Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (Rajuk) announced names of 520 plots winners of Jhilmil Residential Area project in Keraniganj area on Wednesday. Rajuk selected through the lottery system on Wednesday to  520 people of 1,200.

The draw was held in the Auditorium of Osmani Memorial at 10:30 am. Experts from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) helped Rajuk (Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha) in conducting the lottery.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Housing Abdul Mannan Khan said Rajuk, the agency’s capital development is not assigned any more parcels of property after the Jhilmil Housing Project.

“Instead, it would be the construction of multi-storey apartment complexes and sells ready to move through floors lottery system, he said.

“Four neighborhoods were built around the capital. The skyscrapers are built in the suburbs and the flats are sold to people with limited incomes,” he added.

A total of 100,000 flats of three categories will be built in the suburbs, the state minister said, adding that the owners have to pay for the houses in installments over 20 years. The shortage of power is a big problem in building the new flats, he said.
