Google appstore offers new in-app subscription payments – Google is adding yet another way for developers to earn consistent cash flow by introducing new in-app subscription payments to the Google Play Store. Developers now have the option to bill users monthly or annually for access to their apps and content.
Visa Inc tipped to do well in emerging payments market – Forbes magazine rates VI stock highly and says it expects a strong reception for its 'mobile wallet service' – which should boost transaction volumes.
Groupon is testing a payments offering to compete with Square and PayPal – Groupon is testing out its own mobile acceptance device to rival Square and PayPal Here. The pricing will be aggressive, with a 1.8% transaction fee and a 15 cent per transaction charge for transactions processed through the terminal. Square charges 2.75% with no per transaction fee.

Samsung looks at electronic payments using embedded NFC – Samsung, which recently dethroned Nokia as the No. 1 phone maker worldwide and which probably sold more smartphones than Apple during the first quarter, is making moves in the electronic payments space.
Isis mobile payments get retailer partnerships – Isis, the US mobile wallet project, has announced partnerships with Foot Locker, Champs, Jamba Juice, Macy’s, Dillard’s, Aeropostale, and Coca-Cola vending machines for its launch in the summer. Isis is supported by US banks and phone networks.
Major Italian banks and e-merchants join MyBank pilot – Italian banks have joined together to launch an ACH payment service called MyBank. It will rollout across Italy in 2013 and is intended to be ultimately available across Europe.
