  <title>A way to Yao’s fairyland</title>

  <summary type="text">The purpose of this experiment is to clean and filter waste water from a village, while at the same time allowing farming, nature conservation, green tourism and other activities to flourish. The project initiator Michelle Zhu takes us to a small village inhabited by the Yao minority and helps us discover how the filtering of water can be beneficial to the local population.

  <summary type="text">The team from the Asia-Pacific Division are the initiators of plans to produce an illustrated booklet which simply and clearly explains the uses and risks of electricity. The goal is to reduce the number of accidents caused by electricity, particularly in the countryside, where children are the main victims. In a school in Peking, we discover that its use is vital when it comes to preventing accidents among schoolchildren but also among their parents.

  <title>Recovery and re-use of rainwater</title>

  <summary type="text">At the Cordemais thermal power station, the rainwater in the ash disposal area is collected and reused in the same area. This means that there is no longer any need to consume water and to pump it into the Loire river. Bernard Bonnet, Frédéric Delannoy, and their partners introduce this new system, which helps to protect local water resources.

  <title>Nam Theun 2 project: public health programme</title>

This is based on newly created or upgraded healthcare centres. Amongst other things, it enables mothers to benefit from useful advice to combat child malnutrition.
