It’s been a while since my last update. Huhu. I really want to write but my life commitment wouldn’t allow me to do so. After finishing my LLB program last few month, my career journey continued with my practical or in our profession we called it as Chambering or pupilage. So, here comes again my busy schedule.

Actually, I think, my chambering period is not as busy as it looks or as busy as my time during LLB period, but when you started working, it just feel like to have your own sweet lazy time at home during weekends~lulz.

Anyway, this time I just want to share with you on what I’ve been thinking about my future working space. Here are some inspiration I get from the net and you can take this as inspiration for your dreamed workspace too~

Perhaps because I’m ending my journey as a student at UiTM Shah Alam, so I decide to write a post of interesting food spot in Pusat Komersial alone because this area is quite famous among UiTM students/staffs/lecturers.

Anyway, for this restaurant, it is quite famous among the student. This maybe because the price of the food is quite cheap plus there are very wide variety of dishes available, and the food is delicious too.

I personally like this restaurant. But this place is very crowded with people, mostly student, to have their lunch, especially during semester. So, it is best to avoid it during peak time, I think between 12.30 till 2.00 pm.

My Verdict:-

Food: Food is quite nice. They have very wide variety of dishes. Mainly the restaurant served Malay Traditional food, but I see there are coleslaw, so it’s not 100% malay tradional dish. Which is good I think.

Price: Cheap. That’s the main reason I think many UiTM students eat here. Though I think the price are quite cheap, the quality of the food is good.

Environment: Like typical malay restaurant. Might be quite crowded during peak hour.

Other Additional details: Operating hours between 10AM till night. Anyway, enjoy the pictures below~

I don’t know what is so special about Nasi Kukus (Steamed Rice), but I kinda like it. Maybe because I’m a foodie so I eat anything *not literally anything*, as long as it is halal.

The food actually is really a simple one. It’s like Nasi Lemak, but the rice is not made/cooked with cocunut milk. And it was steamed. The rice comes with some chicken/beef curry, sambal belacan (Malay Paste) and slices of cucumber. You are recommended to add some add-on like Keropok Ikan (Fish Cracker) & Ayam Goreng Rempah (Fried Chicken with Spice).

My Verdict:-

Food: The Nasi Kukus with Ayam Goreng Berempah is good. But the portion might be quite small for some people. Recommended combination: Nasi Kukus + Ayam Rempah + come Chicken/Beef curry + Keropok Ikan.

Price: Affordable.

Environment: Normal Malay restaurant. Cleanliness is okay.

Other additional details: Normally the Nasi Kukus start selling at 3 PM. This stall also served normal lunch. But I will not cover that this time, it for you to explore it, perhaps.

Nasi Lemak in Klang Valley area nowadays I believe is overly modified. You’ll never get good Nasi Lemak unless you put in some additional dishes such as Sambal Sotong (Chilli Squid), Ayam Masak Merah (Chilli Chicken), Sambal Kerang (Chilli Cockles) or any other side dishes. Good plain Nasi Lemak is very hard to get.

When talked about Nasi Lemak, Malaysians love Nasi Lemak. We ate it during breakfast mostly, but now we even took it during lunch and dinner or supper. What an unhealthy lifestyles we have, furthermore Nasi Lemak + Teh Tarik. However, we can’t deny that it’s good, isn’t it?

Anyway, the place I want to write this time is quite famous spot in Petaling Jaya. It is known as Medan Makan Jalan 223 or Selera Jaya 223. It is quite a well-known place, so I’ll just make a short post this time as just to complete my food journal.

So, my verdict?

Food: The Nasi Lemak is very good. There are add-on too if you want. But the original Nasi Lemak is good. I tried the Sup Kambing (Lamb Soup), ok la, quite nice too.

Price: Original Nasi Lemak is cheap, RM1.50 I think. you may add some other side dishes available there. Lamb soup is around RM6 I think. So to me, it’s reasonable.

Environment: Normal food court. Cleanliness is moderate.

Other Details: Telephone number for stall No. 6:- 012-3717 007 / 012-2660 369 (Gerai Yatie/ Pak Chu 916). I’m sorry, I’m not able to get Stall No. 2 phone number.

Fyi, there are 2 stall selling Nasi Lemak here. Stall No. 2 and 6. Some of my friends like the Nasi Lemak from stall No. 2. But for me, both are having quite the same taste.

First, Happy Chinese New Year, to any of my chinese readers *if I hv one*. Back to writing. This time I want to write about one restaurant which is quite famous among my colleague and my lecturers during my schooldays at UiTM. This restaurant is located at Pusat Komersial Seksyen 7, Shah Alam, which is very near to UiTM Shah Alam second gate.

Food here is good, and unique too. It’s a fusion cuisine combining mostly Chinese type of cooking with some Western element. Restaurant is air-conditioned, so if you want to find good restaurant for lunch in Shah Alam (well with tropical climate, it was really hot here at noon) other than McD, KFC, whatnot, this is the place.

However, I would like to remind you that unless during UiTM Shah Alam semester break, this place will be crowded with people, so there will be quite a traffic jam. And another thing, this restaurant owner is not a Muslim. But this restaurant is very familiar among Muslim people, so perhaps the restaurant owner already aware of the Muslim sentiment when it comes to food they eat.

My Verdict

Food: “Good Halal Chinese Food in Shah Alam”. To me, among the best.

Environment: Restaurant is air-conditioned. The layout is like typical chinese restaurant.

Price: Quite pricey. But reasonable. Some of the price list *Price may vary*: Mantis Prawn Menu & Chicken Menu.

Shops open all day for lunch and dinner on weekdays, they rest at 3PM – 4PM. Closed on Sunday. Thanks my friend, Suriati for the info. Anyway, enjoy the pictures below~

Hello guys! I’m back in writing! Yeah, actually, I’ve just finished my final semester, which means, I’m free from any assignments, test, whatnot. Yeay!! I hope I’ll pass all my subjects so that I can hunting for a job later~huhu

Anyway, today, I will not post anything about food yet, but I will summarize what I’ve been doing for the past 9 month (more or less, 30 weeks). As I’ve said in my previous blog post “Get Ready For The Next Chapter, Goodbye 2011!!”:

“Another things, 2012 will be a very busy year for me (if I get the offer to continue my studies).”

Yes, I get the offer and InsyaAllah, I will finished it if I pass all the papers this time. Anyway, for the past 9 month, it’s been a most memorable moments in my life. It’s like a wrap of my story as a student. I’ve learned so many things during this time, beside the formal knowledge with regard to the course I took, I also learned about how important your family is, how friendship matters and how to solve the relationship issues between humans.

So yeah, I did not planned to write too long for this, but I really hope that I’ll pass all the papers this time and can focused on my next mission. And being a well-known food & travel blogger is one of my mission too!

First and foremost, I would like to make an apologize for not updating this blog quite a long time. I’m sorry~huhu. Currently, I’m in my mid-semester holiday, so yeah, take this opportunity to update this blog.

Next, I might just continue with my review perhaps? Okay, this review was made during my family trip to Singapore and Johor, sponsored by my mother employer. Actually, I’ve reviewed one of Johorian famous dishes before which is Mee Rebus Haji Wahid @ Plaza Angsana. This time, it is more casual, one of Johorean famous spot to lepak at night.

This place is at the Dataran Bandaraya Johor Bahru, Johor. I was brought here by my friend, Dosh. Anyway, let’s just go to the verdict because I have nothing to say anymor, haha.

The Verdict

Food: There are variety of dishes to choose as for steamboat. And there are also Tauhu Bakar (Grilled Tofu), which is very famous among Johoreans.

Price: Normal, Reasonable. Price of the steamboat dishes may vary depends on the colour at the stick.

Environment: This place which is at the heart of Johor Bahru town makes it as a best place to lepak with friends and families at night. It will open until 1 am I believe.

So I’m continuing my studies again this 10 Sept for my final semester, final year and for the very last (insyaAllah). It’s getting tougher and tougher everyday and I hope I can finish it with a flying colours result. So, this blog will be abandoned for like 5 to 6 month after this. I know it sounds kinda like a lame excuse, but that’s the truth. It’s happened during my first semester where I thought I will have the chance to update my blog, but apparently I just underestimate my course.

So this time, I would like to remind you before anything, that I may not be able to update this blog from now on. But like always, I’ll try my best to update if I have time.

Well, I’m not very much a fan of seafood, but I eat & love all foods that is good and halal. Before this I think I’ve wrote some post of good seafood’s in some area, you may refer here: Aroma Ikan Bakar, Kuala Selangor (which is among the most viewed post), Gerai Hasnik Seri Menanti, Terengganu, Dataran Helang, Langkawi and Jalan Bellamy, KL (only if you are really craving for Ikan bakar within KL and don’t want to go too far).

Back to Kedah, this time it is in Sungai Petani, and Tanjung Dawai to be specific. If you are a UiTM Kedah student or once lived here or whatnot, you’ll probably know this place right? This place is very famous for good seafood’s. If you want good and cheap seafood, this is the place to go. There are many restaurants selling seafood here, but this time I choose this restaurant because it is the first restaurant I see when I come here. LOL~

I don’t know whether there are other better restaurant here, for me, this restaurant is good enough because the food is good and the price is very reasonable. Anyway, let’s go for the picture after the verdict.

My Verdict

Food: Good. The seafood’s is very fresh too. And the owner is very kind to us because when we want to order for Kerang Bakar (Grilled Cockle), he explained that it is not a good season to eat it, as it will not taste very good.

You may order the food by set (it’s easier and cheaper though). And there are many sets to choose for depends on how many people you have. You can view the menu here:

Price: Cheap. RM 90 for my family (6 person). Later I’ll show you what we ordered for that day (Oh ya, we took Set C).

Environment: Just a plain restaurant with a seaside view. You will hear the waves sound, really nice. But it all depends which restaurant you go lar, because some restaurant quite far from the sea.

Well, the tomyam is good. Kedah is quite famous for their good Tomyam because of its location which is near to Thailand perhaps.

Ok, let me explain you with regard to the direction. The route to go there is plainly simple, but if you aren’t familiar with this place, you might get lost. And if you have GPS with you, it might show you the shortcut route, which is quite confusing.

The easiest/ simplest direction: From Sg. Petani (Utara) Toll gate, go straight until u see a junction (I believe it’s a 3rd junction from the toll gate). There will be a signboard before arriving the junction stating Tanjung Dawai, UiTM Merbok, etc.

Then, turn RIGHT, go STRAIGHT, you will go through a BRIDGE. Then you will see another junction, go STRAIGHT again. Passing through a small town, then you will encounter another junction.

Turn LEFT, then just go STRAIGHT for another 25 KM. You will be passing through UiTM Merbok on your left, which means you’ve follow this direction correctly.

Okay, this stall was visited by me before I started my studies, so yeah, it’s been quite a long time. I thought I could write this up during my semester, but I just underestimated my course.

Anyway, let’s go to the main topic. This stall I presumed, is very well-known already. There are many Ipoh folks already reviewed this. You might just Google it. My friend from Ipoh already did it too. However, I would love to share this again to you since the Nasi Lemak here is very good to me.

So, since there are many review out there about this stall, I don’t want to talk much. It’s all depends on you now whether to go and have a try or not. And just enjoy the picture below!~

Food: Good. Sambal Sotong is the best! Recommended combination: Nasi Lemak with Fried Egg & Sambal Sotong.

Environment: So-So. Normal, plain stall / food court.

Price: Normal.
