Jack Canfield doesn’t just write about inspiration: he is one himself. From the thousands of Chicken Soup for the Soul stories tugging at our heartstrings to the motivational seminars urging us to be the best we can be, Canfield has paved a road to success that is both feasible and specific to each of our individual needs.

Chicken Soup for the Soul by Jack Canfield

Along with his writing partner Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield made a name for himself with the insanely popular series in the nineties. That success continued on into the millennium, but the feel-good stories were a good way to make a name for himself.

They were successful from the start, but why? It’s not like he was writing about celebrities or CEOs or world leaders or any other really important people. But maybe therein lies the story of their success; not with the extraordinary personages we view only from the glossy magazine covers, but the everyday men and women; ordinary on the outside with the inner strength of David facing Goliath.

Jack Canfield took his healing home remedies to the next level by personalizing the inspiration. He targeted specific groups and – whether it was by age or profession or circumstance – the result is always a collection that restores our faith in the human race and leaves us on the brink of tears.

The Success Principles by Jack Canfield

Jack Canfield claims audaciously to increase your self-esteem and success using the principles he’s lived and breathed all his self-helping life. It’s not just a collection of good ideas though. Canfield specifies 64 principles that successful men and women have been using all throughout history. Filled with inspiring stories (because who doesn’t like a nice cup of chicken noodle soup?) of CEOs, athletes, celebrities, and those extraordinary everyday men and women, Jack Canfield makes the game plan for attaining your goals; all you need to do is follow it.

Jack Canfield and the Individual

Success, like beauty, is all in the eye of the beholder. Jack Canfield is great about this whether it’s Chicken Soup for the Soul or success and self-esteem seminars. He understands that your success might not be the same as Donald Trump’s or Barak Obama’s success and that’s okay. What Jack Canfield is trying to help you realize is your fulfillment and your happiness, not anyone else’s.

When you think of exercise, running is one of the first [...]

When you think of exercise, running is one of the first things to come to mind. It’s cheap to do, can be done anywhere and requires very little equipment. But what about the effects it has on your body? Is it really worth it?
The answer is yes! Running is a great way to keep your heart healthy. It’s also an integral part in getting and maintaining a lean physique. That’s not to say there aren’t risks. As with any exercise, you run the possibility of injury. Don’t let that deter you though: there are definite ways to minimize the risks!

Running Musts: Correct Form And Equipment

You wouldn’t expect Serena Williams to play with a broken racket or to forget her shoe laces at home during the finals of Wimbledon, would you? Of course not! She probably does a meticulous run through of her equipment, making sure that it’s all in tip top shape. The same goes for you and your equipment! Shoes are often a big issue here. If you’re new to running don’t be afraid to ask for help! It can be an internet search or advice from a marathoner or even (if you’re really concerned) your doctor’s expert opinion, but take the time to do your research and get the right equipment. Sometimes it’s a matter of trial and error, of finding what works and what doesn’t. The important thing is that you it’s right for you.
Another major problem runners-in-training have that often leads to injury is form. Running around the playground during recess you probably didn’t think about your posture or your foot placement, but you’re most certainly not alone. Form is an easy fix. Search YouTube or get a DVD. The investment is worth it!

Low Impact Exercises: Alternatives To Running

Movement is necessary to maintain healthy joints. Running is a good way to lubricate your joints but sometimes the impact becomes too much and you increase the likelihood of injury. Take a day off! Your body needs rest and time to repair. Try some alternate work outs on those non-running days. Here are just a few low impact exercises to try.

Supplements: Running From Father Time

So what if none of that works? Joint pain is one of the ravages of time that we don’t have all that much control over. But just because the clock keeps ticking doesn’t mean you have to stop. Use scientific breakthroughs to your advantage and try taking joint and pain relief supplements. They’ll hopefully soothe those aches and pains so you can hit the ground running in no time!

Running To An End

The trick with running is to know your limits. There’s a difference between pain from lactic acid buildup and pain from a stress fracture, but the risks shouldn’t keep you from living a happy, healthy lifestyle! You only get one body; it’s worth taking care of and running is a great way to do just that.

Most people at one time or another have had to deal with overcoming procrastination and, whether it’s a habit that’s plagued you since grade school or just an occasional occurrence, chances are it’s keeping you from reaching your full potential. You’re not alone though! Millions of people fall victim to this routine, but never fear. Overcoming procrastination is just one stop on the road to success.

Why are you procrastinating?

Before we go into how to overcome procrastination, we have to figure out why you’re doing it. To each his own, but here are just a couple of reasons that might ring a few bells.

Lack of motivation

Maybe you’ve been assigned a boring project at work and just can’t muster up your everyday enthusiasm; maybe you’ve gotten into the habit of putting off going to the gym; or maybe you’ve been infected with a strain of laziness so overwhelming that you’d rather stay in bed and watch an NCIS marathon than go to work. When overcoming procrastination you need to remember self-discipline.

Fear of failure

Sometimes the reasoning behind procrastination is due more to anxiety and stress than anything. Maybe instead of a boring project, you’ve been assigned a really difficult one or a really important one that could be detrimental to the public’s safety if you don’t perform perfectly. Chances are if you were hired to do a job, your employer saw something in you that they didn’t see in the other candidates that applied so don’t let them regret their decision!

How to overcome procrastination?

So now that we have a good idea of why you’re procrastinating, let’s try and find a solution and overcome procrastination once and for all.

Planning

Time management is an important part of success, without it I’m sure some of the millionaires today wouldn’t be, well, millionaires. Set up a routine for yourself and follow it! The first few days are always a little rough, but soon it will fit you like a glove especially with a few helpful hints.
Life is messy sometimes though, things come up and you might find yourself deviating from your precious routine. Don’t be too hard on yourself! A routine is there to help, not hurt, you so give yourself a break. If you find yourself deviating from the task at hand (perhaps working on that tedious project mentioned above), try implementing a reward system: work on the project for, let’s say, 30 minutes and give yourself a reward afterwards. Sometimes you’ll even find yourself working longer than the predetermined 30 minutes.

Step into the spotlight

After a time you’re going to want to give up, but if you’ve notified your friends and family as to what you’re doing, chances are your pride’s not going to let you off the hook that easy. This works especially well if you’re looking to shed some of those unwanted pounds. Support is key and might be just what you need to keep going.

Remember that you’re only human. It takes practice and it takes time, but overcoming procrastination is a major stop on the road to success.

CashUnite is an infant online company that brags the ability to connect to every one of your social networks from one site. Although there are many other social media management tools available out there, CashUnite – through their unique, patent-pending Peer-to-Peer Social Revenue Share System – gives users an opportunity the earn an income from their socializing.

What does CashUnite do exactly?

With a slogan like “Get Paid to Connect,” the message is clear: the more connections you make, the more you earn. Your connections (ie friends, followers, etc.) are taken from your Twitter, Facebook, Google and hundreds of other social media accounts. They (your followers) are then offered a chance to get in on the action, signing up via your referral id (you have to have a referral to sign up). The more people that sign up, the more you earn! But that’s not all. In addition to your referrals, you’ll also get paid for your friend’s referrals and their friend’s referrals, up to ten connection levels deep.

What does CashUnite mean for the average Joe?

Well for starters it is an opportunity to earn a little something extra on the side. It also keep you in the loop on hundreds of different fronts. This might not be as imperative to the everyday users, especially for those that stick to just one or two social networks. But for the social media butterfly, CashUnite might be just what they’re looking for: a chance to cash in on their popularity.

What does CashUnite mean for the online marketer?

Convenience. For anyone in online marketing, it’s important to stay connected and an opportunity the manage all of those connections via one site is a much needed relief. An additional revenue stream is always welcome as well, especially when you’re earning from something you’re already doing. The time saving abilities the social media hub CashUnite brags of is a good enough reason to take a look.

CashUnite sounds a little too good to be true…

If it’s any consolation they do charge a membership fee, a rate starting at $9.99 per month. The key is to generating an income though, is to minimize your opportunity cost. You remember opportunity cost from high school or even college economics; that ratio of give to gain basically telling us what common sense has told us all along: your income should be greater than what you spend. If you’re still skeptical though, wait for the reviews to come out after the pre-launch.

Maximizing your CashUnite income

The income you receive from CashUnite depends on your ability to network and generate leads. Still in the pre-launch phase, you can build your network and view your potential earnings. And although CashUnite does not offer compensation just yet (a situation that is soon to change since as company has announced the end of its pre-launch phase), it seems a promising prospective revenue stream: just remember to keep those leads flowing and those networks thriving!

What’s green, black, white and oolong all over? Just the most popular beverage in the world, after water that it. Cultivated from the plant Camellia sinensis, tea is not only popular but it is a drink for the ages. Tracing back the B.C. years it first originated in China, later spreading to Europe during the 16th century via merchant traders. So why is tea so popular? Well not only is it delicious, but it’s nutritious! Take a look at just a few of the health benefits tea has to offer.

Decreases likelihood for disease

Tea has healing powers due to its richness in antioxidants. Studies have suggested that tea has cancer-fighting properties, protecting against anything from lung to pancreatic cancer. If that wasn’t enough, tea drinkers have also been less likely to contract diabetes, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. And those are just the diseases that have studies to back up their conclusions.

Increases endurance

Catechins, compounds found in green tea, were found to delay exhaustion. Other compounds found in green tea have also been known to improve bone density as well as strength. Who knew tea was a great way to increase the effectiveness of your workout!

Helps fight free radicals

What are free radicals exactly? Without getting into the scientific explanation, they are basically molecules that can potentially destroy DNA and have also been linked cancer, heart disease and neurological degeneration. High in oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC), tea uses this in its quest against free radicals. Our bodies are designed to fight free radicals but sometimes they need a little help. And tea has the antioxidant power to do it.

Green tea extract protects against UV rays

Who knew that drinking something could have an effect on your tanning abilities? Well it’s not exactly drinking it (in the study they rubbed it on the subject’s skin) that helps with your sunburn per say, but it doesn’t hurt. Assisting with more than just UltraViolet radiation, tea helps combat all radiation by helping your skin bounce back from postexposure.

Helps with weight loss

Despite its caffeine content tea—green tea especially—is very hydrating. Not only that, but it also increases a process known as thermogenesis. Thermogenesis is the generation of body heat due to digestion. This heat then causes your metabolism to speed up, meaning more calories burned and less pounds clinging to your waistline. If you’re trying to lose weight, try this in conjunction with your habitual tea drinking.

Tea is for everyone. Whether you’re in the market to lose weight or just looking to stay healthy, becoming a tea drinker is a good place to start. So fire up those kettles and let’s get some teat brewing!

Navigating the perilous waters of business dealings is [...]

Navigating the perilous waters of business dealings is difficult even on the sunniest of days, but for the women in business with the confidence and know-how, it doesn’t always have to be! Whether you’re working a nine to five desk job or running your own business, these tips will help you manage both your time and resources more efficiently and effectively!

Tip #1: Dress to impress

For women in business, it’s important to be taken seriously. So remember to keep those necklines high, those hemlines low and stick with neutrals and pastels (blind your employers with your work ethic, not your wardrobe!). Also remember that some people have allergies, so go easy on the perfume. And as for accessories, keep it simple: a wristwatch, a string of pearls or diamond studs should do the trick.

Tip #2: Networking in the business world

It might not seem like it, but networking is an ongoing thing. It’s more than just chatting up your fellow men and women in business at a conference though; it’s about connecting. Check out this neat trick on how to break the ice!

Follow up business

So you hit it off with a prospective client or colleague, what now? Keep it up! Shoot them an email every now and then. Get lunch just to catch up on life. Stop selling and start connecting!

Tip #3: Make a checklist

Most busy people are dependent on multitasking, so it’s not that uncommon to be making checklists in your head while shampooing your hair. But then what happens? You get the kids ready for school, get yourself ready for work and let the dogs out before you all pile into the car. When you get to work you realize that you left your presentation notes on your coffee table at home. An easy way to avoid this? Write it down! Most of us don’t have an eidetic memory, so write yourself little ‘don’t forget’ notes. This applies not only to work duties, but to domestic ones as well. Realize that you need pick up milk the next time you’re at the supermarket? Write it down! As a bustling businesswoman, your time is valuable so don’t waste it when you don’t have to.

Tip #4: Effective business communication

<img alt="Business communication" src="http://i2.wp.com/www.businessesgrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/email-lists.gif?resize=200%2C150" px" px" align="left" data-recalc-dims="1" />The majority of communication (a percentage that has been quoted at as high as ninety three percent!) is nonverbal, dependent upon your gestures, body language and the tone of your voice. Caught in the digital age though, we often don’t have our nonverbals to lean on. Emails are the most problematic venue here, but the most important thing to remember is to be yourself! Don’t find an overly verbose synonym for other word to try and make yourself sound super smart (how hard would that be to keep up?) and don’t over-analyze it. If you’re not sure how you come off, ask a friend to read it over and get their opinion. Remember employers want what you have to offer, not what you think you should have to offer. Show off that businesswoman’s savvy of yours!

Tip #5: Get a life

You are more than just your job! Chances are you have a family and friends, likes and dislikes, hobbies and aspirations. Go on a family hike or take a night off and go out with the girls. Take time to appreciate the little things. Stressing yourself out more than you need to isn’t going to do anyone any good.

The business world is often a conundrum, but it shouldn’t have to be! These tips will hopefully help you navigate the currents a little better.
Successful women play a major role not just in society, [...]

Successful women play a major role not just in society, but in business. In Ghana, women make up more than fifty percent of the entrepreneurial activity. Even in the United States thirty percent of business firms are majority-owned by women, a statistic on the rise. Now we all know the soccer moms, the teachers, but what about the increasingly frequent entrepreneurs or even CEOs?

Back To School

The Education Department reported that in 2010 women earned 57 percent of bachelor’s degrees, 60 percent of master’s degrees and 52 percent of doctoral degrees. So what are women doing with all that schooling? Any and everything it seems. From STEM research to business dealings to journalistic genius, but one thing is for certain: the days of college being nothing more than a hunting ground for husbands are over.

Having It All

Many women think that having a career means sacrificing on the fronts of hearth and home, but the successful women on top have proved that false. In fact, the majority of women on the Forbe’s ‘Most Powerful Women In Business’ are married and have children. Heading up companies such as IBM and Kraft, PepsiCo and Facebook, these women are testimonials of success (here are some more enterprising individuals). They prove that anything is possible with an arsenal of hard work, dedication and business savvy at your disposal.

Getting In The Game of Success

No business venture is a solo operation and even though these amazingly successful women have paved the way, you’re not going to get where they are without a little elbow grease on your end. If you’re in college, joining a club is one of the best ways to start networking and making those vital connections. If you’re not in college, look for seminars or conferences (some are even geared specifically towards women in business!) in your area. Not sure what to do after the event? No worries. The ‘what now?’ after effect is common, but here’s some infomation that should prove helpful on your quest for success.

People talk about a glass ceiling when it comes to women trying to reach the position of high level executive and get to that corner office. That kind of talk only serves to discourage, not empower. There are so many successful women with the potential for greatness: aren’t you one of them?

Are you a leader attracting leaders or a leader attract [...]

Are you a leader attracting leaders or a leader attracting followers?

Are you the leader that leaders are looking for? Or the leader that followers are looking for?

Why does being a leader of leader matters.

Whether you believe leaders are simply born or leaders evolve throughout their life and come into their own, you have to admit that there is a little “secret sauce” in a true leader. In Network Marketing, however, much as it is in any endeavor, it is far more efficient to attract leadership rather than create leadership. Building a ROCKSTAR team will happen much more quickly if any given individual is not bogged down hand-holding any other individual through their growth process. This is not meant to be cold, nor does it mean that there is no room for those going through their growth process in a leader’s team. Quite the contrary.

Duplicating Talent

Frequently, in Network Marketing, the notion of duplicating talent is bandied about. The reality is that cloning individuals has not yet come of age and no two people are – or ever will be – exactly alike. Leadership qualities, simply put, are not the same from person to person, and typically cannot be forced. In other words, no matter how hard one tries, nobody will ever see the exact same leadership and talent in one person as exists in another.

But there is an answer to the question of duplicity.

It’s in the tools, and the formulas, strategies, or processes with which those tools are used.

While tools can certainly be used in a variety of ways, with the right formula they can be powerful. And that is where leadership can shine. True leaders help others find their inner best in this way – by showing others the tools of the trade.

I’ve offered a couple of links above. The curious will have already clicked through to discover one of the tools that has truly allowed me to shine in my leadership. There will be folks that say, “this is not for me.” And they will have to seek other means to truly find their calling. I think you’re the type that will excel with the correct tools. Am I wrong? I certainly hope not!

Best to you in all you do,
- Drew
