The band and I have just escaped to the fife countryside for a week (Waz’s lovely folks’ house) to jam, write and arrange new songs for album purposes. We arrived in the dark last night and I awoke to discover our beautiful surroundings, say hello to the Ochil Hills:

Other news is that we’ve been chosen as a showcase artist for this years Wide Days music conference in Edinburgh on Thursday 12th April @ Electric Circus. Temp. music teaching job now over… Life seems like it may, just, be returning to normal! The last few months have been pretty much gobbled up learning how to teach, it has been awesomely challenging, I have learned gazillions! And I have been incredibly grateful for the opportunity & experience. But also real glad I can now get back to songwriting & the album. Listening to dictaphone recordings right now, it feels super good. We’re heading to the countryside in a couple of weeks to start demoing & to arrange/write a bunch of new tunes before we head into the studio. Can’t wait! Hope you are all well, things ought to get a bit busier round here now that my time has freed up!

Title track of the ‘Fists At The Sky’ EP has been clocking up some more airplay on Ally McRae’s Radio 1 BBC Introducing in Scotland show. Booyah!

Yesterday in The Scotsman newspaper, ‘Infinite Colours’ was awarded track of the month by Born To Be Wide‘s Derick Mackinnon & Olaf Furniss. Read the full article here.

There are some upcoming shows in Edinburgh and Glasgow in February & March: Feb 18th @ Captain’s Rest, Glasgow (FULL BAND) / Mar 7th @ Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh (SOLO). There was a headline full band show scheduled for Mar 9th at Cabaret Voltaire, but I’ve just heard some very sad news that the venue has closed down. Will update you as to what’s going to happen next asap!

Well, we did it. 24 hours, 2 bands, 1 track. What a totally awesome experience. I think the first Mashup Session surpassed all our expectations, we are so chuffed with the end result. Not bad at all for 24 hours work wethinks!
