In recent times movie theaters and television manufacturers have been banking on 3D, often with horrible results, but a new system that offers "touchable 3D" could be the virtual answer we've all been hoping for.

Racing into the virtual world, we have featured a number of high-end simulators that keep the adrenalin level rushing in utmost reality. The latest is the Atomic A1 motion game simulator from UK-based JoyRide. Delivering a truly exhilarating riding experience in a compact and robust unit, the Atomic A1 was lately launched at the GamesCom trade show in Germany. Designed for gaming and professional simulation training, the motion simulator can be flexibly integrated into a home entertainment system. The Atomic A1 can be used with any screen configuration, including a television, PC monitor and full immersion screen setup. The integrated Simphynity software gives riders access to over 60 games, including racing, flying and roller coaster games, without the need for a third party interface. The compact unit comprises a racing car seat, steering wheel, peddle controllers and a joystick.

JoyRide’s ForceAssistTM technology produces up to 10x more force and acceleration than systems with similar motor power or power consumption. The simulator can pitch and roll up to 27-degrees. You will feel every turn, bump and detail in the road, thanks to the RealFeelTM dynamic motion control system. The integrated tactile transducer system reproduces the smallest of vibrations to enjoy an exceptionally realistic ride.

The only big downside is the fact that the Atomic A1 isn’t currently compatible with PS3 or Xbox 360 games. Personally, I am not in the line. Anyway, they might support Xbox 360 games in the future according to the demand. The home user version of the Atomic A1 retails for an affordable £5140 (about $7980) including VAT.

Most people have a drawer full of old empty ink cartridges. So the Ink and Media blog asked local artist Faith Pearson if she could come up with a good use for their pile of expensive trash. The result was these lovingly recreated scenes from classic science fiction movies, built using what most of us would normally throw away.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of travel retailer DFS, Brown-Forman Duty Free/Travel Retail has come up with a unique idea. Brown-Forman commissioned artists from around the world to turn seven barrels of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whisky into amazing works of art. Master Distiller Jeff Arnett personally selected these seven barrels for DFS, and the artists include Mark Sampson & Andy Vella, Bryan Bowie, Dana Tomsa, Imin Yeh, Jeff Roland, Margaret Ho and Sheyna Baig. The barrel art is currently on display at DFS stores at seven airports (Auckland, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York JFK) until September 30, 2010.

DFS will eventually auction the barrels on their website with the money raised going to their special charity Hand in Hand for Haiti.

Moreover, each barrel contains 240 750ml Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel bottles festooned with a commemorative neck hanger. The auction ends on November 1, with all the proceeds going to Hand in Hand for Haiti.

Brabus, one of the most respected tuning companies in the world, has now unveiled its latest creation, the Brabus iBusiness. Based on the Mercedes-Benz S600, the Brabus iBusiness four-seater luxury sedan packs in a range of multimedia features, including two iPads in the rear seats with Bluetooth keyboards and mouse, an ultra-small Mac minicomputer under the rear shelf and a 64GB Apple iPod Touch. The German super tuners have fitted the Mercedes S600 iBusiness with a 15.2-inch TFT display with 16:9 aspect ratio and USB 2.0 ports in the rear compartment to hook up peripherals to the Mac. You can connect to the internet via UMTS and HSDPA. The two iPads control the complete BRABUS multimedia system and the car’s standard S-Class COMAND system with all functions such as radio, navigation system and telephone.

When not in use, you can store the iPads in bespoke compartments in the car’s center console. The Mercedes S600 iBusiness is powered by a BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 750 12-cylinder engine with a rated power output of 750 hp / 552 kW and a peak torque of 1,350 Nm (995 lb-ft). The car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.0 seconds and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 11.9 seconds, with a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph).

The interiors of the car are done in a two-tone combination of high-quality Brabus leather. There are power-operated curtains, a color-changing interior lighting system, a new BRABUS Yachting wood trim package, scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo, an ergonomic sport steering wheel and anodized aluminum pedals.

The exterior comes clad in a sporty yet elegant designer suit. There is a large center air inlet, integrated auxiliary headlights and LED daytime running lights. The Brabus Mercedes S600 iBusiness is built to order.

Another good news is that are ready to equip any existing current S-Class model with the new multimedia system and all other BRABUS options.
