Dear Divine Domestika,
That’s more like it! I was actually praying for you to really HAVE a decent holiday, not bothering by other tasks at hands, as I know how dedicated and responsible you are. Fantastic, that’s the story I’d like to hear.

Enjoyed the pictures, although I do have to Google the ‘deer in Canada’ to check on the possible one you saw.. anyway, love the dogs.. make me wanna nap at this very minute.

As for me, obviously no celebration. Although our Independence Day will be in August, but I doubt I’ll have any holidays then.

Welcome back! You see deer? What state are you in? Our local creature is the alligator. Hence why I live in high rise condo by the bay and not a house encroaching on land around Everglades.
yes, it’s July. before you know it will be December and Christmas parades and white pellets of fake snow will descend. I shudder at 2010 creeping around the corner. So much to do so many postings to write including my book reviews. Again welcome back.

Welcome back! I enjoyed reading about your Canada Day celebration. We’ll be celebrating our Independence Day in the US on July 4th. There will be activities all weekend long, with fireworks, parades, barbeques, picnics and more. And some of us will be working at jobs, blogging, and independent businesses in between it all.

What is a Seitan? A casserole of some sort?

If you come up with a “idiot mitten” string that works please post it here for the rest of us to try. I too walk mostly in the dark.
I had been thinking along those lines myself, but still not sure how to make it work so Sierra won’t totally rebel, she isn’t happy to put the booties on, but will.

I keep thinking of making boots with something like the mitten minder strings we force toddlers to use to keep them from losing their mitts. Have a track on the topside of the jacket that it can run through/attach (requires use of a jacket obviously and then attach the strings to the top of the boots so if it falls off it can’t be lost (my biggest booty problem as we are always walking in the dark). Also would reduce the chance of the booties falling off in the first place/.

That was a clever piece of planning ahead you did — to get a small portable piece at the same time, to drag around for paint matching (and to other stores, too, if you wanted to match drapes/towels/curtains to the sink colour scheme?): good thinking!

I carried a talavera sink home on the plane from mexico a few years back and redecorated my 1/2 bath around it. It uses the sunflower design so common in their work. I picked up a small piece of pottery as well that had the same colors in it and took it to Home depot to hold up to their color scanner and matched up one of the greens in the pottery to use on the walls. I installed a new counter (the sink was a different size than the original sink and so I use a mosaic white tile as the counter and backsplash. It came out really nice.

Wow! I am SO totally impressed with this! This is utterly amazing! I hope you don’t mind if we make one too! I have put out an email to all our friends to help collect jugs for us, and we hope to make one at least as big as yours. Thank you for this incredible idea–we can’t afford to buy a premade playhouse, so this is FANTASTIC! Keeps the jugs out of the landfill, too! I am thinking of filling the bottom ones with sand to anchor them (we live in a sandy area, so this will be free, too) and putting it at the end of our driveway so the kids can use it while waiting for the bus to pick them up. Again, thank you, and beautiful job!

Could I do this over wood plank subfloor using rosin paper? There are a couple of 1/4 inch wide gaps. This is an old work shop (1815) with painted subfloor. It’s a bit out of level. I want to use it as an art studio but need to cover floor with something. The floor is relatively flat. Any info is so appreciated. Thanks

Thank you for liking the stars.. and my nails. ha.. actually I was regretting for not paying much attention on them after the post was published. But, it’s good that the plain colour made the red star stood out more.

My, those fingers do look gigantic.. ^^
