44 Label Group

The influential clothing brand and music label had originally signed Kobosil back in 2021. Since that time it became the most influential brand in the techno scene, with the signature 44 being worn by techno DJs like Adam Beyer, Kevin de Vries, Tale of Us, and more. In the last 5 years, the artist has served as the creative director for the clothing side, as he also released music through the label. Nonetheless, the Antonioli Group shared on social media how proud they were to have Kobosil as part of their leading team, as well as reinforcing the values of the company. At the same time, the ‘Rigid’ producer released a statement explaining his departure. The Antonioli group continues to own the clothing trademark, while Kobosil owns the ’44’ associated with music releases and events. This means that Kobosil still controls 100% of events worldwide under the 44 brand.

WWD expressed that Kobosil drew inspiration from the zip code of Neukölln in Berlin, where the artist is originally from. After its launch in 2021 with a 70-piece collection, the brand had 4 successful fashion shows for Milan Men’s Fashion Week between 2022 and 2023.

The brand acknowledged the artists that continue to support the 44 Label fashion side, including Kobosil, Amelie Lens, Anyma, Somewhen, and more. Moreover, they’re releasing a Capsule Collection with DJ Tennis and his label Life and Death. The collaboration named Dissent is the first of many to come out of the brand, which wants to explore the relationship between artists, music, fashion, and culture, according to Carrera.

Antonioli Group

Per WWD, the group holds ownership of the physical 44 Label Group Store in Milan, as well as the restaurant Sogni. They also own Volt Nightclub, where Antonioli and Kobosil first connected prior to the launch of the label.

From Cancellation to Comeback on Sunday

Instead of walking away, Chris Lake and his team moved fast. The Saturday show shifted to Sunday, giving fans another chance to experience the set. Ticket holders received the option to attend Sunday or request refunds. To handle the demand, organizers expanded the setup. They added a second stage and increased capacity significantly for the final show. What started as a setback turned into a bigger moment. Sunday delivered a packed crowd and a full reset of energy. Lake returned to the decks as the sun set over Brooklyn. The vibe felt earned after the chaos the night before.

The Fan DM That Sparked a Response

Not everyone understood the decision at first. One fan even DM’d Chris Lake on Instagram, saying nobody would show up on Sunday after the cancellation. Chris didn’t ignore it. He responded directly. He made it clear the severe weather wasn’t a joke. Safety came first, no matter what. He also shared that the decision wasn’t easy. The cancellation cost his team a lot behind the scenes.

Still, they chose to protect fans and crew over pushing through unsafe conditions. Fans had options. They could attend Sunday or take a refund if needed. That response said everything.

The 13-track album SOMA brings together global collaborators like Anita B Queen, BEAM, Chris Lake, Feid, Naisha, Nitepunk, and RHR. The project builds on creative partnerships from Skrillex’s recent releases, live shows, and DJ sets. SOMA follows the debut of CONTRA, his new event platform with Berlin Atonal. The event took place May 30–31 at Kraftwerk Berlin. The release also lines up with Skrillex’s return to Primavera Sound Barcelona. He performed on the Revolut stage on Friday, June 5, and curated the CUPRA Pulse stage on Saturday.

This new album arrives at a moment where Skrillex fully controls his creative direction after parting ways with Atlantic Records. It marks an exciting phase for one of EDM’s most influential producers. He had hundreds of finished tracks and collaborations sitting in the vault, held back by Atlantic’s commercial strategy. SOMA becomes his second studio album since the split, following his 2025 release F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3.

The highlights from the album include ‘Smoke’ with ISOxo a popular pre-released song, ‘Noche Without you’, with Feid, (a track featuring Feids vocals with the trance classic children as the instrumental). ‘Duro’ is a Latin infused track with Young Miko providing the vocals. ‘Anybody’ is the second song on the album that Skrillex has collaborated with ISOxo.

After a successful one-night “Chinois Presents” takeover, this four-date run signals a strong partnership. Set in the heart of Marina Botafoch, the venue has built its name on inclusive programming and a true dancefloor-first experience, far from the island’s usual VIP-heavy scene.

June Lineups Revealed

The opening two dates highlight the depth of the Anjunadeep roster. On June 23, Eli & Fur bring their signature melodic house sound. They’ve grown from their NYX Music imprint to major stages like Coachella and Tomorrowland. Label co-founder James Grant joins them, known for shaping Anjunadeep’s sound through his carefully curated sets.

Nicky Elisabeth steps in with her rising presence in melodic electronic music. She comes off releases on Kompakt and recent Anjunadeep showcases in Albania and Malta. Rezident completes the night, delivering his deep, progressive house sound that continues to define the modern scene.

June 30 shifts the energy slightly. 16BL returns to Ibiza with the melodic depth that longtime fans love. Because Of Art joins the lineup, backed by support from Sasha and Marsh. Jody Wisternoff anchors the night, bringing his signature sound and long-standing connection to the label. Swiss producer Natascha Polké rounds things out with a unique live touch. She blends indie songwriting with melodic house, with releases on Cercle, [PIAS] Électronique, and Stil vor Talent. Her live set adds a refreshing dynamic to Ibiza’s usual DJ-focused format.

The September lineups remain under wraps for now. Still, the strength of these June bookings sets the tone for what’s ahead. Tickets are available now via Chinois. The venue runs from 23:30 to 06:30 in Ibiza Town.

Few hours later, Afrojack shared another post on social media with the details following his first. He experienced what he described as one of the scariest moments of his life. The Dutch superstar DJ and producer revealed that while traveling with his team, a potentially devastating roadside incident served as a stark reminder of just how fragile life can be.

Accompanied by video footage of the aftermath, Afrojack opened up about the emotions he felt in the moment. Expressing his gratitude for simply being alive.

“Sometimes life sends me a reminder of how lucky I am to be here… blessed with my family, blessed with my friends, and blessed with breathing.”

The producer explained that the incident was the most frightening thing he had ever witnessed. He humored us that for his friend Frits van de Clips, it ranked as only the second scariest experience. While maintaining his trademark sense of humor, the underlying message was clear: life can change in an instant.

Afrojack took time to thank those around him, including friend Nick Fuso, who was behind the wheel during the incident.

“Thanks to Nick Fuso for not crashing the car after your Final Destination moment.”

He also acknowledged his team and Hard Rock for helping ensure they still made it to the finish line despite the unexpected setback.

Notable Acts – Saturday

Dimension made himself an early contender for the set-of-the-weekend, delivering his brand of high energy DNB records and remixes to the bass-focused Pulse Stage. Ray Volpe followed, switching gears to headbanging heavy dubstep, keeping the crowd in a frenzy.

On the Eternal Stage, Sara Landry proved, yet again, why the high priestess of hard techno deserves her title. Meanwhile, the Lebanese duo of Nicole Moudaber and ChaseWest played an extremely fun, generation-spanning tech house B2B at the Secret Garden. Eric Prydz closed out the first day, with a set full of exciting IDs (as usual), and finished with his gorgeous mashup of M83’s ‘Midnight City’ (private remix) and The Temper Trap’s ‘Sweet Disposition’.

A quick shout-out also to Insomniac’s Discovery Project winner, Home By Dawn, who was hand selected by Gryffin to open the festival’s main stage. Hoping (and expecting) to hear a lot more of his modern take on the festival-progressive sound soon!

Notable Acts – Sunday

Ninajirachi drew a massive crowd, clearly embracing her growing main-stage energy as she encouraged the audience to emphatically sing along to ‘iPod Touch.’ (She also returned to the stage later in the night, joining Porter Robinson to play their upcoming collaboration, ‘WannaCry,’ first premiered at Coachella).

The Pulse Stage brought a lineup of house stars, with energetic sets from twin sisters, Coco & Breezy, and a B2B from Discip and Roddy Lima. Max Styler followed, with his addictive take on the genre, setting the stage for LP Giobbi, Cloonee and a powerful closing set from Mau P.

Gryffin’s melodic sunset performance and Porter Robinson’s eccentric DJ set appealed to the fans’ emotional sides. They were followed by Excision B2B Sullivan King, who switched the vibe to intense dubstep, a great closing set for anyone looking to unleash their final bursts of energy of the weekend.

Logistics and Considerations

D.C.’s metro provided an easy way in and out of the festival, with an added bonus of the train gradually filling up with attendees as it neared the final stop. Some people elected to use the onsite parking or rideshare pick-up/drop-off, both also viable options. The grounds are fairly small, but well laid out and easy to navigate. Project Glow brings smaller production than some of Insomniac’s premier offerings, but the sets still feel immersive and satisfying, provided you’re deep enough in the crowd.

Like many other events, Project Glow allows totems, so expect to see a sea of signs, placards and statuettes lifted over the crowd. Inconsistent phone service slightly dampened the experience, making it difficult at times to find people. I’d recommend scheduling meeting points ahead of time once inside, either next to specific tents or any of Project Glow’s highly visible art installations. (Outside the festival, phones quickly started to work again).

Since its inception in 2022, Project Glow continues growing and improving year after year. It’s a fun, smaller festival with minimal issues and a great excuse to take a weekend trip to the area. Launching June 8 through June 28, the competition invites DJs to submit a one-minute performance video tagging both brands for a chance to win a 10-city USA headlining tour and $8,000 in total prize money across Slacker Media Group’s events. Entries will be judged by a panel that includes Tay James, Justin Bieber’s longtime DJ and one of the most respected names in open-format DJing, alongside house technical mixing icon James Hype, globally renowned club veteran DJ Spider, along with representatives from both Slacker Media Group and Beatport.

I’m talking, of course, about Eivissa, the White Isle, that we all commonly know as Ibiza. (Don’t sweat the pronunciation, I heard a thousand different versions from as many different people). This recap isn’t comprehensive of my visit to Ibiza; you don’t care about my exploration of historic or cultural destinations, nor my sailing trip to Es Vedrà. It also isn’t remotely exhaustive of my partying experience; nothing could be.

My visit took place just before the peak season, and while Ibiza was already full of life, I could feel a constant sense of anticipation in the air for the coming weeks. Enjoy this amalgamation of sunrises and sunsets, already hazy memories and an irresistible urge to return.

[UNVRS] – No Art Takeover

Put simply, seeing ANOTR at [UNVRS] felt like stepping into… another universe. The awe-inspiring main room was full of people, from the very back of a giant staircase all the way to the DJ booth. World-class production and custom “No Art” fixtures elevated an already amazing set from ANOTR B2B Pawsa. A 9-minute mashup of ‘Relax My Eyes‘ and ‘Talk To You‘ ended the night in classic ANOTR style, with the entire audience captivated by the music.

If you’re looking for a quick break from the main room, or prefer a more intimate atmosphere, try to find the Bunker, a small, hidden side stage with an oversized disco ball meteor seemingly smashed in through the ceiling. Truly a club within a club, with an amazing vibe and surprisingly powerful sound system. Be warned, you might not want to leave!

While not a summer-long residency, the No Art takeover returns to [UNVRS] one more time this season, on September 29.

Ushuaïa Ibiza – Tomorrowland with Dimitri Vegas

Consider a day trip to Planaxis, Tomorrowland’s underwater world. It’s not as far as it sounds – pick a Wednesday and go to Ushuaïa Ibiza’s daytime festival stage, conveniently located at the luxurious Ushuaïa hotel. (Lucky guests can watch shows right from their balcony).

Ushuaïa’s set-up is iconic on it’s own merit, but the Tomorrowland takeover adds a giant sea turtle, seemingly swimming into the crowd. Wukong, Bassjackers and Joel Corry guided the audience through the sunset with a mix of progressive and big room hits curated for the occasion, preparing the audience for Dimitri Vegas‘ showstopping performance.

The water theme feels especially appropriate given Ushuaïa’s placement right on the coast, and Dimitri Vegas’ set of EDM classics and fun, practical effects make for a fantastic early event. Then, grab a bite (or a shot) down the street, change, and head out for the night.

HÏ Ibiza – MEDUZA and James Hype Present OUR HOUSE

The OUR HOUSE residency returns to Hï Ibiza for another run, and stepping foot into the club makes it instantly clear why. The opening party carried a powerful energy felt even in the air outside, and the floor amassed enthusiastic listeners excited to kick off the season.

MEDUZA³‘s hybrid-live performance artfully blended DJing, live piano and dynamic performance elements, culminating in a unique audio-visual experience rarely found elsewhere. The crowd responded with visible enthusiasm, dancing and jumping to tracks including ‘Piece Of Your Heart‘, ‘La La Land’ and ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home.’ A beautiful, white piano played on a club stage added additional audiovisual spectacle to an incredible set.

James Hype’s SYNC followed by raising the energy even further, showcasing his eclectic mixing style and bringing exciting effects and transitions. The SYNC show concept aligns visuals to actions made on the decks, giving James Hype full control of the Theatre at Hï. His crowd favorite, ‘Ferrari,’ lit up the room, and latest single, ‘Seratonin,’ showcased the SYNC spectacle, perfectly matching the clubs vibrant visual displays with the addictive dance track.

Based on the opening party alone, OUR HOUSE will easily be one of the summer’s most memorable residencies.

Closing thoughts

Not sufficiently emphasized in this recap is the warmth of Ibiza, beyond the pleasant weather. Staff, locals and patrons alike were overwhelmingly friendly and easy to talk to, and at no point in any club or place on the island did I feel unsafe. Allow me to add one more voice to a mainstream opinion – Ibiza lives up to the hype.

Ignore the people saying it was better 20 years ago, every generation experiences their own version of the White Isle. If you can, go. If you can’t, go when you can. Pet a cat, sit by a beach, smile at a stranger, embrace the magic and dance all night long. And please, try to put your phone away. Trust me, you’ll remember it.
