I have been overweight for about 10 years. Before that I was quite active and felt fat if I was in something bigger than a size 6. I can hardly believe I've let myself not only get here but stay here.

Vegetable Crudite is a simple and healthy snack (depending on the dip). By spending a little time selecting the right combination of veggies for size, shape and color, your veggie tray can be your centerpiece. This is how I make mine easy to maintain and restock throughout my parties.

Being prepared is going to be key to success in reaching my weight loss goals. After making it through my first work week I feel fantastic! I don't feel as sluggish and my skin is benefiting from the extra water consumption. In my excitement I started planning my meal plan for the week. Here's what's on the menu:

Time is limited. In addition to working a full time job, I carpool with my fiance. I love carpooling. I have great alone time with Sam to catch up on life and we conserve by sharing a ride. It has it's downsides too though. I can't jump in the car and run the gym for a lunchtime workout. I also generally spend at least 10 hours at the office each day.

My next plan for keeping myself motivated includes creating a rewards system for myself that IS NOT FOOD RELATED! Rather than focusing on weight loss I plan to track sizes lost. At each new size I'll celebrate in a way the rejuvenates or motivates. I'd like to lose 10 sizes so there are 10 rewards:

Because I work fulltime, preparing fresh meals each day isn't a realistic option for me. However, I am not going to let that get in the way of eating healthy, low calorie AND tasty food. To accomplish my weight loss goals I've decided I'll ideally need to pick one weekend day to do my menu planning, grocery shopping and cooking. Since I started Father's Day weekend, I was able to get the menu planning and and shopping done but not the cooking. Still dedicated to success, I rushed home from work Monday night with a plan of attack to cook as many entrees as possible to package and freeze.

According to wikipedia, vision boards are related to the Law of Attractions theory which is used by many New Thought leaders. The theory goes that thoughts influence chance.

My skinny self has been lost for several years but I was close to finding her a little over a year ago. I had been exercising 6 days a week and loving it! I was eating right and had a great plan in place. Then my Mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Vulvar cancer. The news was absolutely devastating and in approximately 14 months I lost my Mom to cancer.
