Provide clinical management and operational direction for the Trauma program. Provide leadership and coordination within the area of responsibility in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD). Serve as tactical point person as it relates to patient care, staff development, physician relationships, quality initiatives, program development, and system-wide success.  Assure evidence-based patient care by creating an environment that encourages the use of research in practice.
•	Promotes an environment that supports excellence in personalized patient care and service by leading and directing implementation of a nursing leadership model and collaborative practice delivery system to commit to absolute quality, clinical care and service.  Fosters collaborative partnerships with medical staff, Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (ACNP’s)/Physician Assistants (PA’s), members of the organization, and community.  Uses evidence-based knowledge in decision making to improve and maintain high-quality, cost-effective patient care.  
•	Develops in collaboration with the TMD and is accountable for annual capital and operational budgets for trauma program.  Develops a strategic plan for short and long range goals including material, fiscal, and human resources.   Identifies ways to strengthen SHC’s financial health.
•	Direct, develop, manage and evaluate personnel assigned to trauma services, and monitors competence of staff.  Sets direction and provides oversight for recruitment and retention strategies, selects and hires personnel based on departmental staffing plans, program needs and personnel needs. Promotes organizational climate of decision-making, autonomy and accountability.
•	Develops and assures strategies for excellence in the patient experience. With the TMD the Trauma Program Manager will help coordinate the PI program through collaboration with the ACNP’s/PA’s, PI Quality Analyst RN’s, registrars, trauma surgeons and other sub-specialist to organize document the concurrent review processes along with the complete follow-up performance improvement activity including loop closure. 
•	Responsible for full working knowledge of the Trauma – One registry program. Accountable for timely entry into and accuracy of the registry to  comply with Arizona State as well as ACS criteria and expectations.
•	Participates in the formulation and design of SHC policies, including strategies based on an awareness of consumer needs, market demands and quality of care issues relevant to the health care system.  Accountable for Implementation and management of organization policies and procedures as they relate to the delivery of services and advise Trauma Medical Director and Administrative VP. 
•	Creates, implements and evaluates the Balanced Scorecard outcomes. Modifies patient care delivery systems to enhance results. Collaborates with the TMD to ensure strategic initiatives are developed and achieved.
•	Develops, facilitates and supports management infrastructure and unit-based structure. Participates with medical staff, members of the management team, and the community to promote collegiality, communication, and operational effectiveness and efficiency. 
•	Assist the trauma research nurse and TMD in the implementation of clinical studies through coordination of the administrative and clinical personnel resources of the trauma program to include registrars, PI/ Quality Analyst RN’s, ACNP’s/PA’s, Injury prevention/outreach RN and trauma surgeons.
•	Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications
Basic Education	
•	Bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited NLN /CCNE institution
•	State Licensure
•	ACLS, TNCC, ENPC or will obtain within first six months of employment.
Basic Experience	
5 yrs trauma, ED or CC nursing; 3 years supervisory or management, 2 years trauma program manager or equivalent program manager experience.
Preferred Education	Master’s Degree from an accredited NLN institution
Supervised: Level	Manages through several layers of subordinate coordinators
