Keeping up with Don

Hey everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve posted here at DMF.net, and honestly, I really don’t need to anymore.

Don does a great job of staying connected with folks through his blog and his twitter, so make sure you’re plugged in there as we get closer to the release of his new book in October.

And if you’re the one person who visited here because of my writing (hi mom!), you can read my daily doses of humor and nonsense at my blog, Ramblings and Such. It’s looking like I will sign with an agent this year, so maybe someday soon I’ll have a book on the shelves next to Don’s books. And then someone (my mom) will start BryanAllainfans.net.

Anyway, hope you all have enjoyed a fine summer…keep reading and stay in touch!

65-City Tour this Fall

If you’d like to bring the Million Miles in a Thousand Years tour to your town, please read the following:

In September, when A Million Miles in a Thousand Years hits bookstores, I’ll be setting out on a 65-city tour. We are just starting to figure out the route, and have certain cities we have to hit. But if you have a venue, or know of a venue you think would house about 1500 people (think of the churches or schools where you’ve seen lots of concerts) would you let us know? Chafee Management is routing the tour as we speak. Here is an early description of the evening, just so you can pass it along to those who would be housing the event:

The Open Table

Over at his blog, Don sheds some light on a new project he’s been working on called The Open Table. The full website will launch in the Spring, but there’s a short video there now where Don explains exactly what the Open Table is.

Blue Like Jazz Movie Update

I asked Don about the BLJ Movie when I saw him last month. He said everything was ready to go with it, they were only waiting for funding so they could begin making it. As you might imagine in such a tough economy, that funding hasn’t come through yet.

I’m guessing it will eventually, and in the meantime you can check out this video that Don and Steve Taylor filmed earlier this year. You can also check out bluelikejazzthemovie.com for more info.

According to Tony Jones’ blog, Don will be headlining a Barack Obama event in Colorado Springs. The Obama campaign calls it their Faith, Family and Values Tour, with the slogan: “Voting ALL Our values.”
