The Ikat Neverfulls came in three colors - Indian Rose (fuchsia), Rose Velours (pale pink) and this Grand Bleu (a vivid blue).

I have occasionally been asked by friends what they should wear to a job interview. Specifically, they like to know how much [if any] fashion flair they can show when meeting with a potential employer. I happen to think a little flair goes a long way. Expressing your fashion inclinations is not only a great way to show your personality but it will help you stand out from the row of candidates in black suits and plain dresses.

Let's go through a work/interview appropriate look with some fashionable touches.

1. Pick a dress/suit with pops of color and/or pattern. I chose a light weight Alex Marie dress that is perfect spring/summer. It is a classic cut dress in a shade of coral with white lace detailing. Although there is color and a lot of lace, notice that it's not "too much."

Ocasionalmente mis amigos me han preguntado como deberían vestir para a una entrevista de trabajo. Específicamente, les gusta saber cuánto [si es posible] estilo de moda se puede mostrar en una reunión con un posible empleador. Creo que muestrar estilo puede ser una buena idea. My Daily Dermalogica Routine (for Hormonal & Pregnancy Acne)

I have dealt with hormonal acne for many years. I went on Accutane to deal with my acne in high school which left me clear for many years. It wasn't until I went on medication that altered my hormone levels that my skin reverted. I had to stop taking the medication to clear my skin. Some time after that, I became pregnant and my skin went nuts!

You're not allowed to take absolutely any medication except for ibuprofen because it could harm the fetus. During one of my monthly facials (getting facials was all I could do), I learned about Dermalogica from my aesthetician. They're products are amazing and use great ingredients that helped my skin get better without affecting my baby. Images of the French Quarter are probably the first thing to fill your mind when you think of New Orleans. I chose a bright dress worthy of the beautifully painted homes in one of the most famous neighborhoods of the United States for this Outfit of the Day.

This sunshine yellow dress is by the Colombian brand Ragged. The dress is a classic fit and cut that would be appropriate from work to play. The yellow gives it a big pop of color and fun. The skinny black tie with bow buckle adds an extra touch of femininity. The shoes are also by a Colombian shoe company named Bosi. I've actually owned these shoes for about 10 years and I love that this style has come back. I'm wearing yellow artisan made earrings that were purchased in...you guessed it...Colombia. I've topped it all off with a beautiful coral lipstick from Make Up For Ever. This pretty Spring look is sure to turn heads in any neighborhood. Trust me!

It's a sunny but breezy day in New Orleans and I'm having a wonderful time at City Park. In this Outfit of the Day, I'm wearing light white jeans and an empire-waist gold v-neck top. Both pieces are from H&M. I love these Alexandre Birman sandals, featuring the Brazilian designer's signature snakeskin accents in shades of light blue with camel brown leather.

For this Memorial Day edition of my Outfit of the Day, I went for a classic look to fit the location of this shoot. These photographs were taken in front of The American Sector at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. In case you don't follow me on instagram [Why aren't you following me already!? Username: jessicayflores], I'm spending Memorial day weekend in the Big Easy. I'm telling you, THIS is the place you want to be if you're a retro/vintage/pinup-loving gal or guy. This city is not only ripe with history but the shopping is epic. Not to mention food and drinks!

Here I'm wearing two pieces I purchased from one of my favorite vintage reproduction shops in New Orleans, Ragdoll. The white top is from the vintage reproduction brand Roch Steady. I just love the collar, accent buttons, wide V-neck opening and the lace sewn into the sleeve bottoms. I purchased this amazing sheer umgee U.S.A. wide-leg pant from the sale rack at a whopping $10! I know, right!? They're a bit large around my hips so I'll have to take them in when I get back home, which will be worth every penny. I finished the look with my olive khaki colored MRKT wedges and a Always Red lip stain from Sephora.

The weather is warming up and we can feel summer right around the corner. There are a lot of warm weather trends right now but the all white look may be my favorite. Nothing says you're ready for warm weather like an all white ensemble.

In this Outfit of the Day, I'm wearing a long, sheer white Pleione blouse with lace shoulder panels. The shorts are stretchy and super comfy. I purchased these MRKT olive khaki colored canvas wedges at DSW. I love that they're peep-toe and have gold hardware. I finished the look with some of my 18k Colombian gold pieces and MAC's Raspberry Swirl lipstick (one of my Top 10 Spring/Summer Lipsticks).

In Spain, 2006

It took me quite a while to acquire healthy eating habits. Growing up in a Hispanic household, I was served huge plates and not allowed to leave the table until I finished everything. I was often guilted into eating because "people are starving in Colombia" and "it is a sin to throw away food." In Latin American households, food is not only a human necessity but it is used as a sign of affection. And I was LOVED.

I've tried to be very forthcoming about myself, including the fact that I was "once a fattie" as I like to say. Actually, the complete version of that phrase is "once a fattie, always a fattie." By that I mean that once you've been overweight you still live with overweight tendencies. As many in the medical and psychology fields confirm, our relationship with food can become an addiction. As such, once you're an addict you're always an addict. You just learn to live with that addiction and learn to control it.

I wouldn't say I was addicted to food but I definitely maintain some fattie tendencies. I LOVE FOOD. When planning vacations, searching for the best restaurants and must try foods are always a priority. I crave something sweet almost every day. And EVERYTHING can be made better with cheese!

I learned to eat healthy almost by force. I spent a summer in Spain and the family I was staying with were....well, Spanish aka European aka healthy eaters. The served salad and an appropriate serving size of the main course at every meal. Most shocking to me was that they served their meals with water. Water! That clear stuff that doesn't taste like anything! I was used to drinking instant powdered ice tea with every meal (even at breakfast). It wasn't until everyone was finished with their meal that they would serve a small glass of soda. But by the time I finished my delicious spanish dish, I was too full to drink soda.

In Peru, 2007

Since Spain, I've cut out sugary drinks almost completely. I drink water with my meals and I do my best to eat until I'm full [not about to burst]. I've taught my family that it's okay to have left-overs and children can step away from the dinner table when they're sufficiently full.

My life [and body] has significantly changed since my trip to Spain. But I continue to fight unhealthy urges. I do my best to select healthy items from menus. I try eat just a small amount of the non-healthy foods I do enjoy. I've also incorporated a lot of juices and soups into my diet (I've always loved salads so that wasn't a big change). I'm glad to say that my campaign to become healthier has become easier over time. Choosing the right meals and activities has become second nature. I don't have to truly think about it very often. I'm loving my healthier life!

OOTD: The Great Gatsby 1920s Look

In this very special Outfit of the Day (or Outfit of the Night rather), I'm going for an all out Great Gatsby look. My dress is vintage (thanks mom!) and features stunning shimmery floral embroidery. My fur and leather coat is also vintage. It's an Yves Saint Laurent sample that my mother received many years ago (seriously, thanks mom!). I'm currently selling it on Poshmark. I'm so excited to see Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby. I've been a fan of the directer since I discovered Strictly Ballroom. As a young girl growing up in the 90s, I don't have to tell you the impact Romero + Juliet had on me. And, yes, I'm in the camp that believes Moulin Rouge was wonderful. Loved the music. It's a casual Friday here at the Domesticated Me household. I'm wearing this comfy-but-not-frumpy look to run some errands and take my daughter for a walk in this lovely NYC Spring weather. These stretchy skinny jeans have become quite a staple in my wardrobe. I can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. I've paired it with a white top 3/4 sleeve top from Zara that fit perfectly under my brand new 3/4 sleeve Naf Naf blazer.

As I mentioned in this previous Outfit of the Day post, I love Naf Naf. Unfortunately, they don't have any stores in North America. Luckily my mom just came back from a trip to Colombia and brought me lovely goodies from my favorite shops, including this blazer and these adorable flats from Vélez.

On a Quest to find the Perfect Camera Bag

As I mentioned in my previous post, I purchased a new camera a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I still don't a camera bag for it. I actually do have a professional camera bag (like the canon bag pictured below) that fits the camera, three lenses, a flash and bunch of other small accessories (via my husband's collection) but I don't have my dream bag.

What? Do you really think a girl like me would walk around with a plain old camera bag?

1. I live in New York City. Although I have never been a victim of a street crime, I don't want to tempt anyone into popping that cherry.

2. Doesn't a girl deserve a fabulous bag fit for the fabulous arm it's carried on? Of course!

Therefore, I'm on a mission to find the perfect, chic camera bag that will give off the illusion that I know what I'm doing (so many buttons!) while looking like the in-the-know fashion lover I try to be.

Here is what I'm looking for

The bag must be light weight/not bulky
It must have a cross-body strap
No matter how esthetically pleasing it is, it must protect my camera and lenses
Did I mention it has to be pretty?

We shall see where this quest takes me...
