Mousesports gets a direct invite into The International 3 after defeating DD.Dota 3-1 on the Grand Finals of the West Qualifier. DD.dota, on the other hand, will proceed into the Wildcard tournament, where they will be competing against the runner-up of the East Qualifier tournament slated to start today.

While Mousesports didn’t have the best start for this tournament, they still secured the invite after a very strong finish. They seemed to be a different team after losing to DD.Dota on the playoffs – since then they took seven wins against just one defeat to close out the tournament.

The majority-French team was actually the strong favorite heading into the Championship. They topped Group A and also headed over the Championship via the Upper Bracket. They did not have a one-game advantage though, and mouz was clearly determined and poised on that last series.

The German squad, led by syndereN, won the series 3-1. They stormed to a quick 2-0 lead to start the series, but dd inched closed on the third game with their second Razer pick of the series. The fourth game sealed the win for mouz, as they had better laning and made good use of that to farm Alchemist up.

With that, mouz will be heading into Seattle as a sure participant for TI3. Meanwhile, dd.Dota will also be heading to Seattle, but will have to fight it out with the East Qualifier’s runner-up for the final slot of the tournament. syndereN’s previous team, mTw, won the TI3 West Qualifier last year.

The East qualifier will start today with two matches on Group A.

Similar to the West Qualifiers, the top team on the East qualifier will be invited outright into TI3. The runner-up will be facing against DD.Dota on the Wildcard for the final slot of the event. TI3 East Qualifier is scheduled this 20-23, 28-30 May.

Hey Alex, thank you for taking the time to talk to us. The Dota 2 community was recently informed of your removal from the mousesports Dota 2 roster and that syndereN would be replacing you. Was this something that had been discussed internally beforehand or did this catch you by surprise?

It didnt totally catch me by surprise. I somehow knew this might be coming and tried to avoid it but after our G-1 Champions League games the morale of the team was very low and a scrim later the day turned out into a disaster with some internal trouble going on. Two days later I saw them scrimming with the Kaipi supports and I knew then that I would be kicked from the team.

So I was informed that the team thinks that our weakness is the support part and that one guy in the team didn’t wanna play with me any more. I said okay, I understand I will give my best to improve and play as many games as I can before the TI3 qualifier, but unfortunately I could’t convice that person and he said that either he or me should leave the team and he doesnt wanna go on like this.

FATA- called me into teamspeak and told me that he had to do something about the situation and the best solution would be to remove me from the team. I was of course highly dissappointed at that moment because one person simply refused to play with me any longer and forced a decision that way, but I know that I could have done better and played more games even if my time is more limited then for my teammates to some degree.

In the end I can’t blame FATA- for that decision as a leader because he also wants the best for the team and I know he did what was the right choice in his opinion.

The official Twitter post.

Do you agree with your teammates conclusions regarding the support play being a liability for you guys?

Yeah it was definitely one of our bigger problems. There may have been other issues as well at the time, but they don’t matter any longer. They may also no longer apply now with syndereN on the team.

One thing that many people, especially in the german dota scene, are saying about this development, is that they don’t understand why this internal conflict could not be solved via communication. Why was this issue so hard to overcome for you guys?

I can’t really give away too much internal information about it, but there was no solution. FATA was forced to make a decision.

In the end the decision was made to drop you out of Mouz and take in Synderen as the position 5 player, as well as the ingame leader. What are your thoughts on this?

I would have loved to go to the TI3 but there is no chance anymore so I am a little bit sad about that. But every ending is also a new beginning and I can focus on my next steps in life.

For mouz, I think they are a strong team and time will tell if FATA made the right decision. A lot of it will also depend on how they end up doing in the International 3 Qualifiers.

What’s next for you? Will you continue playing Dota 2 competitively?

Actually I have a team of some German guys and we are playing together now. It’s going well so far and people are motivated to play good Dota. We also take the team and playing seriously, which is important in my opinion.

What was your fondest memory from your time in the Mousesports Dota 2 team?

I liked the EMS One LAN in Poland and even the World Cyber Games trip to China with 4 out of 5 mouz players. It’s allways something special and awesome when you can meet up with friends you don’t see every day. That’s what we were, a teams of friends, we even met up for New Year’s Eve in Berlin.

Why do you think that changed?

It’s just a normal thing in life. People get disappointed when they don’t achieve what they wanted to.

Thank you for the interview Alex. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours. Any last words, shoutouts?

Shoutout to my former teammates some of you are actually really good guys shoutout to all fans and supporters, to all the guys that messaged me and tried to help, to dotasource, kuroky and most importantly my friends and family. I will keep fighting and you will see me back guys

Neo.int discloses their first official team announcement after the reported removal of Michael ‘ninjaboogie’ Ross.

Neolution.International was one of the eight teams invited into The International 3′s Eastern Qualifiers. However, it was reported via dpmlicious’ PlayDota forum post that the team’s main carry and captain, Michael ‘ninjaboogie’ Ross was removed from the team.

After speculations on what really happened, Neolution.International finally released a team statement, where they expressed their take on what happened.

Neolution.Int

We regret our final decision of removing ninjaboogie. The course of events has turned from a discussion within the team into a sour situation where our member has released a statement by himself through his “manager” before we have come to a final official decision.

It is also news to us that Eliza “Lunar” Ong, who has never been a manager to anyone previously, is now his “manager”.

Before we submitted our player list to Valve pre-qualifier, we had some intentions of changing the team roster. However, after a team discussion, the entire team decided to give it our best and improve on our shortcomings.

Ninjaboogie is an exceptional player in-game but just lacks the capability of mutual respect. Not only did he not work on his attitude, he became more aggressive and violent. We felt that it has come to a point where the team felt it was a chore playing with him, and vice-verse. Things have deteriorated to the extent that made us take action. It is with much regret that things have turned out this way and we, the rest of the team feel that we have to take action.

For the qualifiers, ninjaboogie plans to play online from Cebu with triple digit ping as he has gone for a holiday with his manager, even though we have a training house in Singapore. We sort of understand his intentions as our attempts to persuade him to play the qualifiers in Singapore came to no avail. We do understand Valve’s rules and we would rather take punishment for breaching the rules, than to play on unhappily without meaning.

With this, we made the hardest decision as a team to remove him after seeing him release this news before being removed officially while the team has been discussing the options of his role in the team.

We feel that the more fitting punishment will be a penalty instead of removing us entirely. We would have accepted any sort of penalties (default 1 game loss from bo3/bo5 games or loss of hero picking bonus time), as LGD.cn was not removed entirely from the tournament. We have sacrificed our time and personal priorities over everything else for our favorite game. Our members have flown into the bootcamp and have been training very hard the last two months. Since a decision is already made though, we will accept it with grace.

We want to thank our sponsor especially the CEO of Neolution, Satean who supported our decision knowing the possible consequences. We want to thank our fans and friends who have supported our dream. A dream most players would give anything for.

It can be remembered that LGD.cn had a roster change not too long ago, replacing LongDD with DD. Because of that, the team’s direct invitation into TI3 was revoked, and they were demoted into the Eastern Qualifiers instead. Being already on the Eastern Qualifiers, Valve carried on with the decision of removing the team completely. Replacing the team is Dreamz.Ledion.Steelseries

While the team didn’t really excel, Neo.int has still performed consistently good. The team was considered to be at least one of the top three teams in Singapore. Yuan Hing ‘Blah’ Teh, Neo.int’s middle lane player, will be the new captain. The team would wish to play on in future tournaments and is already looking for a replacement, which will most likely be a Singaporean. They will however retain Swish – now the only remaining non-SG player.

Ledion.Dreamz.Steelseries had been chosen as the replacement for Neolution.International on TI3′s Eastern Qualifiers. The latter was evicted due to their roster change.

The announcement was made a few days after one of Neolution.International’s players, Michael ‘ninjaboogie’ Ross, was reported to have been removed from his team. With Valve demoting LGD.cn into the qualifiers after changing roster, the eviction of Neo.int from the Eastern qualifiers wasn’t totally surprising to many.

Surprising many, however, is Valve’s decision to pick Ledion.Dreamz.Steelseries as the replacement. The team is relatively new to Dota 2, moving in from Warcraft III’s DotA just back January this year.

Dreamz has been the picture of roster stability, keeping their team intact for quite a while now. Among the highlight of their so-far short Dota 2 career is the runner-up finish on both GosuCup Asia VI and Pinoy Gaming Festival Summer Assembly. They defeated Rising Stars, TongFu (both at GCVI), Neolution.int and MSIEvoGT (the latter two at PGF) en route to those finishes. They had also expressed much enthusiasm on The International, initiating campaigns on their Social Media page.

Their biggest competition for this invite was probably Netolic.SG. This Singaporean squad was the team that defeated them back at GosuCup VI. However, while the Netolic.SG team is full of veterans, the team itself has been much newer and that was probably the reason of their non-invite.

One of Dreamz’ players, Julius ‘Julz’ De Leon was able to attend the very first The International. He was then playing under Mineski. Mineski is also invited into the TI3 Eastern Qualifiers.

If Dreamz outright replaces Neo.int, they will be on a group with LGD.cn, Rattlesnake, as well as Singaporean hopefuls First Departure. The Eastern qualifiers will be hosted by BeyondTheSummit and is scheduled to be held this 20-23, 28-30 May.

Top 2 of each group will then advance to the play-off stages – a double-elimination bracket round to decide who will advance straight into Seattle. The runner-up of this round will be moved into the Wild Card qualifier, to be played days before the main event.
