Regulated Financial Advisor in Dubai, UAE

noreply@blogger.com (TechLife) — Tue, 17 Dec 2019 12:16:00 +0000

Dubai is an interesting city, multi-cultured, happening, and attractive. All sorts of people come here for work and business. 99.9999% may be good and has the right intentions but that .0001% can flip the perception of something you have.

For example, the businesses here heavily depends on post-dated cheques(PDCs) and unless there is a recession or economic downtime, generally everyone sticks to the date in the PDCs and release the payment. But there are people or businesses utilizing PDCs to cheat people or businesses where the PDC are not followed-through which will have a negative cyclic shock. Because there will be a backend payment promised based on the PDCs. And it impacts the complete ecosystem.

Here is a recent article on the subject - https://www.forbes.com/sites/simonconstable/2019/02/26/multi-billion-dollar-debt-crisis-looms-for-dubai/

Agree, this is not just a Dubai problem as this can impact any city or country.

Another recent perception changing post was on Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/dubai/comments/al9wd6/psa_avoid_financial_advisors_in_dubai/ where many people whine about so-called financial advisors scamming people. It is appalling how some people are unprofessional and impacts the whole trustworthiness of some industry. Perception changes.

Happened to find an interesting article on twitter from a financial advisor I follow on how to find the best financial advisors in Dubai, UAE.

There are some cautionary steps that we can perform to figure out whether the person in front of you selling financial advice is reliable or not. You can read it in this section - https://profinancial.solutions/your-guide-to-finding-a-regulated-financial-advisor-in-dubai-uae/#Finding_a_regulated_financial_advisor_in_UAE

Quora has a question dedicated for finding best financial advisors in Dubai - https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-find-the-best-financial-adviser-in-Dubai-UAE

Three bright ‘SUN’ny days…!

noreply@blogger.com (TechLife) — Mon, 29 Mar 2010 05:27:00 +0000

"Learning is finding out what you already know, Doing is demonstrating that you know it, Teaching is reminding others that they know it as well as you do. We are all learners, doers, and teachers."
-Richard David Bach

Three bright ‘SUN’ny days…Those words explain the SUN Solaris cluster training we finished yesterday. A refreshing experience with lot of learning; to be precise the training opened many doors on both technical and personal front. All kudos to a brilliant trainer from SUN education service –Rajesh R. I don’t think we have many like him who can explain an advanced subject like this in a lucid manner.

I and three other colleagues who attended from my team were equally skeptical when we were informed of this training. It was because this topic had nothing to do with our current profile. But today, I am clear that everything happens for a reason!

It was quite interactive and he moved from technical topics to his personal experiences from time to time. Some times to catch our attention and some times to emphasize a technical point.

He shared two of the rules he follows in life and sharing with you thinking these simple rules can make a big difference in each of us. This was his ‘catch’ from one of the Radiocity interview he listened @ his struggling period.

Do invest in yourself (in learning especially)
Be nice to others

Interestingly, one of my ambitions in life is to become a trainer and now I know for a fact that I have long long way to go :-)

"Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you"

noreply@blogger.com (TechLife) — Mon, 08 Mar 2010 06:09:00 +0000

“Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds.”

This sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H. in the ‘Uranah valley of Mount Arafat’ (in Mecca).

After praising, and thanking God he said:

“O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.

Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. God has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. God has judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn ‘Abd’al Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under God’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship God, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before God and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you.

I leave behind me two things, the Quran and my example, the Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O God, that I have conveyed your message to your people”.

Joy and Sorrow - Khalil Gibran

noreply@blogger.com (TechLife) — Mon, 22 Feb 2010 14:34:00 +0000

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, "Joy is greater than sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater."

But I say unto you, they are inseparable.

Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.

Reinvent the map and thus reinvent L I F E!

noreply@blogger.com (TechLife) — Mon, 22 Feb 2010 13:17:00 +0000

When was the last time you set out for a destination and at the end happened to realize that you reached the wrong place?

It happened to me and makes me think what could have done to avoid it?

First of all, those journeys usually started with a map- a map created in mind with lot of assumptions and own notions of the destination. Many at times I did not even mind to check with others or refer a well known map.

Each of these not-so-good-journeys could have avoided with a bit more attention to the map.

Well, I could relate this experience to the journey we are part of every day. The journey called life (no escape from it).

Unlike other journeys, the life journey does not give you a second chance. We are all busy living the life and following the ‘system’ - made by some-people-out-there. Shouldn’t we take a pause and think about the map we follow for the journey – L I F E?

I know there is no ‘life’ in life if I followed a not-so-sure-map or no map.

Do you happen to have a map made out of lot of assumptions (and/or) selfishness (and/or) self-pity (and/or) hatred? Is it stopping you from reaching your ‘best self’?

I think life has its own ways to show us the right path and the map will be reinvented every now and then from each of those experiences. We need to LOOK for it. Give attention to the details and the lessons it’s trying to tell us.

Also, aren’t there teachings already available for us to refer and reinvent the map? What stops us from following them?

Now,
Take deep breath and try to see your own map. Be not complacent. Ask powerful questions. Reach out and re rethink. If you have to take that BIG leap in the process of reinventing the map, Do NOT be afraid.

Reinvent the map and thus reinvent L I F E!

'what matters now' from Seth Godin & Co

noreply@blogger.com (TechLife) — Sun, 07 Feb 2010 16:59:00 +0000

“There is no delight in owning anything unshared.”

-Seneca the Younger

A perfect example for what you call collaboration. Seth Godin and 70 bright minds have come together to produce a simple and thought provoking book – ‘what matters now’. It takes no time to read but may bring smile to your face and heart.

It’s very true that “The educated do not share a common body of information, but a common state of mind”.

Stay Hungry Stay Foolish

noreply@blogger.com (TechLife) — Fri, 05 Feb 2010 16:41:00 +0000

I am currently re-reading the book Stay Hungry Stay Foolish - inspiring stories of 25 IIMA graduates, who choose to become entrepreneurs. Rashmi Bansal - the author has set up a website based on this book. While skimming through different web logs I stopped at “How do you see yourself?” The message is loud, clear and captivating; see below for an excerpt.

It is the way you see yourself that is the problem
Skills can be learn[t], attitude can be changed. Do not be so harsh on yourself.

Keep a diary noting down one good thing that happened to you every day
One thing you like about yourself
One thing you did for someone else.
One thing for which you are grateful to God
Your life will change - for the better.

me@no-nonsense|Google may charge Googol for an ad!

noreply@blogger.com (TechLife) — Thu, 04 Feb 2010 08:10:00 +0000

Let advertisers spend the same amount of money improving their product that they do on advertising and they wouldn't have to advertise it. ~Will Rogers

I am hit by this thought by some time and just checking if any ‘stupid’ fellas out there have any wild idea?

We all know, Google undoubtedly the most viewed page in the planet(Worldwide, there are over 2 billion searches on Google a day). But have your seen any ads (non Google) on its homepage? I haven’t (did you?).

So fellas, if I may ask…

Will Google ever start ads in their home page?

Me: I think so.

What they will charge per ad, if at all started?

Me:10^100(Googol) dollars :D

But with the kind of service and innovation they have I firmly believe they deserve every hit and penny they get (I know, Google does not require my testimony).

By the way did you try google wave? I have an account and experiments are on!

Books can take you to next level?

noreply@blogger.com (TechLife) — Mon, 01 Feb 2010 20:05:00 +0000

“The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read.”

-Mark Twain

Ralph Waldo Emerson said “a man is known by the books he reads”. Books are my friends who I always look up to. At times I may feel that I am spending a bit much on books than I can afford to but today, undoubtedly I can say it’s always worth the money spent and the time spent (especially compared to the idiot box!). For sure, reading gives you better insight to your own life and takes you to next level. By reading a good book, you get to know author’s experiences and dreams and don’t you think that can add value to your life?

I always benefited from my favorite persons’ book suggestions and I guess it’s my turn now.

The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho)

What I like: An exciting fable that tells you that everything is possible as long as you really want it to happen. Written in simple and lucid language!

“” I like:

It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.

When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it...

Greatness guide and Greatness guide 2 (Robin Sharma)

What I like:- Robin Sharma has written a deeply personal guide that shares his own life journey. Each lesson is rich with proven wisdom and packed with real-world examples. Yes, again two very simple but profound books.

“” I like:

It’s never too late to become the person you have always dreamed of being.

Focus plus daily improvement plus time equals genius

Evolve your brain (Joe Dispenza, D.C)

What I like:- I am still reading this book. Usually I am a fast reader but I guess neuroscience does need some time to understand (hi to my Engineering background). This is indeed a very good read for those looking to have a clearer understanding of the brain's impact on reality.

The Last Lecture(Randy Pausch)

What I like: - some intelligent answers to “What wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our last chance?” “If we had to vanish tomorrow, what would we want as our legacy?”

“” I like:

We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.

Brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want something badly enough. They are there to keep out the other people.

Randy Pausch ‘s Life and the last lecture

Randy Pausch passed away on July 25th, 2008 of Pancreatic Cancer, but before he died he gave his famous “Last Lecture” at the Carnegie-Mellon University entitled “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”. A great 1.5 hour lecture that speaks to everyone.

Here is a mindmap based on this lecture.

This is a never ending list....and I will try to add more...meanwhile let me know the books you are fascinated about!
