Putting the EasyPoint™ into a Nintendo 3ds

Since I started playing with the nice Nintendo 3ds I was asking myself how the EasyPoint™ module would do in the Nintendo? Would it be a good replacement especially as it has the added click functionality?

The MOPS Shadow T800 Smart Phone Gaming Console is using the EasyPoint™ mini joystick module for navigation and gaming. We know that mobile gaming is a booming market and we can witness that these new devices are a symbiosis between Smart Phones and portable Gaming Consoles more often than ever.

This is the 6th story about Charly. He has finished his job successfully at the timber mill and everyone is happy.

Here is the 5th story of Charly and his job at the timber mill using his digital camera to take pictures and video clips. Today he has to present his selected raw material to his client before he can go onto making the final version of the promotion video. He will tell us how he uses a presenter to be more efficient during his presentation. Of course he will consider how much easier it would be to use the EasyPoint™ for the presentation.

Here is the third of Charly’s stories about his professional digital camera. In the last 2 stories he told us the real value and benefits of the EasyPoint™ if it were built into his camera. He would certainly buy such a camera on the spot because it would save him a lot of time. This time I met Charly early in the morning to talk about how a camera using the EasyPoint™ would make his life easier in a particular situation.

If you are offered something for free, there’s normally a catch – sooner or later, you will be asked for something in return. Our EasyPoint™ team has concocted a genuine give-away, however: push-button functionality at no extra bill-of-materials cost when you implement a navigational input device.

EasyPoint™ Zero Point auto calibration for high volume production

Considering high volume production of the EasyPoint™ joystick solution one of the first questions I would ask, is how to manage the mechanical offset between the magnet and IC because of the assembly tolerances and what happens if there is a drift over time. Another question would be how to handle the slight differences between the modules. This is a valid question for both, the Full-Module and the Single-Module solution.

The user interface of still cameras is a very important topic. As a photographer your focus lies upon the scene you are going to ban onto your memory card next. But in many cases the time frame in which to take the perfect shot is only open for a few seconds.

I’m suddenly in the market for a new GPS device. The Garmin StreetPilot c550 I’m still using is now getting old. To input addresses I have to type them in on an alphabetical -- not QWERTY -- keypad. Until you try this you can’t imagine how slow and how difficult it is to do without making mistakes. It does however have several useful features, including MP3 and Bluetooth, but, ironically, it lacks a decent “navigation” method to find and activate some features.

Nintendo comes out with the Nintendo 3DS and Sony with the Sony NGP.
