Hannah Montana GFX (Title Sequence and Elements)

This week saw the huge launch of the new Disney Movie: Hannah Montana.
We were asked to create a title sequence for the documentary covering the release, which is to be shown on the Disney Chanel May1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

The initial task was to create the 3D environment to set the scene, which we chose to be a red carpet feel.

Then we began to build the city blocks, sky scrapers, and crowds. Finally once the camera motion paths were set, we rendered the 3D elements before creating effects in After Effects.

Clips from the Hannah Montana movie were used to help set the scene. All 3D elements were created using Maxons Cinema 4D.

** In addition this project now includes similar titles created for the Jonas Brothers Movie Premiere.

In association with the Disney Movie Previews animations which can be seen here:

Volume 7: Latina Lovers. The style had to reflect the recent issue
content, which was primarily a bright coloured issue, and we were asked
to reproduce this and convert from a 2D print version and bring to life
for the motion graphics on the DVD.

Volume 7 - Latina Lovers

We
initially began by creating the branding / style and logo for this
particular volume. Once the design was established, we went on to
create the cover artwork in the same style. We also created and edited
the 12 movies that are shown on the disk as well as creating all the
motion graphics needed for the DVD. Once the edits were complete we went on to author the motion menus and dvd disk.

Featuring a hybrid motorcycle/panther character as the forefront of this sequence, we began to animate and bring it to life. Creating movements in the head, tail, and other elements such as breath on the nostrils, we managed to create quite a lifelike quality to the final render.

We also encoporated live footage from previous events, which helped give the sequence a sense of depth.

Created solely using After Effects 3D, and the new puppet tool, we were very pleased with the end result.

To Quote from their website:

"Prolong are the only
manufacturer that have the technology to safely apply the benefits of
surface modifying lubrication technology to a motor oil, without risk
of incurring any of the side effects that all other oil manufacturers
battle against when developing extreme pressure lubricants."

We created a 30second promotional clip that will be used for TV and Broadcast, as well as internal promotional us within the Prolong marking structure.

We started with their original branding as a basis for the design, and went on to create storyboard ideas and designs for approval. The next step was treating live action footage and blending with Cinema4D elements to create the final sequence in After Effects.

a one-day only event on a sunny Sunday afternoon in July 1987. After
months of planning and advertising in the various car related magazines
of the day, around 3,500 people made it to the event although
considerably more than that claim to have been there!

Now on to their 22nd year, Bug Jam has become a huge event for VW Beetle and VW Camper Van owners.

Pulse8Media covered the event, and produced a 1hr documentary about the life and style over the weekend. We were asked to create a title sequence for the program, along with break bumpers and various other graphical elements.

All created using Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects

Titled Golfs Longest Day the programme features a challenge to play 4 golf courses across the UK all in one day, travelling to courses in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.

We started initially by creating the logo and colour scheme for the intro sequence, and then proceeded to create some mock story boards, before beginning to create the renders in Cinema 4D and after effects.

Once the title sequence had been completed, we went on to deliver 2 map graphics to represent the route of the golfers, and also some transitions and other various graphical elements required for the programme.

To celebrate this event, we produced some graphic elements for him.

We helped put together some motion graphics sequences to use on videos of her growing up, to show friends and family over the internet. Creating a brief title sequence name straps, text bumpers, all in the brand of the Jesscia Lesley logo style used for her website, we delivered this set all in time for christmas.

Created in After Effects, and edits in Sony Vegas.

The Sacred Quest (3D Animation Piece)

The Sacred Quest is an extraordinary story of an ordinary young woman, who is propelled towards a cataclysmic life change after an astonishing story is impregnated into her consciousness. As she begins to transcribe the novel she comes to realise that she is in fact its central character, and a sequence of synchronicities sees her following trails of evidence sent by the universe to mark out the path she must follow.

The author of The Sacred Quest came to us to try and bring to life a short excerpt from her book, that could be presented and shown around the world.

We started with an initial story line, and progressed with a full 3D animation featuring 3 characters set in a local bar. Initially set in the day, the mood come across better in an evening scenario, so the lighting and bar area were changed to accomodate this.

Maxon Cinema 4D was the target of choice to create this 3D environment. Skinning and character creation was closely matched to the client specification, and once the draft 3D was created, we added an effect layer using Adobe After Effects.

One halfsize render was produced for approval, then the render queue started creating the finally 1600 frame animation, which was produced at square pixel widescreen and delivered to the client in a quicktime format.

Cemex Angling (Motion GFX DVD Creation)

This was a complete graphics delivery for this project, with Dreamshock heading up the look and feel for the final 2 disk DVD set.

The initial idea was creating the look and feel of the disks, basing the red/blue/white branding of the CEMEX design as a foundation for the set.

We then went on to create the motion graphic chapter segments, which featured Google Earth flybys which targeted each of the CEMEX lakes that was the topic for the respective chapter.

This then progressed on to creating the title sequence, and other miscellanous graphical elements such as name straps and transitional elements used in the DVD.

Once the main edit was complete with the graphics in place, we went on to author the 2 disk DVD set, creation motion menus and also the artwork for the cover and disks to match all in the same set and style as the rest of the design.

Free Degrees LTD (3D Website Elements)

We have just create the Free Degrees logo brand design and website creations.

There was a strong motion graphics element to the website here, with transitional pieces from area to area based on the mordernistic educational feel.

Starting with the logo and brand design guidelines, we went on to develop the interactive website.

This started with the rendering of 3D environments using Maxons Cinema4D then progressing to multiple renders and After Effects to get the final result.

Once the final edits were created, we were then able to start using the enhanced Flash 8 video functionality, to create a smooth transitional website area.

Rhys Daniels Trust Titles (Charity Title Sequence)

Dreamshock have just finished the opening title sequence for the Celebrity Golf Challenge which took place in the summer of 2007.

The main feature of this piece was to use the all ready established logo, which is primarily the house, and the butterflys, and bring it to life with a 2007 modern feel.

Using shots from the actual programme, we imported the footage and rendered in a 3D environment, and used the butterfly logos as particles to help emphasise the look.

The aim of the Rhys Daniels Trust is to provide Home from Home care, in support of major hospitals across the UK. All our facilities are self-contained and supplied free of charge and for as long as the family needs them.

We hope to work more in 2008 with the Rhys Daniels Trust. See their website for more information regarding their charity.

After creating the initial logo idea and design for their website and company stationary, we were set the task to bring the logo to life for use in house and externally.

The result was a 3D interpretation of the 2D designed logo, brought to life with the pulse feature and we delivered a variety of motion graphics pieces, primarly to run on the end of Pulse8Media produced TV programmes.
