I think the game is fun, but there's one problem. Not the directions, which some people are just too stupid to understand, it's the reality. If you have never done gymnastics before, you wouldn't be able to do a front tuck on the beam. In the game, the girl hasn't done gymnastics and she can do it without any practice. Also, they don't have the names of the tricks right. They call a back layout a "Backward whip salto" and a straddle jump a "pike jump". They call back-handsprings "flic-flacs" and any front or backflip is a "Salto". They used those names in the 80's, not today. I think the game is easier to play than some people let on to be. I'm twelve and understood what to do. I just wish they could make it a little more realistic. My daughter received this game recently. I have played the game myself. Basically what you do in this game is buy cats from the Adoption Center. (there is a map to help you navigate your way through the town) When you view a cat, it will tell you their personality, i.e. spoiled, calm, friendly, sweet, etc., and what breed they are. You pick a cat and name it. Your cat goes through 3 stages in its life. Baby, child, and adult. The only way to get a cat to the next stage is to keep petting it. My daughter found this a bit annoying because it takes FOREVER to get your cat to the next stage. If you have a male and a female cat, they can mate and have kittens. You'll unlock new places to go on the map. That's basically all you do, besides feeding. My daughter and myself found this game a little boring. We also found out that you can keep only 3 cats at once. The others go in the Pet Room. My daughter got confused until she found the stairs in the Front Hall lead to the Pet Room. Overall this game is okay, but it is more for younger kids, around 5-8. My daughter is almost 10, so she found this game a little boring. For a DS game, SvR 2010 is pretty decent. If this was a console game, fans would probably hate it. I've played some of the recent SvR games on the PSP, which play identically to the console games. The only real difference is the graphics and lack of a 2nd analog stick and 2 shoulder buttons. I'll admit that I was quite disappointed when I started messing around with SvR 2010's controls. The game initially felt very clunky and repetitive. It's starting to grow on me, though, since I've mastered the controls and played many different match types. In some ways, the console versions could learn a lot from the DS game, but the DS version still could use more variety and interactivity during the actual matches.

Good:
- Many moves and animations are ripped straight from the older Smackdown games, so they look decent.

- The roster is huge and includes basically every major star from all 3 brands, minus a few lower mid-carders and divas. There are even a few surprises like Kennedy and Umaga.

- The graphics are great, especially the character models and most have fairly recent attires, with Matt Hardy being a notable exception (he has his pre-Wrestlemania attire, and no facepaint for Jeff).

- Speciality matches/backstage matches are really well done. The mini games for climbing the ladders, cages, grabbing belts, closing the ambulance doors, etc are innovative and sometimes better than the console mini-games. These matches (in addition to the card system) are what really make this game unique.

- Card system is simple, but a good addtion. If you use the abilities at the right time, you can really turn a match around.

- Full entrances with accurate theme music are included. The entrance animations are also ripped from the console SvR games, so they look great.

- The controls are easy to learn and remind me in many ways of the Gamecube WWE games (not nearly as fluid, though).

- Story mode seems good so far, you can tell they put a decent amount of work into this mode. I haven't played much of it, but I like what I see. I also haven't messed with the CAW much but I can tell it's a very basic version of the old SvR games. Again, it seems adequate for a DS game.

The Bad:
- The moves might look good, but the basic grappling engine needs a lot of work. There are only 3 weak front/back grapples and 3 strong front/back grapples. There's 1 ground grapple at the feet facing up and 1 facing down. Same with the head. You can irish whip, but there are NO irish whip grapples and only 1 irish whip strike. No springboard moves, apron moves, NO moves off the turnbuckle to the outside, only 1 turnbuckle grapple, 1 signature, and (from what I can tell) only 1 fininsher.

- The reversal system is practically non-existent. You can reverse from the initial strong and weak grapple positions, but you can't reverse finishers or really anything else during the move itself.

- There is no selling. You opponent will just get up immediately if they're fresh, or lay there still for a while if they're hurt. There are a LOT of collision detection issues, and some moves don't feel like they connect at all.

If any of you ever played the WWF War Zone/Attitude games, everything feels just as clunky here at times, but the animations are much better of course, and the game is much more simple to play. You know how TNA Impact felt like it needed about triple the amount of moves/animations to make it a good wrestling game? Same concept here. They did so many things right this year, but the in-ring gameplay is lacking. If they can add more grapple positions, more moves, more animations, and more reversals, then we'll see a truly great WWE game on the DS.

The AoE concept is excellent and the game is conceptually well designed, but the more I play the game the more I recognize design flaws. The scenarios and campaigns, for the most part, are rather easy--easier than "Kings" if I remember correctly. Once you play through those at the normal and hard levels, they aren't much fun to play again. So I turned my attention to the Skirmish games where I found the most challenges and enjoyment. Unfortunately, it only offers three player options (Romans, Egyptians and Norse), the heroes have only one innate power each and most or bland if not useless, and there are a very limited number of maps and the maps play by far the largest role in gameplay. If this game had a "random map" feature like Civ, I could play it endlessly (like I do Civ). But it doesn't.

Regarding the design flaws, I've found that in the Skirmish maps, Norse computer opponents are unable to properly advance so they are cannon fodder, which leaves you only Greeks and Egyptians as meaningful foes and thus not much variety, especially when you are playing Greek or Egyptian. (Combined with the limited maps, the skirmish games go from being the best feature to the worst.) Also, the scoring system and accompanying graphics seem to confuse itself frequently so often you invest time in a long, hard-fought battle only to find yourself with a score of -36428. If they'd include perhaps one more player option, an option for random maps, and cleaned up those two design issues I would have given this game a SIX. The cable is also long enough so cars without a 12V plug in the back can still charge it via the front plug. I bought this because I love doctor games, and I have got to say, it was a real disappointment. You can't customize your character at all other than changing her clothes occasionally with only five or so options and there's an alternate story line that I could care less about that takes up more of the game than the actual doctoring. The patients all look the same, the symptoms vary very slightly, and I was able to finish it in about five hours, tops. Very boring, no variety, and not worth the money I spent for it. Replaying is no fun because everything was predictable from the start. Trauma Center is much more fun (even if I don't like the challenge all the time) because you actually get to treat people, not just put ointment on their bug bites. I mean really, who goes to the doctor for a mosquito bite? And an animal scratch that's not infected? These people have like no bandages at home. I don't recommend this game to anyone but young children who are fascinated, but buy it used. It is not worth buying new, no matter what. Or rent the game. I got this product free with my purchase of my brand new DS Lite. First off, the instructions were not in English. However, I have used protective covers for my touch cell phone, so I understand how they work.

There are 2 protectors inside and a nice cloth (love the cloth). Nowever, one protector is larger than the other one, so which one does it go on, I assumed the top so I started there. I applied it just like I did for my touch phone but these are super sticky. You get 1 try and that is it. Needless to say, I had so many bubbles that I carefully took it off and threw it out.

I tried the bottom one, same results. There is no "easy" way to put these on and they seem to result in bubbles galore everytime.

The bubbles are probably because they did not fit on just the screen, but overlapped on my DS which resulted in air underneath. If they had fit just the screen, maybe they would have been okay, but eh, doubtful.

I bought this game because it looked like it would be fun for my six year old. He really enjoyed the game at first until he got about half way through. The game uses a "sonic bark", to use it the player is supposed to blow or bark into the microphone. It does not work for us. We tried any which way. Unfortunately, there is a part in the game where the only way to move forward is to use the sonic bark. This is a great disappointment, since my son is now unable to finish the game. I hate to pay $30 for a game that is impossible to finish, because either the game has a glitch or the microphone on our DS does not work properly. There does not seem to be another way to get around this and that is why I gave this game a lower score. The case is a bit small - it only fits the DSI and does not have any slots/pockets for games. Not a problem if you only want to take one game (in the DSi) with you.

I've read recently that to generalize (which is dangerous) researchers have found that girls love simulation games, while boys like games with a set story track that involve shooting things. This is certainly true with my 9-year old daughter. She just loves "SimAnimals." (Let me emphasize that I am one of those modern dads whose mantra for his daughter is "girls can do anything boys can do.")

In Sims Animals, you attract animals to your forest by growing trees, raining on flowers, and nurturing them. I am dumbfounded by how much my daughter enjoys doing this. She has even "re-played" the game from start to finish, which I've never seen her do with any other DS game. I start to play with her and I just think "what a pain in the neck to balance all these tasks - give me something to shoot so I can move on." Maybe it's also true what researchers say: in general, women are better multi-taskers and men can concentrate on one thing better.

The game is slightly educational, but it's mainly an interesting pastime. I'm an adult boy and I couldn't get into it at all, but I love watching her enjoy this game. When a new animal comes to live into her forest, she always shares the happy news with me. I found this game in a used gaming store this past weekend. I've been studying Japanese for a while now (recently taking up the torch again) and thought it would be something fun at work.

It begins with a multiple question quiz and if you get two wrong together, it stops the quiz right there. I'm not certain if that is the best way to go about it. You might know 20 words and just get lucky or are just lucky to begin with. Regardless, where it stops is which lesson it begins you at. Everything up to then is considered "mastered" by the program.

There are (guessing) around 260 lessons and 12 games to play. As you get higher, you unlock more games and lessons.

The thing I loath about this is the writing. A lot of people have mentioned this (stroke order and whatnot) but I dislike it for another reason. I don't know about you but my handwriting on this types of things has always been horrible. There is no "clear" when you're doing the games and any accidental "touch" to the screen counts as a stroke. The game doesn't particularly care about "how" the character looks either, as long as it's in the right squares (the character input as four boxes.) They show you one way of stroke order, but I found I could put the characters in a different way. It's just frustrating.

The lessons are interspersed with the games and you can't go onto the next lesson until you've "mastered" the words in the lesson. You "master" by doing the games, which throws in all the words you've "mastered" with an emphasis on the words you've had that particular lesson. So, you don't really jump from lesson to lesson. There is some time inbetween.

Also, in the lessons, there are places were you can record your voice speaking the words to compare with a native speaker. You can even play them together for a more realistic gauge. If they do teach Kanji, I'm not at that point in the game.

Finally, it comes with a dictionary, phrasebook, a "where you are" section, and a sketchpad.

This is a nice game. It's not a one stop language learning kit but honestly, if you think you can find one, good luck to you. I bought this to take to work when I'm on my breaks and/or lunch. I think it's comparable to a language learning book.Get more detail about My Japanese Coach.

While I had hoped for the intuitive and entertaining game that I've played before, I ended up fighting with the interface within the first 10 minutes. The keypad is so much worse than the joystick I was used to; I lost count on how many times I fell off ledges and bridges. Then I experienced the bugs and was frozen midair in a level. This is, by far, my 8 year old daughter's favorite DS game (and with 3 DS-using kids in the house, we have dozens of different games). She absolutely loses herself in this game and thoroughly enjoys every activity. She is probably most proud of the table etiquette she has learned and was happy to share those lessons with the entire family at Thanksgiving dinner!
