Your Easy Starter Site has a great new feature: Broken Link Checker.

The Broken Link Checker will go through all the links on your site and let you know if any are not working or need to be updated. To activate your Broken Link Checker, go to your admin panel, select Plugins on the left. Click ACTIVATE under the plugin name on the list.

To check for broken links, go to SETTINGS then select Broken Link Checker in the left column menu of the admin panel.

By default it will check links every 72 hours. Notice on the General panel the option for custom formatting is checked. This will show all of your non-working  links with a strikethrough. This will be visible to you and your visitors. It can be helpful to easily see which links are broken. Uncheck the box if you would rather not show broken links to everyone.

If you want to run a check right away, click the ADVANCED tab. At the bottom, click the re-check all pages link. This may take a few minutes if you have a lot of pages.

From now on, when you visit your dashboard in the site admin, a new box will be displayed showing any broken links.

To fix the links, click the “Found # broken links” text link.

Hover over the link on the list and options will pop up. If it is a comment with a link, just remove the link. If it is a link that you want to keep, edit the url to be the correct one.
