<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">I have searched on forums and found that Gnome&#8217;s &#8220;<strong>Compositing manager (compiz)</strong>&#8221; is enabled on the system. <strong>Compositing manager</strong> is a component which is used to enhance the GUI (Graphical User Interface). Following are the steps to fix this issue</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>1)</strong> The very first step is to find out which process still running inside the VPS. To find the VPS process login to the host server from RDP and open Task Manager (<strong>Right Click on task bar &gt;&gt; Task Manger</strong>).</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>2)</strong> Sort the processes using <strong>CTID</strong> which will list all the processes on the basis of VPS ID or Container ID</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">If you find any processes named &#8220;<strong>winlogon</strong>&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>csrss</strong>&#8221; under problematic VPS then it&#8217;s not possible to kill these processes as they are critical windows services.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>3)</strong> Disable <strong>&#8220;vzsrv&#8221;</strong> service from Service manager Or by executing following command from command prompt</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>4)</strong> Reboot the Host server.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>5)</strong> As we have disabled vzsrv service non of the VPS will start but you will able to edit the VPS configuration file. Open VPS configuration file from <strong>[Path to VZ directory]:\vz\Conf\CTID.conf</strong> and add following string into the beginning of the file to disable on boot feature of the VPS.</span></p>
<div style="background: url(/wp-content/themes/notepad_second/images/pre_code_bg_blk.png) repeat-y scroll 0% 0% transparent; width: 490px; height: 20px; overflow: auto; line-height: 20px; padding: 20px; font-family: Courier New; font-size: small; color: #ffffff; text-align: justify;">Autoboot=&#8221;0&#8243;</div>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>6)</strong> Enable the <strong>vzsrv</strong> and reboot the host server again.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">This will restart all the VPS except the problematic VPS. We would suggest you to scan the VPS using CureIT (after mounting it) as there is a possibility the the VPS is infected with Viruses.</span></p>

The word “<strong>Qaas</strong>” in Arabic means <strong>Tough</strong> which spells it as <strong>ToughWall</strong>. After installation all your previous rules (IPSec or Firewall rules) would get disabled and it works in layers which are mentioned below:</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>1.</strong> It will scan all the standard ports DNS, MSSQL, MySQL, SMTP, POP3, HTTP, SSL and Sharing on the server and save its out put in a file, which is saved in the /temp directory, with the info on how many connections does each IP address have on them.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>2.</strong> Any IP that has more than 100 connection at the time of scan will be blocked using Windows IP security Policy, named “Qaas Policy”. Any IP address that has been already blocked, added in white list file or belong to the server will be ignored.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>3.</strong> Currently QaasWall creates 2 schedule tasks, QassWall and Qaas Empty, one of it is to scan services every 5 mins and other to delist IP addresses after 24 hours.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>4.</strong> The IP will remain blocked for 24 hours (max) and Qaas will release the IP address then.. These setting can be changed by rescheduling the Task.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">QaasWall also has a white list file where you can add IP that you want to be safe. Any IP that belong to the server or is already blocked or is added in the white list, will be ignored.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">This firewall is developed by <strong><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://eukhost.com">Eukhost</a> Windows System Administrator Martin</strong> to overcome the limitations of Windows Default firewall. He said, &#8220;I have been working on how to block IP Addresses on Windows server for 2 years due to the fact that Windows 2003 Server did not have any option in the default firewall to block a single IP address and these is the reason I was curious to create something that would allow us to block a single IP address on the server. Then we found IP security policy which looked a bit complicated and difficult to configure however we managed to master it in no time. We have always faced numerous attack on our Windows server specially a brute force attack on the MSSQL master login “sa” and it use to be a pain in back side to block single IP address every time. This was the only reason (or you can call it a desperate need) why QaasWall was brought to life.&#8221;</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">QaasWall Firewall can be downloaded from <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/qaaswall-window/files/"><strong>source forge</strong></a>.<br /></span></p>

<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">While installing <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a target="_blank" title="Oracle 10gR2 RAC" href="http://bit.ly/bTxeAW" target="_blank"><strong>Oracle 10gR2 RAC</strong></a></span><strong> (Cluster)</strong> on Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 or CentOS 5 you will get following error when you execute root.sh (After Cluster Installation) on last node. This Error is thrown when root.sh execute VIPCA which Virtual IP configuration Tool.</span></p>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; width: 490px; height: 100px; overflow: auto; line-height: 20px; padding: 20px; font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">Running vipca(silent) for configuring nodeapps<br />
<strong>/u01/app/oracle/product/crs/jdk/jre//bin/java: <span style="color: #ff0000;">error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.</span><span style="color: #ff0000;">0</span>: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory</strong><br />
[root@rac2 crs]#</div>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">To fix this issue edit <strong><span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/clust/bin/vipca</span></strong> and add following (<span style="color: #339966;">Green colored</span> or on line number 124):</span></p>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; width: 490px; height: 120px; overflow: auto; line-height: 20px; padding: 20px; font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">if [ "$arch" = "i686" -o "$arch" = "ia64" ]<br />
then<br />
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19<br />
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL<br />
fi<br />
<span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong><span style="color: #339966;">unset LD_ASSUME_KERNEL</span><br />
</strong></span></div>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><br />
<span style="text-decoration: underline;">Error 2:</span> Error 0(Native: listNetInterfaces:[3])</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">Once above changes made and when you run <strong><span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/clust/bin/vipca</span></strong> you will get following Error</span></p>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; width: 490px; height: 80px; overflow: auto; line-height: 20px; padding: 20px; font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">[root@rac2 bin]# /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/clust/bin/vipca<br />
<strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Error 0(Native: listNetInterfaces:[3])<br />
[Error 0(Native: listNetInterfaces:[3])]</span></strong></div>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">Now you will have to configure Virtual IP&#8217;s Manually. You can configure it using following commands</span></p>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; width: 490px; height: 200px; overflow: auto; line-height: 20px; padding: 20px; font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">[root@rac2 bin]# pwd<br />
/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/clust/bin<br />
[root@rac2 bin]# <strong>./oifcfg setif -global eth0/115.124.120.0:public</strong><br />
[root@rac2 bin]# <strong>./oifcfg setif -global eth1/10.10.10.1:cluster_interconnect</strong><br />
[root@rac2 bin]# <strong>./oifcfg getif<br />
eth0 115.124.120.0 global public<br />
eth1 10.10.10.0 global cluster_interconnect</strong><br />
[root@rac2 bin]#</div>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">Now Run <strong>VIPCA</strong></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;"><br />
2) Srvctl Error:</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">While checking status of RAC using command <strong><span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">srvctl</span></strong> you will again get the following error:</span></p>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; width: 490px; height: 100px; overflow: auto; line-height: 20px; padding: 20px; font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">[oracle@rac2 ~]$srvctl config database -d RAC<br />
/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/jdk/jre/bin/java: <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.0</span></strong>: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory</div>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">To fix this bug edit following files</span></p>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; width: 490px; height: 40px; overflow: auto; line-height: 20px; padding: 20px; font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">/u01/app/oracle/product/clust/bin/srvctl<br />
/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/bin/srvctl</div>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">and add following (<span style="color: #339966;">Green colored</span>):</span></p>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; width: 490px; height: 80px; overflow: auto; line-height: 20px; padding: 20px; font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">#Remove this workaround when the bug 3937317 is fixed<br />
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19<br />
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL<br />
<strong><span style="color: #339966;">unset LD_ASSUME_KERNEL</span></strong></div>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;">Now Execute <strong><span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">srvctl</span></strong> commands to check the current configuration and status of the RAC database</span></p>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; width: 490px; height: 60px; overflow: auto; line-height: 20px; padding: 20px; font-family: Courier New; font-size: small;">[oracle@rac1 ~]$ <strong>srvctl config database -d RAC</strong><br />
rac1 RAC1 /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1<br />
rac2 RAC2 /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1</div>
