And to top that off, we are coming up on our 1st full year in San Francisco. It’s been an exciting year for us both in France and in the USA.

Highlights include launching a successful event series called HR & Tech SF in collaboration with SayHired. HR & Tech SF draws out the most exciting trends at the intersection of HR and technology by bringing together thought leaders from the startup scene. Check it out here.

In France, we’ve been working with tons of great organizations including Atypic Store, the University of Nantes and more.

We also launched our Career Guide late last year. Our hope is to provide tips and guides to get the most out of your professional online identity. If you have unanswered questions, let us know here or in the comments.

Job seekers with Adecco France can now take advantage of the features and simple interface for which DoYouBuzz is known. Adecco France’s talent pool can now create an elegant online resume that presents them in a professional way. This online resume can also be shared in PDF or Word format.

Through the partnership, DoYouBuzz enables job seekers with Adecco France to:

1. create a professional resume from within their account on adecco.fr
2. use this resume in their wider job search efforts.

Knowing that people check out your resume is good. But knowing HOW people find your resume is even better. For several months, DoYouBuzz Premium members have been able to analyze their resume traffic via Google Analytics. Now with Premium, you can view the keywords that people search to get to your resume. Directly from your dashboard! 

What are keywords?

Keywords are the words that people look up in search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo to find content on the web.

You can now see which words are search to find your resume on your dashboard.

This list shows you which keywords were used and the time they were used to find your resume via a search engine. You can also see where these inquires are coming from. Unlike the basic traffic statistics (pageviews), this list is updated continuously. No need to wait until the next day to see how your resume is performing!

What does it mean?

Knowing which keywords draw people to your resume lets you:

• determine the foundation for your visibility. You can always do a search for your name or position to see if your resume shows up in search results. But it’s equally important to know how others, especially recruiters, look for you. You might find out that you are found using keywords that don’t match your profile. In that case, you’ll have to make a few adjustments.
• mesure the impact of your “campaigns” or big pushes to get your resume out there. Imagine you just went to a conference or a networking event. Before you could just see if there was a peak in traffic. Now, you’ll be able to find out if your contacts were looking your name up directly in search engines. You’ll also be able to see where most of your traffic is coming from.

Advanced statistics, new designs, pdf…

At this time last year, we were frantically working to launch the English version of DoYouBuzz. Once part of the team got settled in San Francisco, we started revamping and improving our service, including:

• a makeover of our home page;
• providing advanced traffic statistics for your resumes;
• HR-XML export;
• new resume template designs;
• easy Twitter and Facebook resume sharing; and
• a new (much improved!) printable version of your resume.

On top of it all, we also created and launched the Career Guide by DoYouBuzz, also available in French. In 2011, we look forward to bringing you the best advice and tips for maintaining a powerful professional online identity!

San Francisco, Nantes and HR & Tech SF

2010 was a big year for us. As a small team, we took on the challenge to expand from France to the US. An amazing and exciting feat for the DoYouBuzz crew. In San Francisco, we quickly found a welcoming home at pariSoma innovation loft—a coworking space by day and event space by night.

We quickly realized that HR-related startups were shaking things up, so we created HR & Tech SF in partnership with SayHired. This group meets monthly to exchange and network with industry and thought leaders, as well as, the startups in this space.

Most recently HR & Tech SF ended the year by hosting iTalent. A startup demo competition where seven up-and-coming talent-focused startups competed before a panel of expert judges. You can read more about iTalent here.

In France, we made great strides this year bringing DoYouBuzz to higher education institutions. Sciencescom, ESSCA, CNAM des Pays-de-la-Loire, the Design School of Nantes, IPAG, EM Strasbourg and SKEMA all signed up to make it easy for their students to have a positive and effective online presence.

With our roadmap in place, 2011 promises to be even more exciting! Until then, we wanted to wish you a merry, happy and cheerful season.

Share your resume on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Viadeo

You can now share your resume with your entire community in just one click! The share buttons produce a link to your resume that appears in your timeline on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Viadeo.

To share your resume, go to the Export tab on your resume.

New options for your printable resume

Many of you told us that the PDF and Word export feature wasn’t perfect. We agreed… they old PDF export was pretty bland compared to the quality of the online resume. On top of that, you couldn’t choose which parts of your resume would appear on your printable version.

All that is a thing of the past!

Now, you can:

• choose between two different page layouts
• select which elements will be featured on your printable resume
• include your complete mailing address

Finally, when someone visits your online resume, they can choose between downloading a PDF or a Word document.

Download Statistics

Premium DoYouBuzz members can now access statistics on the number of time their resume has been downloaded. While we were making this possible, we updated the design for all traffic statistics on your dashboard. We hope it’s easier for you to read and enjoy!

New email format

The last thing we changed before 2011 is the format of the emails sent when someone contacts you via your contact form on your resume. The message and contact information from the sender are presented in a more understandable way.
