so, rarely do i post long blogs. they are normally a video or a picture etc, so i have decided that most of my updates will be on my twitter account from now on. you can follow it by clicking on the picture in this post. I was hoping that with a name like Sarah Sample, the Utah native would be some killer club DJ. She's not. Though the acoustic folk of "Born to Fly" couldn't be further removed from the dancehall, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Sample's strummy-strum guitar and vocal tunes become much bigger thanks to the help of producer Scott Wiley. The tracks were recorded live, with Sample backed by nine other musicians (including most of Salt Lake City's Atherton.) The result is a collection of songs that feel organic and complete, without sounding overdone.

The EP begins with the light hearted title track sing-along before becoming more somber. Sample's voice is completed nicely by the subtle hints of piano and banjo on the very subdued "Mercy Me." There are brilliant harmonies throughout, but the most rewarding is when Sample duets with Dustin Christensen on "Get Caught." This is a great album for a Sunday afternoon.

The past few days i have been in the studio with incredible musicians working on a record for a girl named Sarah Sample, and then Paul Jacobsen and I also did a few songs once we were done with her album.

Last Year we did a similar project where a bunch of us played live and recorded for Paul and a band called Atherton and at the end of the session we decided to record a Christmas tune at 3am (Christmas Vacation Theme Song).

Well this year was no exception and we had to do a Christmas song last minute in the middle of the morning, This year it was "Carol The Bells" I think its called, but quickly was named "Ding Dong a Dong". it is done all A Capella by 7 of us, and afterwords Neil Diamond sung over the top of it

It seems like I am always very lucky at winning games that you win
prizes for. Today and last night I one two guitars at this game where
you have to knock the block all the way off the pedestal. I traded
them both in for a better guitar which is still not the greatest but
for the 20 bucks spent it is well worth it.

So I am in Boise right now for my cousins wedding, blogging from my
phone, and standing in front of the house I grew up in. It Brings back
alot of memories which is suprising because I was only 6 when we moved
from it to go to Utah

These things are the money. They are little japanese Ice cream balls
