La misión de nuestro Laboratorio es generar información científica de alta calidad para una mejor comprensión de la biología, ecología y fisiología de las aves marinas que habitan en el Pacífico Sureste; y proveer a los tomadores de decisiones y a la ciudadanía una herramienta para conservar y proteger especies de aves marinas en especial aquellas en estados de amenazas.</span></span></div>

<span style="color: #444444; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Las especies que mejor se han estudiado son el Pingüino de Humboldt, el Piquero y el Yunco. Estas especies son endémicas del sistema de surgencia de la Corriente de Humboldt, presentan grandes diferencias en su comportamiento y morfología y presentan estados delicados de conservación debido principalmente a perturbaciones ocasionadas por el hombre. </span></div>
