This is not just a comic!

This manga (Japan’s comic) is intended for computer user who don’t know about Ubuntu OS (I don’t know why they say it ‘ubunchu’ (^_^)? ). There is 3 character represent for Windows holic, Linux geek (Slackware), and Macintosh user, together run a computer club in same school. Someday, they collect money and bought an awesome quad core computer. But they still can’t decide about what Operating System (OS) that will be run on it. Then there is a debate between members, because each member has their own decision.

In the debate, Windows holic want Windows OS to run on the computer, but Linux geek thinks different. She wants the computer installed with Slackware OS. From another side, Macintosh user recommends Ubuntu OS that will be the Operating System of the computer. So many reasons come out from them to win the brainstorming. But, it seems there is no solution for the three of them.

In the middle of the “fight” between Windows holic and Linux geek, Macintosh user didn’t give much comment about her recommendation, but she seems persistent too. So, Windows holic give permission to install Ubuntu OS on it with a note, “just for trial run”.

What happen next? That’s will be the climax of the story.

This site also can be use to make a beauty contest between your friends in your school or colleges with the judges are the visitors from around the world. You can also expand your social network by getting know each other between members there. As the result of the relationship, you can share experiences and tips & trick about how to become a model. You also can learn a new pose from them.

EntreCard

I like to say it, exchange your “Card Name” to another EntreCard (EC) user. How that can boost my traffic? Here is how it work. Look to my EC banner. There is 3 different banner design that provided from EC, but the essential part is a gold button to “drop” your “Card Name” or what they called EntreCard (EC), and a place to add EC card user ads.

Once you logon to your EC account, you will see a text “Drop” on the gold button. Find another web that have EC, then click the gold button or what they called “drop your EC” until the text changed to another word like “Thanks”, “Go! Go!”, “Alright!”, “Yeehaa!”, “Awesome!”, “Wicked!”, depends on how much EC that you’ve dropped on same day. The owner of the web will know that you have been drop your EC, because your EC will be logged to his/her EC account. The owner will get a point from that, and you know what? You also get a point from dropping your EC. So, I called it “Mutualisme Symbiosis”, because either you and the web owner will get a point. That’s cool right?

What is the point for?

That is good question. The point that you collected, can be used to pay another EC user to put your EC card on ads area of the EC banner on his/her web. Of course the price is different each other, depends on how much EC user to advertise their EC card on same site in pending process. For example, my EC ads web price is 64 point, because there is 6 ads that still in queue. So you have to spend 64 point to put your EC card on my blog for a day. You also can transfer your point to another EC user.

So, more you drop your EC, more you will get points. But there is a rule, you only have 300 EC cards to drop every day. So, drop all your limited EC cards everyday, everywhere. On my own experience, the owner of the web that I have been dropped my EC on there, will dropping back his/her EC card on your web. 2 Points you get from 1 time dropping EC, and don’t forget that also add your traffic by 1.

Here is the math :

Daily
   dropping 300 EC = 300 points
   dropping back 300 EC = 300 points = 300 traffics
   Sum = 600 points + 300 traffics

Monthly
   Sum * 30 = 18000 points + 9000 traffics

With 0.05 Euro/pixel, you can put your web link on any place on 3D earth for 5 years. But 1 pixel will be not visible, so they made regulation that the minimum purchase is 125 Euros (2500 pixels) and the maximum purchase is the whole Earth of course. Red and Green

I can’t say that they both wrong. That’s what called “Taste”. Different people, different taste. I’ve seen red color matched with many color in many object. White, black, blue, yellow, green, pink. Depends on their product themes or shapes. Or maybe they make miserable match color to make their trademark, or to make their product easy to remember for their customer. Marketing bussiness.

Do you know that red’s (web color: FF0000) best match is green? See the image on the begining of this article. But what kind of green? There is a lot of green. Green-leaf, green-sea, green-army, green-weed, etc. Don’t forget about the contrast and brightness. “Whew, why it become so hard?” Yes, color matching is not easy. But I can say, it’s not as hard as you think.

It’s easier if you use web color names for pick a color. Example red for FF0000, green for 00FF00, blue for 0000FF. Three basic color RGB (Red Green Blue) represent for the name color for web in hexadecimal format (a hex triplet).

A hex triplet is a six-digit, three-byte hexadecimal number used in HTML, CSS, SVG, and other computing applications, to represent colors. The bytes represent the red, green and blue components of the color. One byte represents a number in the range 00 to FF (in hexadecimal notation), or 0 to 255 in decimal notation. This represents the least (0) to the most (255) intensity of each of the color components. The hex triplet is formed by concatenating three bytes in hexadecimal notation, in the following order:

Byte 1: red value (color type red)
Byte 2: green value (color type green)
Byte 3: blue value (color type blue)

For example, consider the color where the red/green/blue values are decimal numbers: red=36, green=104, blue=160 (a greyish-blue color). The decimal numbers 36, 104 and 160 are equivalent to the hexadecimal numbers 24, 68 and A0 respectively. This allows each color value to cover its full range from 00 to FF. The three-digit form is described in the CSS specification, not in HTML. Now, we back to what green is the best match for red (FF0000)? If you see the image on the beginning of this post, the biggest area red color is FF0000 and the widest area green color at the center is 00CC00. How I can get that? I get that match from http://colorschemedesigner.com. There you can matching any of your favorite first color to make a beautiful matching color. I have no idea how it works, but I satisfied with the result.

Opera 10 Beta

One of browser vendor, Opera, has release Opera 10 beta 2 (codenamed Peregrine). New features, a fresh look and feel, and enhanced speed and performance. Beta 2 includes many bug fixes and polished skin elements.

First time I try this browser, Opera provides some new features that have not been there in previous versions. For example, Opera Turbo. I tested this version to open Google page. For information, my bandwidth is 0.40 Mb/s. Before I used Opera Turbo, loading time for download google page is 48 seconds. After I turned on the Turbo, loading time becomes 14 seconds. It works!!!

I noticed that the google logo seems different after I turn on the Turbo. It is looks worse. So I concluded that the Turbo compress the image size on the page to loading faster. I can tell that this feature is a benefit for slow connection.

DEPAPEPE

The first song that i heard from this duo acoustic group is “Pachelbel’s Canon, a song that very familiar to me. They re-arrangement and make it much more comfortable on my ear. You can see the video in here.

Who are Depapepe?
They are Takuya Miura (born April 5th, 1983) and Yoshinari Takuoka (born on July 15th, 1977). The duo formed in November 2002. They released three indies before their major debut, which collectively reached sales figures of about 100,000. They made their major debut in 2005 with their album “Let’s Go!!!”, and ranked within the top 10 of Oricon’s Instrumental Artist Debut Chart.

The band’s name was cobbled together by combining the Japanese word for overbite, ‘deppa’, because of Miura’s overbite, and the name of Takuoka’s previous band ‘DERUPEPE’. Contrary to a popular rumor circulating among their fans, the two guitarists are not brothers. They are signed onto Sony Music Japan.

Tokuoka gives full play to his talent as melody maker, while Miura sensitively yet boldly embodies his emotions with help of his guitar. With catchy melodies, great strumming rythmns and energetic style, Depapepe’s songs are seemingly popular across all genders, ages and languages. With their quick interchanges, skilfully smooth and melodic solos and synergistic accompaniment so brilliant that even without vocals, the song feels complete even for instrumental newbies. Depapepe has a very well-rounded range of guitar techniques and sometimes, they apply very basic stuff such as harmonics, tremelo etc aptly to augment the song. Their songs aren’t technically difficult but the two guys just do it very well.

Google Chrome Operating System

Netbook, not Notebook.
Different with notebook, netbook’s main function is just for surfing (internet) and typing. So, netbook don’t need “Complicated” OS. Its OS must be simple, easy, fast, and lightweight.

Why don’t they develop their existed OS, Android?
Google Chrome OS is a new project, separate from Android. Android was designed from the beginning to work across a variety of devices from phones to set-top boxes to netbooks. Google Chrome OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the web, and is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems. While there are areas where Google Chrome OS and Android overlap, they believe choice will drive innovation for the benefit of everyone, including Google.

The characteristic of the OS that I get from google blog are :

Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We’re designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.

The Google Chrome OS team is currently working with a number of technology companies to design and build devices that deliver an extraordinary end user experience. Among others, these companies include Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba. But on the practice, the appearance of Chrome OS, get different response from PC vendors whos invited to chat by Google. Even, some vendor haven’t give their comment. The two vendors that haven’t commented about Chrome OS are Asus and Lenovo. Meanwhile, Hewlett-Packard and Dell doesn’t talk much, but their few comment sounds like similar tone.

Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips and they’re working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market next year. The software architecture is simple — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies. And of course, these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform.

Characteristic Details
A mysterious man shows the spesifik details about this OS in his blog. He claims as the first source that show Chrome OS screenshots. He admited works for one of component suplier companies for Acer. As we know, Acer is one of many companies that working with to design and build the OS.

“Today a Google representatif visiting to Acer team in order to install and show some features of developing Google OS. I invited by Acer to come and watch the demo”, says him.

In that demo, they using Acer Extensa 4620Z which produced between end of 2007 and begin of 2008. He reports some facts which is:

• Instalation process in that laptop just need 10 minutes and one time restart
• 25 seconds for booting time.
• At the bottom, there is blue button called “Chrome Bara” as the middle of the Chrome logo.
  Its function is like the Start menu in Windows, because it appears folder window if clicked.
• At right corner, there’s digital clock and internet networking quality indicator.
• There is two way navigations, Exploration and Browser. With Exploration, navigations is done similar to Windows Explorer, while Browser’s navigation offer a search using the search feature.

But, all that information still not confirmed by Google. So, stay tuned for more updates in the fall.
