Footage from on board the RAF Memorial Flight Lancaster as it flies over the Derwent Dam, Derbyshire to mark the 70th Anniversary of the famous WWII Dambusters raid.

To mark the 70th anniversary of the Dambusters air raid on 16-17 May 1943, a series of events is taking place around Britain, including a flypast by a Lancaster bomber of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Derwent Reservoir.

Derwent reservoir was one of the sites where pilots from 617 Squadron -- specially stood up to mount the raids -- practised low flying ahead of their daring mission to attack the Möhne, Eder and Sorpe dams, which produced hydroelectric power for the Ruhr and water for German industry.

The more I see Leonard Nimoy the more I realise the man is a superstar. His latest escapade shows him in a challenge with his younger self. Audi have released a superbly funny advert for the new S7. Nimoy and Zachary Quinto work wonderfully together and use a heap of in-jokes. Now all we need is a William Shatner V Chris Pine follow up.

I'm sure that you're familiar with the filming technique dubbed "Bullet Time"; The multi-camera, 360 degree rig first used in The Matrix. The project called 24x360 takes this a step further by using it to capture long exposure light-paintings.

Does the Internet take up too much of your life? Paul Miller, for The Verge, thought so. So he decided to do without it for twelve months. Now he is back.

I was wrong.

One year ago I left the internet. I thought it was making me unproductive. I thought it lacked meaning. I thought it was "corrupting my soul."

It's a been a year now since I "surfed the web" or "checked my email" or "liked" anything with a figurative rather than literal thumbs up. I've managed to stay disconnected, just like I planned. I'm internet free.

And now I'm supposed to tell you how it solved all my problems. I'm supposed to be enlightened. I'm supposed to be more "real," now. More perfect.

But instead it's 8pm and I just woke up. I slept all day, woke with eight voice-mails on my phone from friends and co-workers. I went to my coffee shop to consume dinner, the Knicks game, my two newspapers, and a copy of The New Yorker. And now I'm watching Toy Story while I glance occasionally at the blinking cursor in this text document, willing it to write itself, willing it to generate the epiphanies my life has failed to produce.

I have discussed here before about how much we often underestimate the power of music. How it can transform lives in many ways. Here is a fantastic illustration of what I mean. The Landfill Harmonic (clever eh?) is an orchestra made up of children from a slum whose instruments are created from refuse upon which their village resides. What a wonderful idea.

NASA has captured some stunning video footage of a comet hitting the Sun. It was captured by NASA's Solar & Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) on May 10th and May 11th and posted to NASA Goddard's Flickr page. The Sun itself is obscured in the video and represented by a white circle. A coronal mass ejection (CME) blasted out to the right just as the comet is approaching the Sun, but Scientists say there is no connection between sun-grazing comets and CME's. In fact, analysis of this CME using images from the Solar Dynamics Observatory shows that the CME erupted before the comet came close enough to the solar surface to interact with strong magnetic fields.
