Originally a family-owned business founded by Cindy Melk, in 2008 H2O Plus was sold to a consortium of private equity firms including Goldman Sachs, and later purchased by its current parent, Pola Orbis. According to hiring manager, Jim McLaughlin, the company could not have ended up in better hands.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Based in Japan, Pola Orbis has been in business 83 years, and went public in 2010.  Pola’s principal owner donated one third of the company's value to a charitable trust for the development of the arts. The company has a big museum on its campus in Tokyo, as well as a major endowment for the arts in Japan. Recently, Pola acquired an Australian beauty brand called Jurlique, which owns their own farms and grows their own ingredients in Australia.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;The typical H2O Plus customer.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The typical H2O Plus customer is a female “youthful beauty activist.”  She is young at heart, 18 to 50, a deliberately broad range due to the company's line of “pre-aging” and anti-aging products. She is very active in her skin care regime, and will self educate to stay abreast of current skin care technologies and trends. Her buying is very research-based, and she is acutely aware of her alternatives.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;She is well aware of the technologies and benefits behind certain products, and she is active in the evolving her regime to try new products. She is very networked with other youthful beauty activists. Mr. McLaughlin believes that H2O Plus must empower its customers with information, to make sure that they have access to the latest information to educate, inform and engage her so that she appreciates the benefits of the H2O Plus lifestyle. Moreover, H2O plus would like to connect her with other consumers who can reinforce these things.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Worldwide, Pola puts quality and efficacy first and foremost.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Management staunchly refuses to optimize costs in any way that dumbs down the product.  According to Mr. McLaughlin, “I have been with the company 19 years, and even though Cindy has been gone a long time, our operating philosophy reminds me of her everyday. Now more than ever, H2O Plus is about making the best product and impacting the consumer as positively as possible.”&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;“We are more focused than ever around Cindy's initial vision, taking advantage of powerful sea-derived ingredients.  Many companies our size do not manufacture. We do. We formulate all of our products in a 100,000 square-foot building on the west side of Chicago, near the Sears building. We occupy an entire city block. Marketing, sales, manufacturing, R&amp;amp;D and distribution are all right here. Anyone who works here is right on top of the product, just the way Cindy would have wanted it.”&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;H2O Plus’ go to market strategy is equally interesting.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The company has a very large amenities business, which revolves around a 10 year deal with Disney resorts. If you go on a Disney cruise or visit any Walt Disney property in Orlando, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Paris or Hong Kong you will see H2O Plus’ products in every hotel room lavatory. This puts 40 million samples into consumers hands every year, and every complementary H2O Plus soap and body wash features the company's URL.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Given the retail price of H2O Plus’ products, this is a brilliant strategy.  These consumers who visit H2OPlus.com have already tried the company's products and are predisposed to buy them.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Beyond this strategy, the company has a long track record of taking smart chances online. McLaughlin started H20Plus.com in 1997, long before the company had retail channel partners. Without the threat of channel conflict, McLaughlin's team was able to develop a deep commitment to the e-commerce channel that continues to serve the company well. With regard to ecommerce investment, the only thing that has changed is the depth of the company's pockets.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;H2O Plus is well-funded for its aggressive growth plans online.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Just about everything about H2O Plus’ e-commerce business is sound: domestic sales are up, international sales are improving. Traffic is up, as is the average order value and conversion rate. This job is not a “turnaround.” The online business is running very well, yet its growth initiatives should keep this new hire very busy, especially in the areas of mobile marketing and commerce, SEO, SEM, site search, social media, and analytics.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;Manages development and execution of all website merchandising initiatives including product catalog and content sections.&amp;nbsp; Maintains a 6 to 12-month website marketing calendar and presents all content in advance of deployment for management review.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Manages design and execution of all customer e-mail communications including programming of e-mail &lt;/li&gt;

&lt;div&gt;The Product Manager will identify opportunities for new site features or improvements to existing features  that help achieve CustomInk’s overall strategic goals. The Product Manager will lead  the product discovery process to refine, validate and prioritize these  opportunities and work closely with a team of designers and engineers to  bring these new ideas to life.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Product Manager will be  heavily involved in customer research activities including market  research, usability testing, live on-site experiments, and analysis of  site analytics. The Product Manager will also play the role of product owner in an agile  development process working on a daily basis with user experience  designers, visual designers, and software engineers to make strategic  and tactical decisions about product functionality, balancing  appropriate tradeoffs between business goals, user goals,  scalability/maintainability, time-to-market, and process efficiency.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Communicate the vision and plan a  roadmap across CustomInk and soliciting and synthesizing feedback from  across the organization.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a member of a small, nimble team the Product Manager  should also expect to function as an individual contributor from time  to time on selected projects by performing user research, user  experience design, quality assurance, or other such work to ensure that  all aspects of the development process are covered as needed.&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;Receive ongoing guidance and support from the  Director of Product Management, Online Experience and work closely with  many other members of the E-commerce Team and other stakeholders across  CustomInk.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;MEASURES OF SUCCESS: &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The key measures of success for this position are:&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;li&gt;Practical knowledge of product management practices including  roadmap development, concept validation, requirements definition, and  feature prioritization&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;li&gt;A strong portfolio (urls preferred) featuring interaction design work&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ability to move fluidly from thinking about high-level product strategy down to low-level details (and everything in-between!)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Great understanding of design heuristics and techniques of user-centered design&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly articulate design decisions&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ability to leverage technology to create innovative experiences and adapt designs to consider technical limitations&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Excellent knowledge of design tools like Visio/Omnigraffle, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ability to develop working prototypes (either in working code or in tools like Axure or PowerPoint) is also strongly desirable&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Develop and implement web strategies for improved conversion rates, usability, marketing, website testing, and site functionality. Responsible for recommendations of strategies, and managing, planning and executing strategies for our e-commerce websites in Brady’s Direct Marketing America’s Group. This position is pivotal to driving success of our online businesses.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Essential Duties and Responsibilities:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Utilize testing methodologies and best practices to increase conversion rates&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Work with the optimization team and grow revenue from the channel. Understand which projects and efforts will have the biggest impact and prioritize and focus accordingly&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Utilize Customer Experience Analytics tools to measure and improve engagement and satisfaction.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Capture and integrate Voice of Customer data as well as Market Research data to help create the ultimate online customer experience.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Translate business requirements into meaningful interactive experiences &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Convert more website visitors to buyers while improving overall website usability&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Work with the Web Designers and Web Developers to create elements and/or      landing pages for which to test, monitor and evaluate outcomes and implement changes.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Foster connections and collaboration with other departments, including Creative, Technology, Marketing, Acquisition and Content teams. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Work alongside Strategy and Analytics business groups as well as development to coordinate testing, brainstorm new ideas, and draw conclusions for continually improving conversion&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Recommend strategic efforts and drive execution necessary to deliver high end marketing performance, providing a critical contribution to growth and profitability goals over the near and long-term. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Participate in immersive user research, concept testing, and usability testing&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Analyze current and historical Analytics on an ongoing basis to identify trends, strengths and weaknesses, and provide business intelligence to upper      management. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Work with the Web Content team on product merchandising and content      development.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Conduct competitive analyses. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Communicate results, successes and improvement strategies to Direct Marketing senior leadership. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;h3&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Position Requirements:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h3&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;2 years of full-time oversight and hands-on experience working on conversion improvement efforts in a transactional e-commerce environment.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ability to work with and motive cross functional team, to flawless execution of all strategies&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;In-depth knowledge or hands-on experience in all of the following e-commerce usability, conversion and AOV improvement activities:    
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Product Merchandising&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Copywriting       for E-commerce&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Buy       flow, clickpath/clickstream, and sales funnel analysis&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Capturing       and implementing Voice of Customer, using surveys and other methods&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Abandoned       Shopping Cart reduction&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Product       upsell, cross-sell, and bundling tactics&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Landing       page A/B/N and Multivariate testing using Google Website Optimizer or       similar tools.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Excellent      data analysis skills.&amp;nbsp; Must be      able to monitor and evaluate the impact of the optimization efforts. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Deep      understanding of web design elements, Information Architecture, and Persuasion      Architecture in an E-commerce setting. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Keep      abreast of the latest trends in E-commerce Usability, Conversion rate and      AOV improvement methods.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Strong quantitative and      analytical skills with exceptional web analytics and reporting      capabilities, and the desire to delve into data. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Exceptional      communication skills; able to effectively communicate results, successes      and improvement strategies to senior management. &lt;/li&gt;

I posted it last week on my &lt;a title="job of the week" href="http://lnkd.in/atgc3K" target="_blank"&gt;Linkedin groups&lt;/a&gt; -- and the response was through the roof.  Now, here it is for your viewing pleasure ...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;BACK STORY: As a recruiter, I like to see myself as in the “before” and “after” business – like in an infomercial:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="padding-left: 30px;"&gt;... &lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;BEFORE&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt; my candidate arrives on the scene, my client has problems: Affiliate fraud, for example. Or a platform integration plagued with delays and cost overruns. Or declining sales.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="padding-left: 30px;"&gt;... &lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;AFTER&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt; my candidate has been on the job for 12 months, the affiliate fraud is gone, a hugely successful integration is ancient history, and the sales slump has been arrested. Problem solved.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Naturally, whenever I land a search I ask myself “Assuming they have the skills, which of my candidates will benefit the most from this search? What's in it for them, long term? Not just monetarily, but in terms of how their accomplishments in the role will contribute to the narrative about them in the industry.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Because after handling more than 250 ecommerce searches, here's what I know: People TALK.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Having a great resume is one thing, but having a stellar reputation for solving cross-functional, multichannel ecommerce problems is another. After your first two years in the business, your peers won’t talk about your resume. They will, however, gossip about your accomplishments.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Which brings me to this week's pitch.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My NYC-based client is a European luxury goods manufacturer who seeks a US Ecommerce Manager to develop the US market for their product line. They know relatively little about how to make this happen, but you have heard of the company and they sell online through one of America's most prestigious high-end retailers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The client is doing ~$500K in US online sales. However, the US retail market for their product includes about 20,000 companies with combined annual revenue of about $30 billion. The industry is fragmented, with the top 50 companies generating only about 40% of revenue.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Which is exactly why the client has very high hopes for America. You know many of their competitors, several of whom are members of the Internet Retailer Top 500. The situation has exactly what attracts venture capitalists to any business:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Huge, addressable market&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Remarkable, high-quality product(s)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Well defined customer&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Viable distribution network&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Proven revenue model&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Long-term scalability&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Access to the right team (which you'll get to build.)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;All of those things are here. All you have to do is bring them together in a brand-friendly way. It's totally doable, for the right person.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Reporting to the North American CEO, you will need a strong knowledge of: customer acquisition; content management systems; customer care; ecommerce platforms; logistics; promotion and loyalty management; online catalog management; order management systems; rich media; site search; social media; web analytics; and web design/user experience.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Luxury experience is preferred but not required.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The job will pay a base salary of between $100,000 and $130,000. &lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Tops!!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp; And before you older readers say &lt;em&gt;“Rubbish! Harry will never find someone with all that experience for that low price,”&lt;/em&gt; please know that there’s a new breed of up-and-coming rock stars who would easily rise to the challenge.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Make no mistake:&lt;/strong&gt; If you take this job, the challenges will be waiting for you. But they are surmountable, and you'll have the resources and management support to overcome them. And when you do, you'll have the kind of reputation that will get you talked about.  In a good way.&lt;/p&gt;

Three years from now, you’ll have hands on experience in off-line retail marketing, usability, analytics, online merchandising, logistics, purchasing, conversion rate optimization, leadership, and organizational development.  For search marketing specialists, GM opportunities like this one can be scarce as hen's teeth.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt; The client’s online retail business is very well-established.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The company has been in existence for 7 years, and management has a great understanding of sourcing, production, logistics, inventory management, and financing.  It operates 15 stores around the US, and recently launched a franchising program.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Annually, SimpleFloors.com gets 1.2 million unique visitors, 90% of which come from search engines. Their average order value is $2500 on a site-wide conversion rate of 11%.  The firm is a well established seller in marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, MSN, Yahoo, Shopzilla, Square Trade and Overstock.com.  These folks know what they're doing, so it's not like you'll need to beg for resources to grow the business.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;But there is a lot of work to do ...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The client has sincere interest in broadening their email and affiliate marketing programs, plus management is would like to dramatically improve the firm’s ROAS in Adwords.  Both SEO and analytics improvements are key initiatives, as well.  In fact, the company’s franchising success is &lt;a title="Simple Floors Franchising" href="http://www.simplefloorsfranchise.com/traffic.html" target="_blank"&gt;critically linked&lt;/a&gt; to SimpleFloors’ ability to drive high quality traffic to its web properties through paid search, social media, SEO, and comparison shopping engines. The buck will stop with you on these initiatives.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

The building material dealers industry in the US includes about 45,000 companies with combined annual sales of about $230 billion. Major companies include Home Depot and Lowe's.  The industry is concentrated: the top 50 companies account for more than 50 percent of industry revenue.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The company’s customer base includes interior designers, builders, contractors, and homeowners.  Demand for wood flooring is closely tied to residential real estate construction, both new and remodeling.  Competition comes from other manufacturers and competing flooring products like carpeting, linoleum, tiles, etc.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The US interior design industry includes about 10,000 companies with combined annual revenue of about $8 billion.  The industry is highly fragmented: the 50 largest firms account for about 10 percent of revenue.&amp;nbsp; Huge opportunity!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;SimpleFloors’ ability to contract its manufacturing process and distribute direct to its clients allows the company to bring the latest designs to market with incredible speed: For instance, a new style introduction can go from the design room drawing board to the factory and onto installation in just under two months (versus the industry stand two years).  This speed makes SimpleFloors very popular with interior designers, who seek the latest flooring trends for their clients.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt; HARRY’S COMMENTS:&lt;/strong&gt; I have been an ecommerce recruiter for seven years, and one of the coolest things about my job is that there are candidates whom I have placed more than once. Such is the case with this role’s hiring manager, Adam Silverman, who is a rock star anyway you slice it.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;I placed Adam as a VP of Ecommerce with Monsoon Commerce last October, and it’s Adam’s charge to develop and manage the growth of Monsoon’s retail arm, Alibris, currently No. 123 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide.  Prior to Alibris, Adam was Director of Marketing at Musician’s Friend (IR-44), and from 2006 to 2009, he was Director of Ecommerce for apparel retail chain Wet Seal (IR-316).&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Smart. Funny. Authentic. Driven (in a good way). Highly competent. Endlessly resourceful.  I have never seen Adam in an easy role, and somehow he always finds a way to win.  Seriously, I would want my own kid to work for him.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;i&gt;In fact, I'm going to post that as a LinkedIn recommendation for him.&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Now about the role:&lt;/strong&gt; We need a real, live &lt;strong&gt;marketer&lt;/strong&gt; who is an inch wide and a mile deep in customer acquisition experience. This person needs to eat, sleep, and dream multichannel customer acquisition: Affiliate marketing, Display advertising and retargeting, CSE’s, PPC, Mobile, and possibly, when appropriate, direct mail. You will need to know how to acquire customers with each of these channels individually, but much more importantly – you will need to combine these channels so that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Your ads will need to do it all:&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;em&gt;Stop prospects in a way that allows them to self-select.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;em&gt;Hold prospects.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;em&gt;Create desire by hinting at the value of the Alibris experience.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;em&gt;Give the prospect a reason to act &lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;now&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Imagine a cross between the late, great PPC savant &lt;a title="Alan Rimm-Kaufman" href="http://www.rimmkaufman.com/blog/harry-joiner/05082008/" target="_blank"&gt;Alan Rimm-Kaufman&lt;/a&gt; and legendary adman &lt;a title="John Caples" href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0130957011/reliablegrowt-20" target="_blank"&gt;John Caples&lt;/a&gt;.  You don’t have to be that now – but you should aspire to be that.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;We need someone who sees Alibris’ categories through the customer’s eyes.  That means developing an affinity with each type of Alibris customer so that you can anticipate their needs and behaviors.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Both Caples and Rimm-Kaufman would question everything: What went wrong and why? Was it the place? The time of day? The kind of customer we attracted? Was it the offer? And so on.  Next, what went right and why? For each thing that went right, could we do it again, only bigger, or cheaper, or both?  The questions are endless.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Alibris’ analytics package is certainly one place.  But we need someone who’s not afraid to profile customers based on their RFM history, demographics, psychographics, geography, etc.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Take any cowboy boot:  Each vendor has several different attributes that they have test marketed and built into their product because they have done their market research and they know their customer.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We need to do a better job of bringing our vendors products to life online based on all of the features and benefits are available to BootBarn. There needs to be romance language. There should be multiple views of each product, and so much more.  The list of things we could be doing is endless – and it changes all the time.  We need to bring an edge to the way we market this product.”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt; The Director of Digital will be charged with taking a brand that already has a strong digital presence and a passionate group of consumers and turning it into a viable social commerce business. The website needs to be revitalized to reflect the brand's character, and 7th Gen needs to build a mobile- and ecommerce infrastructure to enable it to go direct to its consumers.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Most of all, 7th Gen seeks to build programs that double the size of its brand community, which is nearing a one million consumers. The goal is to turn these people into advocates for the brand as well as loyal customers who buy 7th Gen's products across multiple categories. This role combines the best elements of strategy, creative programming, and execution.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;For now, there is a team of 2-3 people reporting into this person. But according to Joey, "Our appetite for growth in this area is real.&amp;nbsp; Ultimately, I can see shifting the majority of our spend into digital media. &lt;p&gt;This is pivotal role in the development and evolution of the Seventh Generation business.  Seventh Generation has a unique and passionate base of consumers who we have a phenomenal opportunity to transform into brand advocates. This includes leading the brand’s consumer “conversation and engagement calendar”, building it’s social media and direct response programs, establishing its e-commerce business into a profit center and leading the thinking for mobile platform development: Website content, e-commerce, partnership &amp;amp; community development, consumer research, marketing, and website technology.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is a critical leadership role in the marketing organization and requires strong leadership across the business units, integrating digital media seamlessly into each key element of strategic plans.&lt;/p&gt;
