You may have noticed a ‘Feedback’ tab located along the left side of your browser, these have been added to every page enabling you to send us feedback, comments, or bugs direct from any page without leaving the page. Clicking on the tab reveals a simple form three field form, a box for your comment, a box for you to enter the subject (e.g. feedback, bug etc.) and a box to enter your email address, this final box is optional and will only need completing if you want a reply from us. So give it a go and let us know what you think of the site, what you like, what you don’t like, and any suggestions for improving the site or individual pages. Oh! and thanks to getbarometer.com which is powering the tab and form.

Delivery Schedule Update

We are currently taking orders for delivery on week commencing Monday 2nd August. As always terms and conditions apply, the main one being that you have confirmed the sizes are correct (you can do this by using our online form here) and that your payment has cleared before an order can be manufactured and delivered. Payment can be made by one of the following methods:

Debit or credit card (please note a surcharge of up to 2.8% is applied to credit card transactions) in person or over the phone (Delivery usually around 5 working days)
Cash in person (Delivery usually around 5 working days)
Cheque through the post or in person (Can take 5 working days to clear so delivery is usually around 10 working days)
Bank transfer (Can take 3 working days to clear so delivery is usually around 5 working days)

Website Theme Update

After reviewing the websites analytics data, specifically the bit about which browsers people are using to view the site, I have noticed that people are starting to visit the site using their mobile phones which the site isn’t really designed for, so over the past two weeks I have started working on a new theme for the website. The first phase is a new header, I have decided to remove the current large flash header which doesn’t work with every browser and replace it with an Ajax based rotator. At the same time I have moved the navigation and search features up into the header as well.

Also included in the new header are our phone and fax numbers as well as our email address, the phone number has been setup so if viewed on a mobile phone clicking on the phone number will activate the phones dialing app, the email address is also an email link. The main reason for adding these to the header is to make it easier for people to find our contact details, currently they can only be found on the contact us page.

easi-joist enquiry form updated!

Today I updated the easi-joist enquiry form, so you can now enquire about stud walls, flat roofs, and the usual floor joists, not at the same time though. As part of the update I have now added text boxes for quantity, span, and length of run, fields which I should have included first time round but forgot all about.

Trussed Rafter Enquiry Form Now Working

I can now confirm our trussed rafter enquiry form is now working, it seems when I transferred it into wordpress I missed a / which was preventing the form from being sent to us, sorry to anyone who has filled in the form only to experience that error.

New Domains

As part of the big re-arrange of the website hosting, and our domains, I can now confirm that three new domains, www.eandhbaxendale.ltd.uk , www.eandhbaxendale.co.uk and www.easi-joist-timberframe.biz are now live and are just another way of making our website even more accessible to the masses. Using the new features available to me via cpanel I am now able to ‘park’ multiple domains on one website, meaning whichever addresss you use you will be able to access our full website, with our previous web host, I could only forward www.baxtruss.co.uk to www.eandhbaxendale.com which had the dissadvantage of not being able to provide full page addresses such as www.baxtruss.co.uk/site-map.

Over the next few weeks I hope to setup a new page on the website specifcally about using easi-joist to create timber frame properties, using the Boars Den Barn project as an example, once that is in place I will then setup a redirect on the www.easi-joist-timberframe.biz domain to take visitors directly to it. I wasn’t actually planning on purchasing the .biz domain but .net magazine and domainmonster.com were offering a free domain to each reader, so who would turn that down, and while pondering over what domain to get the Boars Den Barn project popped into my head, so thats when I decided on www.easi-joist-timberframe.biz
