Exploring EcoDharma: A Reconnaissance Retreat

A retreat with Guhyapati, Kamalashila and Maitrisara

Nature is a teacher. But can humanity learn enough to get through these difficult times? Just how are we to understand and integrate nature’s teachings? On this reconnaissance retreat we bring the methods and insights of the Buddhist tradition into association with an emerging ecological perspective. We will scout our way amidst living ecology as it manifests in the land, in our own consciousness, and through our interaction. Where can we find the resources to respond to the cries of the world with courageous compassion? Where can we find the power to overcome the alienation and exploitation which so characterise the current social and ecological crises? Where can we discover the deeper perspectives that help us to act authentically? We will explore these issues through a blend of study, communication, solitary time and mediation.

The ecodharmacentre operates a dana economy. Suggested dana contributions are (waged/low-waged/unwaged): £810/£675/£465 or €1095/€900/€630.

Sustaining resistance, empowering renewal

	Tools for Effective-Sustainable Activism

A 10 day workshop in the Catalan Pyrenees

This workshop, in a remote and wild valley in the Catalan Pyrenees,
offers a range of tools, collective and personal, which can make our activism more effective. These methods can help us stay in it for the long haul, adding continuity to our movement building.. They can be used to ensure the collective and organisational dimensions of our activism exemplifies the values we’re struggling for. And they can help us stay inspired, nourished, & more creative in our tactical approach.

The course applies systems thinking, ecological thought and radical critical analysis to the practice of activism and the building of participatory social movements. It will bring together activists from across Europe, to share practice and re-inforce networks.

The workshop will use methods of holistic and participatory learning: cognitive, critical, emotional, and visceral. And the event will model direct democratic social forms.
