Downton Abbey Season 3 Now Available on Amazon Instant Streaming

All three Downton Abbey seasons can now be viewed for free on Amazon.com streaming if you're a Prime member. Amazon already offered seasons one and two and season three was just added Monday.

Soon Amazon is the only place you will be able to watch Downton Abbey via streaming as they bought the exclusive streaming rights. No date has been officially announced for that to begin but it is rumored to be July 1st. That means no more Downton Abbey on Hulu or Netflix. The agreement also covers seasons four and five (if produced).

Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern Takes On New Civil War Project.

Elizabeth McGovern has landed a new project, she will be narrating a Civil War documentary titled, "Civil War: The Untold Story" from Denver's Great Divide Pictures. It will air on public TV in the US in 2014.

Landing McGovern to narrate was fortuitous. The commitment from the actor — Lady Cora, Countess of Grantham! — is a coup for the producers, not only for the name recognition she brings but as a potential way to cross-promote the documentary within "Downton Abbey" and vice versa. The opportunity arose because Wheeler's previous films, including "How the West Was Lost," employed Peter Coyote as narrator. Coyote and McGovern share the same agent; a connection was made. Wheeler planned to fly to England to tape McGovern's narration this month.

Downton Abbey Executive Producer Gareth Neame Talks Downton Abbey Season 4, Series Length, Emmy Race & More.

*Just warning you ahead of time if you are trying to stay away from 4th season spoilers, I would avoid this interview.

TVLINE asked some awesome and insightful questions of Downton Abbey executive producer, Gareth Neame.

They talk the challenge of avoiding spoilers with the different US & UK air times, the Emmy race, how long the Downton Abbey will run, show pace, actresses Maggie Smith & Shirley MacLaine, and the characters of Mary, Branson and Edith.

Here is an excerpt:

TVLINE: With Matthew’s death, you’ve opened up a world of romance again. Is love the main focus for Mary and the show next season?

I don’t think it is. It’s important to say that audiences are not going to want to see Lady Mary get back in the saddle by the first commercial break of the next episode and just find a new guy. People wouldn’t want that at all. People were really invested in that relationship. But audiences won’t mind new guys hitting on her, as long as she doesn’t just say, “OK, let’s go for it.” She’s got to feel that Matthew was her husband, and there’ll never be anyone else. So I would say the emphasis is really about her rebuilding her life. It’s not just about romance. But that said, there are plenty of avenues and outlets for romance in the fourth season because romance has always been at the center of the show.

TVLINE: Speaking of love, is poor Edith ever going to get some happiness?

Well, she seems to be pretty serious about this guy, right? It’s a bit complicated with him. I can tell you she’s got some great storylines ahead in Season 4. When we talked about the character, Julian Fellowes had a very strong sense that she would be the unlucky daughter. You’ve probably got some friends or family who the sun is always shining on. Everything seems to go fine. And there are other people for whom things just constantly go wrong, some stream of bad luck. That’s a little bit how it is with Edith. She’s one for whom things will just never be straightforward.

TVLINE: How will Branson be moving on as a single father?

He becomes a bigger and bigger character within the dynamic of the show. He is almost Robert’s right-hand man now. So he has a lot to do in the new season.

Elizabeth McGovern Shares Her Thoughts on Cora Crawley Possibly Singing on Downton Abbey

Elizabeth McGovern, Cora on Downton Abbey, is in a real life band, Sadie And The Hotheads. They played at the Isle of Wight Festival today and Elizabeth was interviewed by Heat. They asked her about Cora singing on Downton:

Or better still, we thought Elizabeth could get Lady Crawley a singing part in Downton Abbey? She said, “I could try but I don't think I'd get very far! I could do it but I think Cora singing is far, far away from Julian's imagination!

“We still think a Downton duet would be pretty epic, but Elizabeth isn’t so sure! She told us, “I think Hugh would need a lot of persuading [to duet with me] but you never know maybe one day! Watch this space - maybe I'll have Mrs Patmore! A lot of the cast have seen me perform but I think food would help give me a chance, especially with Hugh!” Well the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, we suppose!

Downton Abbey's Allen Leech Donates Suit For A Good Cause.

Downton Abbey's Allen Leech donated a suit to the campaign, "A Suit For Success" 2013 which gives unwanted suits to help disadvantaged unemployed young people of Britain find work.

"We called on the men and women of Britain to donate their unwanted suits to be gifted to one of our three partners:

Amber and Centrepoint who both help young people disadvantaged as a result of homelessness, and Right Futures who work with young people who are not in employment, education or training to find their first long-term role.

And we were really chuffed when actor Allen Leech (pictured right) donated a suit for the campaign."

Downton Abbey's Daisy, Sophie McShera, Could Have A Role In Disney's New Live Action Version of Cindrerella.

Lily James (lady Rose) might not be the only Downton Abbey cast member to star in Disney's new live action version of Cinderella.

Sophie McShera is reportedly in negotiations to play one of the wicked stepsisters in the film directed by Kenneth Branagh. Lily James is playing the lead role of Cinderella.

Also appearing in the film are Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother, Game of Thrones' Richard Madden as the prince and Holliday Grainger as the other wicked step-sister.
