The thing to focus on is format, alignment, clarity, salesmanship, and overall brand adherence.

If you’re just starting out and you don’t have a brand that’s ok, everything else still applies to the fullest. Use those simple terms and simple checkboxes to see that those parts of the design are adhered to and addresses and you’re guaranteed to have a functional item to begin with.

Additionally, if you’re a do it yourselfer, download G.I.M.P. for photo editing, and Inkscape for vector/copy (lines and words) to make your pitch look professional (if you’re cheap). You are best served obviously by getting the Adobe products Photoshop and Illustrator, but let’s face it, those are expensive. Then again, they’re expensive for a reason, they’re the industry standards, and they work fantastically!

Well the slammed has been great clients, and hard work on some of our own projects that are finally getting real. It’s a wild new world and we’re doing what we can to make it wilder!

Here’s what I think it means: Finding the sweet spot.
We’re working on finding that with our restarted consulting business over the last few months.

A few clients into it all and things are starting to get popping.

We’ve been handling injection molded concepts.
Packaging designs (primarily boxes and die lines).
Working with AMAZING graphic designers.
Developing Brands.
Patents (finalizing one as we speak)
Pitches (look for some excitement in 2011)
Prototyping.
Racing (see you at the Indy 500 (Fred will be the one with the creepy grin;)).
And Generally consulting with people and companies all over.

Obviously we can’t talk to much about exactly who, and exactly what we’re doing (but when we can point to public items, believe us, we will!)
