“Craig is awesome”

He didn’t need to, but without any benefit to himself he helped me find a lifetime cabin rental within a mile of the resort where I grew up in Alex. I go to his website to dream about the day that I will have a cabin on Le Homme Dieu. He aerial videos are cool and really give you a perspective that you cannot get even by visiting the listings in person. He frequently updates his site and I look forward to viewing his many very RELAXING videos while a immerse myself in the nostalgia of my hometown. I also love the webcam on Broadway and 3rd. Its super corny, but it relaxes me in my big city life to see the wonderful pace of Alex and watch the weather change. PLEASE keep the videos coming, I bet there are other lurkers out there… Seriously, Thanks Craig.

Living in Alexandria is pretty sweet. Traffic jams are rare unless geese decide to cross on the streets adjacent to one of our parks. Our schools are top-rated as are our medical facilities. There is a vibrant music and theater seen. A large number of high-quality lakes are the top draw but also at the top of the list is The Central Lakes Trail and a vibrant downtown with many stores, two museums, and restaurants (a brewpub too!) to satisfy a variety of tastes. When visiting downtown Alexandria, be sure to look up. There is a lot of history and near the top of many of the buildings, there is architectural ornamentation from the original construction. Wander to the north end of Broadway towards Big Ole to find a Farmer’s Market on Tuesdays (Jun 28-Oct 25, 9 am-noon), Thursdays (Jun 23-Oct 27, 3-6p), and Saturdays (May 14-Oct 29, 9 am-noon).

At the south end of Alexandria are big box stores such as Target and Walmart as well as restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, Menards, and Fleet Farm. A key attribute to Alexandria’s success is being on the I-94 corridor. Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport can be reached in two hours of driving and Fargo-Moorhead’s Hector International is an hour and thirty minutes drive. Nice.
