Mobile Access

Abra

IronKey Enterprise Device Update - 2.0.8.0 Available now

We are pleased to inform you that an update for IronKey Enterprise devices was released on December 2, 2010 that includes stability and functionality improvements. It is also easier for users of Windows Vista and Windows 7 apply IronKey device updates. IronKey highly recommends all users update to this version to take advantage of these improvements.

IMPORTANT: Devices using the IronKey Anti-Malware Service must update to IronKey 2.0.7.0 or 2.0.8.0 by January 2011 to ensure the anti-virus definitions can be updated.

NOTE: On 09/29/2010 the IronKey Enterprise Management Service Admin Console at my.ironkey.com was updated with a new “Update Management” feature. This enables IronKey System Admins to control which Device Updates are available to IronKey Enterprise users.

The following is a summary of the significant changes included in device update 2.0.8.0.

Functional Changes

• Updatability of IronKey devices on Vista & Windows 7 without Windows Admin privileges
The IronKey device updater now supports being run by users without Microsoft Windows operating system Administrator privileges on Vista or Windows 7

• Mozilla Firefox updated to 3.6.12
The onboard Mozilla Firefox shipped on the CD-ROM volume has been updated to 3.6.12.

• IronKey Enterprise Terms of Use Agreement Updated
There was an update to the Terms of Use Agreement for Enterprise devices. The new terms are available at https://www.ironkey.com/license-enterprise

Bug Fixes

• Fixed Auto-Lock Preferences bug (Windows only)
This issue affected IronKey Enterprise devices where the Auto-Lock policy was “Active”, users were allowed to modify Auto-Lock preferences, and the user did modify their Auto-Lock preferences.
At Unlock, the IronKey Control Panel for Windows would revert the Auto-Lock preferences back to the setting defined in the current policy. The result was that user changes to Auto-Lock preferences were not permanent. Enterprise devices would revert to the current policy while Basic and Personal devices would revert to the default manufacturing policy.
This issue was not present in the IronKey Control Panel for Mac OS.

System Requirements for Updating IronKeys

IronKey devices can be updated on Windows 2000 (SP4), XP (SP2+), 2003, Vista, or Windows 7.
Updating on Windows 2000 or 2003 requires Windows administrative privileges.
Updating on Windows XP requires Windows administrative privileges or using a computer on which the IronKey Assistant software has been previously installed.
Updating on Vista or Windows 7 can be performed by a user with without Windows administrative privileges.
An Internet connection is required to download the update

KNOWN ISSUES

S100 devices at version 1.1.200.34 or older must first update to IronKey version 2.0.2.2, before they can update to the latest release.
