Fluxos de Dados e Relações entre as Redes Sociais

Com o crescente uso das Redes Sociais, e a constante alegação de que o conteúdo é redundante, resolvi desenvolver um organograma que mostrasse os principais fluxos de dados entre as redes sociais, microblogs, e-mails, etc. Vale lembrar que não há embasamento científico.
O sistema de setas está um pouco confuso, já que eu fiz questão de que as caixas estivessem organizadas em coluna por tipo e em linha por dono (o Twitter ficou em cima e em destaque por, além de ser a rede que mais tem importação e exportação de fluxo, não se enquadrar em nenhuma linha ou coluna). Para não se confundir, basta lembrar que nenhuma seta trespassa outra de mesma cor, e nenhuma seta se liga com outra de cor oposta.
Sem mais delongas, segue a imagem, que fiz no Word mesmo, já quem o Visio, infelizmente, não permite (até onde eu sei) estruturas mais complexas (vários fluxos de cada caixa).

Finalmente meu twitter foi promovido para o novo design. Logo ao mudar, vemos que o novo layout é muito bonito. Primeiramente, há uma barra horizontal preta, com opções padrões similares à nossa e a do Google, por exemplo.

Logo abaixo, vemos que a interface mudou, e agora há duas colunas bem definidas: a da esquerda, branca, mostra os Tweets, e da esquerda, verde, suas informações, ou (quando selecionado) informações de um tweet específico.

Finalmente, a área da esquerda mudou ligeiramente, mostrando finalmente um acesso rápido para as menções e outros atalhos legais.

Entretanto, as principais mudanças fogem do design: agora, o Twitter permite acesso nativo a mídias, como vídeos, imagens, links, etc., etc. Em suas próprias palavras, "[fizemos parcerias com]DailyBooth, deviantART, Etsy, Flickr, Justin.TV, Kickstarter, Kiva, Photozou, Plixi, Twitgoo, TwitPic, TwitVid, USTREAM, Vimeo, yfrog, e YouTube."
Outras duas mudanças marcantes são os 'miniprofiles', agora mais específicos e atualizados, e, na parte da direita, conteúdo relacionado ao tweet escolhido, ferramenta interessante e poderosa.
Todas essas mudanças deram o tão esperado passo do Twitter rumo às outras redes sociais. Finalmente, poderemos deleitar-nos com os aguardados recursos - e esperar que o famoso microblog não fique estagnado de novo.

IE9 finalmente saiu!

Depois de preview, que mostramos aqui, o IE9 Beta finalmente saiu! Para baixá-lo, basta ir nesse site da Microsoft.
Como já sabemos, infelizmente ele só rodara no Vista ou 7. Mais uma desenfreada tentativa da Microsoft de nos fazer dar upgrade no OS. Entretanto, isso não é necessário - para quem ainda usa o bom e velho XP, basta seguir as instruções da postagem do Preview, instalando o VirtualBox e o 7.

Depois de baixar, basta abrir o instalador (imagem) e aguardar. Dentre as pirncipais novidades, estão o suporte a HTML5, Javascript reconfigurado e muitas outras. Velocidade e seguranças, segundo a MS, também foram implementados. Afinal, para quem não usa o IE, não é nada ruim continuiar no XP+IE8 - mas talvez seja hora de atualizar nossos softwares. O Vista foi um fracasso - está, em minha humilde opinião, fora de questão. O 7 é ótimo - só não o instalei porque, na última vez em que formatei o PC, ele era muito novo. Agora, entretanto, talvez já seja hora de mudar - fica aí uma dica para quem for formatar o computador.

Finalmente, The Lord of the Rings Online, um dos mais aclamados MMOs da história é gratuito. Seguindo a forte tendência da Turbine, iniciada com Dungeons & Dragons Online, e também de muitos outros RPGs online, LOTRO promete fazer muito sucesso. O cadastro pode ser facilmente realizada na página do jogo (www.lotro.com), numa coluna à direita. Depois, basta baixar o 'downloader' [game installers](Pando Media Booster, à lá DDO), e, finalmente, o jogo.

A velocidade do server é boa (oscila pelos 50kbps, aqui em 2MB); o peso, entretanto, é farto para um MMO: uns 7GB (10,448MB) - nada, é claro, que não valha a pena.

Fica, então, a dica; quem quiser começar a jogar, basta seguir as instruções. Tomara que WoW & Cia., seguindo a moda, logo fiquem gratuitos também (embora eu realmetne não espere que isso vá acontecer tão logo).

Review:
Torchlight tem um sistema completamente baseado em Diablo - um point'n'click e hack'n'slash, com, entretanto, um visual cartoon muito mais claro e arrojado que os jogos da Blizzard, mais sombrios.
As diferenças já começam nas classes, que apelam para as 3 classes básicas (ataque corpo-a-corpo, ataque a distância e magia), simplificando, num primeiro momento, as várias opções de Diablo - todavia, as personalizações in-game garantem characters únicos. Outra diferença é que, em Torchlight, você tem um cachorro ou gato - um pet, que pode carregar itens, atacar e até virar outros animais.
Mais fácil, com uma interface mais prática, puxando para os novos MMOs e extremamente leve (<500MB, rodando em qualquer PC) é uma ótima alternativa ao predescessor, principalmente enquanto arguardamos anciosamente o III.

Olá a todos! Acaba de ser lançado o FF4, a mais nova versão desse revolucionário browser! Seguem prints, as mudanças e o download.

Vemos que a principal mudança é o layout, agora muito mais arrojado. A barra de navegação e dos favoritos (bem como as outras barras), ficaram para baixo das abas, dando uma ideia de exclusividade - bem mais lógica do que anteriormente.
Outra inovação, obviamente singulariedade da versão Beta, é a caixa de Feedback, na qual você pode rapidamente reportar o que gostou e o que não gostou, bem como bugs. Seguindo a linha do Beta, temos também uma pesquisa, que repentinamente aparece, perguntando sua satisfação para com o novo FF - mais especificamente, informações sobre como você usa a web.

Há também outras inovações menores: O antigo gif de loading que aparecia no lugar do favicon quando a aba ainda estivesse carregando foi substituído por um reloginho que marca percentualmente o progresso.

Outra novidade é a possibilidade de redimencionar caixas de texto, desde que elas estejam previamente programadas para isso; ainda não sei o comando, mas consigo redimensionar algumas e outras (como as do meu site) não. Veja o que fiz com o editor de texto do Blogger:

Finalmente, vale lembrar que o browser ainda está numa versão Beta - pode conter bugs e inclusive falhas de segurança, não sendo, protanto, recomendável fazer transações monetárias com ele. Além disso, nenhum complemento da versão 3 funciona nele ainda, nem mesmo a barra de ferramentas do Google - tornando ele pouco prático, afinal. Em suma, assim que lançada a versão final, será um browser espetacular, mostrando cada vez mais um FF que supera o IE.

Estratégias
1. Após algum peão começar a construir algo, selecione mais peões e mande-os consertar o que está sendo construido, assim sua estrutura irá ficar pronta muito antes;
2. Quando estiver destruindo estruturas dos inimigos, deixe-as com a força muito baixa de modo que apenas um tiro as destrua, então quando entrar algum inimigo para consertar, atire. Isso irá mata-lo junto;
3. Exploda as foquinha precionando o mouse duas vezes sobre elas;
4. Use a magia Unhly Armor/Invisibility em Dwarver e Sappers e veja-os explodir;
5. Construa fazenda onde os inimigos podem chegar à sua vila, isso irá dar uma proteção como uma muralha contra as invasões;
6. Sempre que possível faça upgrade de armas, isto é muito importante em um combate corpo-a-corpo;
7. Destrua as Minas de Ouro dos Orcs: Mas não ataque os peões, assim, os Orcs não sabem que você está atacando, e você pode destruir a mina! Se houver mais de duas minas no mapa, mande algumas unidades na outra e extraia ouro de lá também; os orcs SÓ vão mandar Peões para as minas.

MediaPortal é uma aplicação Open Source ideal para converter o PC num centro Multimédia avançado. Com o MediaPortal pode ouvir as suas músicas, rádio, ver os seus filmes gravados no PC, DVD’s bem como ver, gravar e até agendar gravações de programas televisivos. Basta que para isso tenha uma placa Tv instalada.

Este software suporta ainda um sem número de plugins e skins que permitem estender as suas funcionalidades. Excelente alternativa aos Media Center do Windows XP Media Center Edition ou do Windows Vista, e que, na minha opinião, em muitos aspectos vai bem mais longe, quer a nível de funcionalidades, quer a nível de usabilidade e estabilidade.

Depois de efectuar o download e a instalação, este programa divide-se em duas categorias essenciais: a aplicação de “setup”, que é utilizada sempre que queremos modificar um parâmetro, acrescentar um plugin ou skin, nomear os directórios com musicas ou filmes, etc e por outro lado, temos a aplicação propriamente dita.

As opções de configuração são imensas, mas uma que achei bastante curiosa e útil, é a integração directa do Daemon Tools no programa, podendo assim definir aqui directamente discos virtuais.

(Supostos) Erros na matemática suas mais plausíveis soluções

É muito comum, navegando pela internet, achar uma dessas contas que, desenvolvidas, geram resultados absrudos, com 1 = -1 ou 1 + 1 = 3. Nesse post pretendo desenvendá-las e achar seus erros. Caso saibam mais alguma, comentem!
1) -1 = 1
Essa é clássica; desenvolve-se assim:
√1 = 1
√(-1)(-1) = 1
√(-1) . √(-1) = 1
i . i = 1
i² = 1
-1 = 1
O erro desse é fácil de achar: a raíz quadrada de 1 também pode ser -1. Ou seja:
√1 = +-1

2) 1+1 = 3
Essa é uma fórmula bem famosa, que vem confundindo várias pessoas. Depois de muito tentar, achei o erro. Veja:
a = b (*a)
a² = ab (-b²)
a² - b² = ab - b² (Produtos notáveis)
(a+b)(a-b) = b(a - b) (Corto (a-b) dos dois lados)
a+b=b (Como a = b, troco a por b)
b+b=b
2b = b (Divido por b)
2 = 1 (Somo 1 a ambos os lados)
3 = 1 + 1
O interessante dessa é que funciona com números! Veja:
7 = 7
7² = 7.7
7² - 7² = 7.7 - 7²
(7+7)(7-7) = 7(7-7)
7+7 = 7
14 = 7
Entretanto, assim que fazemo-nos, o erro fica claro: se a=b, a-b=0, e, como bem sabemos, não podemos, nunca, dividir por zero. (2.0 = 3.0 --> 2=3?).

Frequentemente precisamos de um som - um efeito sonoro, curto - para usarmos, seja em jogos, vídeos, teatros, músicas, etc. Por isso, decidi criar uma relação de sites muito interessantes com coleções enormes de sons, que podem ser acessados (em parte, pelo menos) gratuitamente.

Soundsnap: Um dos sites mais completos do gênero, permite 5 dowloads por mês na conta gratuita. Para burlar isso, basta reproduzir o som no seu PC e gravar (eu não consegui captar com nenhum software, liguei a caixa de som e gravei com o celular mesmo).
FreeSound.org: Site completamente gratuito. Para procurar os sons, basta ir em Search (no menu Search/Browse) na home.

IE9 Preview! Requer Vista ou 7

Olá a todos! Recentemente a Microsoft liberou um preview do IE9 - Test Drive, como chamaram. O download do pequeno arquivo está disponível em http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/. Após baixá-lo, basta instalar. Infelizmente ele só roda em Vista ou 7, mas isso não é um problema, mesmo para quem tem XP (como eu) - basta emular uma máquina virtual.

Para isso, primeiro baixe o VirtualBox, da Sun (existem outros programas, mas eu gosto desse) por esse link.

Depois, é nescessário ter um DVD de instalação do novo OS. Para quem não tiver, podem baixar o Windows 7 por esses links:

Lost 6x14

Cuidado, spoilers!
Desde Ab Aeterno, em minha humilde opinião, não tínhamos um episódio sequer que tivesse mais respostas do que perguntas. Não é meu costume escrever resumos dos episódios de Lost, mas este merece. Direto, foi bem explicativo, na verdade.
Um momento que nos deixou muito espantado, com certeza, foi a resposta de Jack a Locke na FST; "Because you're a candidate". Quando vi pela primeira vez, no Sneak Peak (no qual a ABC fez o favor de cortar o final da conversa) cheguei a pensar que o (F)Locke na FST fosse o Jack! Claro que tudo se explica na frase seguinte, mas ainda fica um dejavú, ainda mais quando, mais tarde, Locke começa a repetir frases que antes dissera. Quando fala que caiu de avião, novamente tive uma falsa revelação; mas, além de outro 'dejavú', isso foi uma tremenda coincidência.
Muitos personagens morreram nesse episódio. Cena muito engraçada do Untangle, aliás, foi quando Pierre Puppet cita o evento, e somente depois de horas chorando por Jin e Sun lembra de Saiyd. Na verdade, ele esqueceu também de Lapidus e todos os capangas de Widmore que estavam no submarino (segundo alguns spoilers, Lapidus não morreu, e vai aparecer novamente na ilha - como?). Pelo menos tivemos uma boa notícia: Desmond, afinal, não morreu (e quem não gritou "Eu sabia!" quando o Saiyd falou aquilo?).
Pelo menos, agora, já sabemos o plano de (F)Locke (e que ele não pode matar os escolhidos, mas os escolhidos podem morrer - mesmo que Saiyd tenha perdido a alma mesmo e deixado de ser um, Ji Yeon nem tinha nascido quando Jacob escreveu Kwon na caverna). Afinal, foi o (F)Locke que pôs a bomba no avião para que depois pudesse achá-la? Creio que estamos esquecendo de alguma coisa. Ben e Miles, a uns 3 episódios, voltaram para a Dharma Ville para pegar explosivos. Nunca mais apareceram :(.
Finalmente, temos o emocionante final. Depois de vários episóios, temos um daqueles que o "LOST" aparece quando nós menos esperávamos (tudo bem, o melhor foi o do último episódio da quinta temporada, mas quem vence aquele?). Como será que ele fará para matar nossos heróis 'indiretamente'? Em suma, foi, para mim, o melhor episódio desde Ab Aeterno e abre portas para um, talvez, melhor ainda: Across the Sea vai falar, finalmente, da história de Jacob e do F(Locke)/homem de preto (por que tanto drama com um nome? A não ser que seja um que nós já conheçamos - Aaron?). Pelo jeito vamos ter que esperar até o outro episódio ainda para vermos o que ele irá fazer.

Minha antiga teoria sobre Lost e considerações sobre o 6x11

Quando comecei a assistir a 6ª temporada, construí uma boa teoria sobre as viagens no tempo e universos paralelos. Inicialmente, não foi a explosão da bomba que 'gerou' o outro universo paralelo; todos os Universos Paralelos possíveis existem. Obviamente algo ocorreu na FST que fez com que a ilha ficasse submersa, mas esse fato não teve relação com a bomba e tudo mais. Na OT, Juliet e os outros sem moveram novamente no tempo, antes dela explodir a bomba - daí o clarão. A bomba foi achada e removida depois (ou não), mas nunca foi detonada.
Minha teoria entra em crise com o 6x11, já que nele fica implícita a conexão entre os dois universos paralelos. Embora ainda haja chances de ser verdade, nem mesmo eu a sigo mais. Então, sim, a bomba gerou o FSP. Nesse caso os losties voltaram para 2007 imediatamente depois da explosão, não sendo afetados por ela. Mesmo assim, eles ainda teriam que voltar no tempo no FSP para detonar a bomba. Ou seja, o próximo passo seria Desmond avisar e consientizar os passageiros do FSP e eles voltaram e detonarem a bomba.
