I had the opportunity to photograph the London Fashion Weeekend 2013 at Somerset House, London. The photos in this post are all from the Trend Show. I shot the photos on a Canon 5d Mk III with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, at 200mm. This proved to only just be enough reach from the photographers stand at the back, but a little cropping solved this. It’s amazing the difference someone shooting in landscape and portrait makes to how much their elbow is in your lens blocking your shot! Make sure you pick your place in the stand carefully and prominently!

Patterns are very in this season, and it seems designers are taking every opportunity to embrace them, taking designs off from far flung cultures,  skateboard designs even featured in on of the shows!

This was my favourite dress from the show, I loved the way it flowed across the stage and the brilliant colours.

Not sure this one will catch on, but you never know in London..

This was another favourite of mine, great 60s influence. Simple clean lines work so well here.

I had a blast shooting this, thanks to Canon UK and WEX for organising it.

4 years ago I moved back in Oxford after university for a year and used to go to the trails a lot, just hanging out in the woods, making fires, climbing trees and building the odd jump and riding. I miss those days, back for the weekend in Oxford next weekend.

I had a film kicking about my flat, I had no idea what was on it so I took it in to get scanned, I hadn’t got film developed in year so I really quite excited to see what was on it! Here are a couple from that film. Film was expired Kodak ISO400. Above Will and Simon chilling at the spot

Chris fixing it up. One of my many new year resolutions is to start shooting more film this year.

At the end of last year a few of us took the train to ‘Ramprage’ in Colchester to try and escape the constant dampness. After riding round Colchester in circles following Google maps to the wrong post a couple time we finally found the skatepark. I didn’t really get on with the skatepark too well, but Ben managed pretty good.

In the last few years a lot of people have upgraded to larger displays, so I decided to up the size of the pictures I am putting on my blog and also remove the watermark I used to put on them to make it a cleaner, hopefully more enjoyable experience to view my photographs.

I hope you enjoy the new, larger sized pictures, if you are still on a smaller display the site should adjust automatically to fit to your screen too. There are also some other minor design changes around the blog, thanks to everyone who has given feedback on the site. The picture above is taken in East London at dusk.

Anyone who has ridden this quarter-pipe will know how mad this is.

One way to get a BBQ going… This is all seems like a long time ago in these cold, wet winter days. I have been busy working on some exciting projects. I still have so many photos to sort through from my trip New Zealand too…

Earlier this year I worked with great guys from Powster to help out on a video they produced for Plan B, I provided stills of the projections on-site and helped with the filming. It involved some really amazing projections;  as the post from Powster’s website describes:

“For Plan B’s album release iLL Manors, we gave users the opportunity to tweet their thoughts on the gritty subject matter of songs and have their messages tagged up by a graffiti artist and projected onto iconic buildings across London. Each user received a personalised image of the result.

Locations projected onto included The Houses of Parliament and The National Gallery. A truly ground breaking and cross media campaign.”

The Powster guys took a really difficult concept and made it work. Watch this space for more video related content over the next year!

I am back in London after a month in New Zealand. New Zealand is one of the most amazing countries I have ever been to. It has one of the most varied and extraordinary landscapes in the world. First it’s rolling hills, then into ranging mountains then back into rainforest all within a few hours. I took a lot of photos and so some amazing times, recommended to anyone.

Photo of the sunrise over Canary Wharf, one of the few good points of jet lag is seeing the sunrise!
