With that in mind, I stumbled upon a lovely interview today with Jeff Warren, author of The Head Trip: Adventures on the Wheel of Consciousness, where on the topic of sleep, he marvels at the fact of dreaming, and how amazing this is, in and of itself, stating:

When you wake up in a dream and actually take a look around — it’s bananas. It’s the absolute craziest goddamn thing in all of human life. Every night we beam down into an elaborate virtual world where we can pound the walls with our oven-mitt fists and sniff giant daisies and have elliptical conversations with archetypal bus drivers. From inside a dream there is nothing vague or washed out about the experience — dreams are totally real, as real as getting off the plane in Lagos and ordering a beer from some guy at the side of the road. You are at this place — you’re IN it! At the time it’s every bit as solid and real as waking. Except… and this is what’s so cool… except when you’re self-consciously aware inside the dream you can then squeeze up real close to the walls with your little magnifying glass and look for suture marks. You can conduct experiments. You come to realize that there is a set of laws operating in the dream world that is every bit as real as the laws of physics in the waking world. What are these laws? And why aren’t there as many scientists down here with their slide rules and theories as there are out there? We spend our lives in two worlds and yet we only pay attention to one of them…

I also love his response to why he largely avoided discussing drug-induced states of consciousness in his book, opening with “they’re the really obvious shit.” Ha!

There’s something about his writing style that I really enjoy, it’s very down to earth. You get the since that he’s very honest and sincere in his explorations.

I just found out that Bouncing Bear Botanicals is producing a neat looking film/documentary on psychedelics called Manifesting the Mind.

Below is a preview of the clip, featuring notable figures such as Dr. Rick Strassman, author of the brilliant book DMT: The Spirit Molecule, the infamous Terrence McKenna, and my favorite psychedelic writer and 2012 speculator, Daniel Pinchbeck.

This film is actually just the first of 3 films (!) in a series that will address different aspects shamanism. The offical description states that:

This first film, Manifesting the Mind, is a broad look at psychedelics in general. Why are psychedelics so brutally suppressed in our culture? What exactly are some of the psychedelic plants and chemicals and how can they benefit us?

Very cool!

Evidently this is out in select cities already and will be available on DVD soon.

Check out the trailer below.

I got an email today from an individual suffering from occasional yet terrifying bouts of sleep paralysis, asking for my advice on the practicality of using lucid dreaming to deal with the experience.

Being that I’ve had relatively few sleep paralysis episodes beyond one incredibly weird sleep paralysis / alien / demonic experience back in 2007, I’m not inclined to give the best advice on the question of where lucid dreaming can fit in the picture.

So I thought it would be interesting to pose this question to everyone out there reading & ask you about…

Your experiences with sleep paralysis?

What helped you deal with it?

Was it practical or possible to use lucid dreaming to alleviate the sleep paralysis experience? How so?

My hunch on bullet 3 is:

sort of.

The nature of Sleep Paralysis is so weird, I’m puzzled to how lucid dreaming can help out in the normal sense of dealing with something undesirable in a dream (such as becoming lucid and then confronting characters in a nightmare.)

As I understand it, lots of people experiencing the classic symptoms of sleep paralysis (an inability to move, pressure on the chest, presence of other entities ) — they already know that they are dreaming, right?

Or these individuals, amazingly, are even sort of awake in that their eyes are open and they see their actual bedroom, but the SP experience is overlaid onto this? ( This is how it was for me.)

So if you knew what you were experiencing was simply a dream, would you be able to move and overcome the sleep paralysis?

Curious to see if anyone out there has any advice to share. Thanks!

I’ve been testing out a a lucid dreaming training technique with my Sirius Light and Sound Machine, and so far, the results are fascinating me.

If you’re unfamiliar with a Sound and Light Machine - also informally called a Mind Machine - it’s a device that combines binaural beats & brainwave entrainment, pumped into your ears via headphones, and pulsating colorful, psychedelic lights, shadowed over your closed eyelids with a pair of glasses containing multiple LED on each lense.

The idea behind Mind Machines is to induce a certain brainwave state associated with a desired goal.

For instance:

Beta - associated with awareness, an engaged and alert mind

Alpha - associated with a non-drowsy but relaxed, tranquil state of mind

Theta - associated with creative states of mind - imagery, visualization. This state is present during dreams and REM state.

Delta - associated with deep, dreamless sleep.

I’ve been using Session 8 on my Sirius mind machine, which lasts 25 minutes and goes from Beta, Alpha, Theta, in that order, as I fall asleep.

This is one of my favorite sessions to use because the visuals are just totally captivating.

Occasionally, with and without the addition of smoking marijuana with the mind machine, this session has induced the feeling coming out of my body and merging with the “scene” the pulsating light show has created in my entire field of vision, which can become like a very deep bubble in which I feel myself coming into. (It’s hard to explain. :))

I noticed recently how there is a mental trick involved in allowing myself to see or experience the visuals of the lights merging together into spirals and tunnels in which I feel myself coming towards and moving through. It involves letting go in a normal sense of viewing, and watching what’s happening in a more participatory manner, as if I weren’t just watching the scene but merging with the scene. It’s a strange combination of detachment combined with becoming.

I suspect this could also be described as viewing something with your “third eye”, if you want to put it in those terms. It also reminds me of how adventurous psychonaut Dan Carpenter recounts successfully moving into a high dose DXM trip in his book A Psychonaut’s Guide to the Invisible Landscape

Last week, I put on my Sirius and prepared to fall asleep, with the intention of retaining an inner awareness as I fell into the dream world.

My dream experiences that followed are really interesting. Here’s an excerpt from my dream journal, where I divided the following experience into 3 different dream sequences:

I’m reading a book. The words are clear as day. I am conscious enough to know I am dreaming. It’s almost like I’m awake but in a sort of dream trance. It’s shocking to me how clearly I can go from one word, one sentence and one paragraph to the next, and yet the words themselves lack any meaning as a whole. Some of the words are made up, and all sentences in their entirety are nonsense. I had the thought that I could read this out loud in waking reality since I was conscious enough to know what my situation was.

And then:

Still in a similar trance state….

Looking at a scene of trees, sidewalks, park, people - it’s very 3d. If I can lose myself in things I will be able to merge into the scene.

Lastly:

spider hyper realism –
I see a spider and the detail is enormous. My vision lunges at it, and everything changes, like it was the entry point to moving into the dream.

…

This is what I think happened:

I was put into a sort of dreaming, semi-lucid trance state by my mind machine. I was certainly conscious while reading the book in the beginning of this dream sequence. By the time the images had moved to a more involved, three dimensional scene, I was more on the sidelines watching it. Then, I see a spider and in the process of looking at the hyper detail of this insect, I finally joined the dream fully, yet lose conscious awareness of what was happening.

My thinking here is that using the Sound and Light Machine as a way to train myself to watch a developing visual scene, created by the pulsating lights, and merge with it, is very similar to the lucid dream induction technique where you remain aware of the hypnagogic imagery that slowly sneaks up on you, and continue to retain conscious awareness of the dream state, as those images blend into all out dream sequences.

The idea then is that a mind machine can help train you to do such a thing by allowing you to practice watching and then merging with the trippy visual scenes it creates, while you fall asleep.

I should confess, that I am quite skeptical of the straight forward claims put out by people selling sound and light machines and binaural beats. There is no magic device to give you lucid dreams (not yet anyway.)

I think the truth is much closer to what I’ve experienced here - using a product or a technology definitely won’t guarantee or specifically cause anything to happen, but can be used as a training ground to leverage your skills and work with other lucid dream induction methods, with success.

In the meantime, I am curious to test this out further with my sound and light machine. Personally, as far as my own lucid dream skills come, I feel like I am onto something with using a mind machine to practice this strange experience of detaching yet simultaneously becoming or merging with my surroundings.

Your thoughts?

I’m excited to share my work here, I think it fits nicely with the themes on Dreaming Life!

PS I’m currently stuck figuring out the best Wordpress plugins to do this for. Suggestions please?

Road Trip to Burning Man 2009

I always wanted to go to Burning Man and this year I’m going to make it happen!

I plan on driving there too. Being that I live in North Carolina and that Burning Man is in Nevada, you can see that I’m gearing up for one hell of a road trip.

To add to the fun, I am trying to hit up as many other places and meet many people along the way, even if they’re out of the way, technically!

If you can offer me a place to stay or otherwise want to get in touch and maybe meet up, let me know! I am down for making this the road trip of a lifetime. Help me! I promise I’m a good guest, I’m fairly good at entertaining myself, and I’ve done this before all over Europe, just not in the States.

Something funny happens when I read books on lucid dreaming:

I have more lucid dreams.

It wasn’t but a day or two into reading Robert Waggoners new book, Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self, that I found myself experiencing more lucidity in my dreams.

(And hey - not a problem. I will gladly trade waking myself up at all hours of the night in an attempt to induce lucidity for reading a great book on lucid dreaming. )

Other themes from Waggoners book began making their way into my dreams, too - especially how I thought about my dream experiences upon waking.

I’d write my dreams down, and then find myself asking questions like:

Do dream characters have some kind of free will?

Do dream characters have their own goals and intentions?
(…and how much does any of that have to do with me? Everything? Nothing? )

Can dream characters tell me or show me things I can benefit from?

Am I fooling myself by thinking I really create and (if lucid) control my dreams?

One of the first points Waggoner makes in his book is that, contrary to our popular understanding of lucid dreaming, lucid dreamers do NOT control the dream.

He explains this using the following analogy:

No sailor controls the sea. Only a foolish sailor would say such a thing. Similarly, no lucid dreamer controls the dream. Like a sailor on the sea, we lucid dreamers direct our perceptual awareness within the larger state of dreaming.

At first glance, this might not sound like a big deal, but this is quite a break from most definitions.

Starting from this mindset, there are many interesting consequences, from refocusing the concept of lucid dreaming beyond a self-centered, sometimes egotistical experience, to wondering then what sort of limits there are in this world that I previously thought of as under my control?

And finally, it begs the question that’s surely on the tip of your tongue right now:

Hey, if I’m not controlling this dream, then who or what is?

…

3 Questions for Robert Waggoner, author of Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self.

I’d like to highlight one of the more startling interactions with dream characters you speak of in your book. In chapter 4, “Beyond Freud’s Pleasure Principle”, you write about an experience in which a lucid dreamer tells a dream character named Sandra that she was a character in her dream, and then:

She replied that I’m a character in her dream.

To prove her wrong, I did various things such as fly around the room and change our environment.

Sandra did similar tricks. Neither of us could influence the other.

After a bit of this, I was very confused and Sandra commented that she, too, was confused.

What do you think interactions like these mean in regards to the identity and motivations of dream characters? Is the question of dream characters having free will a legitimate question?

Ben, thanks for your question. I first became interested in this topic, when I noticed how many lucid dreamers reported the dream figure looked annoyed or upset after being told they were dream figures. This did not support the prevailing thesis that all lucid events are the result of expectation and mental modeling. Looking in to it more deeply, I felt like the Dr. Dolittle of Dream Figures – I wanted to talk to them, and understand them from their perspective.

In the conscious conversation you pulled from my book, lucid dreamers see the shocking complexity of dream figures. First, the dream figure suggests from its perspective the lucid dreamer is the dream character! Then, it responds rationally to the lucid dreamer’s attempt to demonstrate superiority by showing that it can do everything that the lucid dreamer does. Finally, it realizes the futility of these attempts at persuasion, and emotionally shows its sense of confusion.

Think about that. A dream figure shows apparently unique awareness, the ability to observe and rationally respond, and the capacity for emotion. Incredible.

Like many lucid dreamers who experience these moments, we are left with the sense of some dream figures having awareness roughly equivalent to our own (and sometimes greater!); a point the German psychotherapist and lucid dream researcher, Paul Tholey, suggested also. So lucid dreamers quickly see that dream figures are much more than mere symbols or ‘a reflection of some aspect of yourself.’ Some dream figures appear basically self-aware. As such, they demonstrate a unique independence and separate-from-the-waking-self thought process. Lucid interactions like this may be showing us actual ‘sub-personalities,’ or ‘ego-complexes’ in action. In lucid dreaming, we may have the means to investigate a continuum of conscious forms; both those beneath our level of awareness and also those beyond it e.g, the Self.

What motivates these dream figures? Good question. By all appearances, this level of dream figures seems motivated by the desire to be understood. They don’t seem to have an agenda to dominate or usurp the lucid dreamer – any more than they want to be dominated by the lucid dreamer. They appear to want recognition, appreciation, possibly even respect.

However, as I point out in my book, there does seem to be another class of dream figures motivated by the desire to educate and assist the lucid dreamer. They often appear when the lucid dreamer needs help or actively asks for assistance, and refer to themselves as “guides” or “guardians.” As such, we seem to have different types of dream figures, possibly with different motivations.

Free will? By their actions in lucid dreams, it definitely appears that some dream figures have a separate-from-the-waking self sense of awareness and act according to their own intents. So yes, some appear to have a type of freedom of action within that realm. Of course, a larger subset of dream figures appear to have very little, if any, awareness, and may constitute a more basic level of mental formation.

Through your own experience, you’ve come to the conclusion that lucid dreamers do not control the dream, but rather, act more as a guide through the dream, much in the way a sailor moves through water but does not control the ocean.

In this analogy, it’s easy to imagine the sailors boat propped up in the water, with him navigating, but not controlling, the ocean - but in a lucid dream, when we are manipulating our surroundings and experiences, but are still not the ones ultimately in control of the dream, who or what is?

In my book, I suggest that lucid dreamers “direct the focus” of their dreaming, but “do not control” the entire dream, much like a sailor directs the movement of the boat, but does not control the sea.

Lucid dreamers notice this when they fly through a wall and encounter an entirely new, detailed environment. Who created that environment and all the details? Not the lucid dreamer. He or she was simply flying through a wall. The lucid dreamer did not consciously pre-determine (or control) that the next room would have two doors, green walls, five desks (some with staplers), three dream figures, etc, etc. But somehow, that is what the lucid dreamer encounters upon flying through the wall, and basically accepts it without thinking about it or controlling it.

Obviously, something fleshes out the dreamscape, and creates all of these details, which are not consciously considered or intended by the lucid dreamer. But what does it? How does it come about?

Here, we have a number of possibilities for dream scene creating: 1) the lucid dreamer’s subconscious dredges up appropriate details through an automatic dream making process, 2) or a hybrid system of subconscious dream making exists both automatic and purposeful, which allows for deep meaning and the entry of apparently aware, independent dream figures, or 3) an inner awareness throws together the dream scene with lightning fast speed, possibly in keeping with certain principles or overall purposes. Of course, once the dream scene emerges, the lucid dreamer can focus on anything in that dream scene and try to direct it – or if talented, the lucid dreamer can focus his intent on potentially anything (flying to outer space, conducting a dream experiment, smashing the dream scene, etc) and try to achieve it.

From my lucid dreaming and research, I knew that my beliefs, expectations, focus, intent and will appeared to coalesce to help create or direct the formed reality. However, the surprising elements and sometimes shocking information that I sought out (such as clairvoyant and precognitive information) which appeared in some lucid dreams, suggested that something more was involved. In my book, I call this the Inner X, an inner unknown – since my waking self was unaware of the information.

In part, this caused me to assume that a larger awareness existed ‘behind the dream.’ So I began posing questions and requests to that non-apparent awareness behind the dream. I would just shout out what I wanted. Incredibly, a response would occur – sometimes of mind blowing proportions.

So in answer to your question, it may be that like the human body which has automatic functions and the capacity for intended actions and thought, dream creating has both an automatic function and a capacity for intended action and thought, most easily seen when lucidly aware and actively engaging it. However, the action and thought can originate from multiple layers of the Self – the conscious waking self in the dream, subconscious intents and/or the inner Self or awareness behind the dream.

Lastly, a more mundane, but rather important question:

In your presentations on lucid dreaming, you often begin by asking people if they’ve ever had a lucid dream. About 80% of the hands go up. One question later reveals that about 35% of the audience has had more than 2 dozen lucid dreams. But if you go further and ask who has had more than 100 lucid dreams, you wrote that you might look out and see just one hand, alone, in a sea of people interested enough in lucid dreaming to actually attend a lecture or conference on the subject.

This point bothers me.

Despite the rich amount of information describing techniques to induce lucidity and assurances from people that it’s not hard to do - it is.

Why do you think this is the case and what can people do differently to change this?

Personally, I feel that this culture does not value dreaming, nor does it approve of altering consciousness. When you put those two things together, you create a cultural sanction against lucid dreaming. As social beings, it seems hard to go against the culture and its belief system.

If the culture valued dreaming, and approved of altering consciousness, you would likely find a flourishing of lucid dreaming and a much deeper exploration of it. Individually, we must learn to value dreaming, value active explorations of consciousness, and value lucid awareness.

Some people have written me that these are the reasons they like my book. I help illustrate the value of lucid dreaming by showing how some lucid dreamers have used it to heal their own bodies and apparently others as well. How lucid dreamers have been able to seek out conceptual information, unknown information, clairvoyant and precognitive information. How lucid dreamers have been able to come to a greater understanding of the dream realm, and its interface with waking reality. How lucidly aware, we have a platform to honestly probe our larger identity and methods for reality creation.

Once we value something, let go of limiting beliefs, and reward or praise the activity, it becomes much easier naturally.

So it is important to un-earth those limiting beliefs, address the fears and hesitations and create what I call a ‘welcoming mental atmosphere’ for lucid dreaming. That, along with persevering in a proven practice, should get most any truly interested person into the game.

Lucid dreaming does not seem to be everyone’s path. But I believe almost anyone can become a talented amateur, and see for themselves the potential and beauty of this approach.

This is amazing.

Japanese scientists claim they have developed a technique that visually records ones thoughts and dreams onto a computer monitor.

The technique is done by analyzing changes in blood flow in the region of the brain where vision is processed, called the visual cortex.

A spokesman for Computational Neuroscience Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan, says that “by applying this technology, it may become possible to record and replay subjective images that people perceive like dreams.”

These are big words, with enormous implications!

So much that I thought immediately, “No… this is certainly a hoax.”

But such is not the case.

However, the research is not as far along as some of these headlines lead you to believe. While still an amazing feat, all I can deduce from the information released thus far is that researchers were able to reconstruct different letters that were seen by subjects, and this was done by only looking at brain processing data. (In this case, data from a type of MRI.) I do not see specific mention that images from a dream were captured.

But if this technology is perfected for bigger and more complex images, then theoretically, images you see in a dream could be captured and outputted onto a monitor! Ahhhh! (And we won’t even get into the creepy mind-reading privacy invasion issues this technology would bring about.)

Here’s an idea:

When the research gets to this point, experienced lucid dreamers would make excellent lab subjects.

Studies could be done in which a dreamer becomes lucid, finds a pre-existing object or manipulates the dreamscape to produce a specific object, marks the moment using an eye signal (such as looking left then right 8 times in a row), then focuses on the object for a specific period of time, and finishes with another eye signal to mark that they have stopped looking at the object.

If an image is produced from an analysis of the brains processing data from the time range in between eye signals, the dream subject would be able to concur if this is in fact, what he or she was looking at.

Wow. (And that would be just the tiniest tip of the iceberg for this technology…)

I wonder if this is something that in 5-10 years will be possible to do in the lab? Or will this run into unforeseen hurdles that are never jumped?

It just sounds too amazing to be true, I’m in shock.

…

Here’s some quality sources reporting on the study:

Last July I wrote about some weird lucid dreaming devices and pills I found that people had patented. Some of these devices were pretty funny sounding, and I had to share. (And to my surprise and delight, this was one of the most commented posts ever!)

Today I stumbled upon another patent in regards to lucid dreaming from 2006. Me being somewhat of a nerd, I did a few google searches and discovered that the inventor behind the patent, Jeff Luciano, is the founder of Dreamboost, a company which makes…you guessed it, supplements for dreaming, otherwise known as “lucid dreaming pills!”

(Jeff is also unknowingly perhaps a future interviewee here at Dreaming Life, if he agrees to such a thing. )

The paper presenting the patent is called a “Dietary supplement and a method to enhance sleep and lucid dreaming”

The description reads:

A nutritional supplement for enhancing sleep and lucid dreaming in humans. It contains a combination of ingredients in proportions calculated to enhance lucid dreaming. The primary ingredients are Calea zacatechichi, L-5-Hydroxytryptophan (L-5-HTP), and Vinpocetine. In addition, the nutritional supplement may include the secondary ingredient Melatonin and the tertiary ingredients Wild Lettuce Extract, Mugwort Extract, Dimethylaminoethanol Powder (DMAE), Passionflower Extract and Green Tea Extract. Further, various Vitamins may be added such as certain B vitamins, D and C, as well as Zinc, Magnesium and Calcium. The selection and amounts of the ingredients of the nutritional supplement promotes sleep and lucid dreaming in people who have taken the nutritional supplement prior to going to sleep.

Analysis of the ingredients shows substances known to have an effect on dreams, especially (and logically), what the patent describes as the 1 of 3 primary ingredients: Calea Zacatechichi.

The other two primary ingredients are known not so much specifically as dream aids, but for their effect in a round about way: L-5-HTP, which raises serotonin levels (see 5-HTP discussed on DreamViews) and Vinpocetine, which is supposed to aid memory function and general brain health.

Ironic Side note: For much of 2006 I took both 5-HTP and vinpocetine supplements daily for non-dream related reasons. I did not know at the time they also supposedly could have an effect on dreams. Personally I noticed zero effect on my dreams. This once again brings to mind the debate on how much dream supplements effect dreams only because of the expectation that they will effect your dreams aka the placebo effect.

I’ve heard of people using mugwort as an effective dream aid, and of course, B vitamins are fairly well known for their effect on dreams, especially Vitamin B6.

The rest of the ingredients are more vague, in my opinion, and perhaps I’m just not familiar with them. (Please enlighten me.)

I don’t understand the inner workings of patents, but isn’t it odd that in order to file a patent like this, one has to submit a paper which discusses the historical background to lucid dreaming, with quotes such as:

Dreams have been recognized as sacred and spiritual experiences in many cultures around the world since the beginning of recorded history and perhaps even earlier. In the last century, the understanding of dreams has changed from one related exclusively to the spiritual to that pertaining to the physical/psychological realm. Toward the end of the twentieth century, the idea of lucid dreaming, or dreaming with deliberate intention and control, has moved from the world of shamans or spiritualists to realization that lucid dreaming can be achieved by anyone with the assistance of nutritional supplements and practice.

And:

In order to enhance the training of a person to develop strong lucid dreaming skills, various devices have been devised. Such devices use light and/or sound to help trigger lucid dreams. Among the shamans of some primitive cultures, they would enhance their ability to have lucid dreams by using various drugs. However, as one can imagine, most of these substances are considered illegal in the U.S

And then the climatic ah-ha moment of the patent:

There is a need, therefore, for a safe but effective nutritional supplement that helps a person go to sleep and which can enhance lucid dreaming even without extensive mental preparation or exercises.

If you like reading patents as much as I do, the patent is available here for curious minds to dissect.

It’s rare that a book comes out these days that advances the discussion and understanding of Lucid Dreaming, but this is what Robert Waggoner has accomplished with his new book, Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self.

The official description reads…

Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self is the account of an extraordinarily talented lucid dreamer who goes beyond the boundaries of both psychology and religion. In the process, he stumbles upon the Inner Self.

While lucid (consciously aware) in the dream state and able to act and interact with dream figures, objects, and settings, dream expert Robert Waggoner experienced something transformative and unexpected. He was able to interact consciously with the dream observer-the apparent Inner Self-within the dream. At first this seemed shocking, even impossible, since psychology normally alludes to such theoretical inner aspects as the Subliminal Self, the Center, the Internal Self-Helper in vague and theoretical ways. Waggoner came to realize, however, that aware interaction with the Inner Self was not only possible, but actual and highly inspiring. He concluded that while aware in the dream state, one has both a psychological tool and a platform from which to understand dreaming and the larger picture of man’s psyche as well. Waggoner proposes 5 stages of lucid dreaming and guides readers through them, offering advice for those who have never experienced the lucid dream state and suggestions for how experienced lucid dreamers can advance to a new level.

Lucid Dreaming offers exciting insights and vivid illustrations that will intrigue not only avid dreamworkers but anyone who is interested in consciousness, identity, and the definition of reality.”

Peer Review & Reception

Dream researchers, writers, and heavyweights such as Jayne Gackenback, Robert Van De Castle, Robert Moss, and Stanley Krippner lended their endorsement to Waggoners new book on the back cover, and thus far, Amazon.com reviewers have all given it a 5 star rating, the highest rating possible, with some calling it the best book ever written on lucid dreaming. Big words!

Interview with Author — coming soon!

I will be interviewing Robert Waggoner on the subject of lucid dreaming and the themes discussed in his book.

I’m really excited for the opportunity to interview an individual who has logged over 1,000 lucid dreams, has 30 years of experience in the subject, and currently serves as the President-elect for IASD, The International Association for the Study of Dreams!

Be on the lookout for this combination book review/author interview next month here on Dreaming Life.

In the meantime, you can learn more about (or buy) his book on Amazon.com.
