Students can complete the tasks and produce the evidence across

We had used Ruckus for 9 years with no issues so when it came time to upgrade it was an easy choice and while it cost more than cheaper options we thought you get what you pay for. Unfortunately since we have upgraded we have been getting connectivity issues where I'm really starting to question the reliability.

What happens is users will report that their WiFi isn't working and when we go to investigate we can see that the AP itself seems to have stopped broadcasting the SSID in that area as the signal drops despite an AP being in that room and servicing only a handful of devices. We check with other devices and it's the same where the signal seems to have disappeared despite standing underneath the AP. When you check the AP logs there is nothing there to suggest the AP has gone down or had any issues yet you get the same symptoms across multiple devices in the same room or area. Drivers are all up to date and the WiFi itself should be backwards compatible. One example is one room had 2 users connected to the WiFi and they experienced this issue twice within the hour where the signal just dropped off and you had to reconnect after a few minutes where the signal had disappeared.

All APs were replaced and installed in the same locations as previous so no issues with the cabling. Switches were also upgraded for the extra power requirements. The setup is currently on unleashed not a VSZ.

	We have a mix of

Ruckus R370, dual band 802.11be Indoor Wi-Fi 7 Access Points

	Ruckus T350c, omni, 802.11ax Outdoor Wi-Fi 6 Access Points

The switches were replaced with TP-Link JetStream 24-Port 2.5GBASE-T and 4-Port 10GE SFP+ L2+ Managed Switch. The APs display as "802.3at Switch PoE operating mode". The switches were replaced with TP-Link JetStream 24-Port 2.5GBASE-T and 4-Port 10GE SFP+ L2+ Managed Switch.

Any suggestions or help would be really appreciated.

We have around 150 staff laptops, at the moment these are connected to our staff wireless via RADIUS. We have EAP-TLS profile at the logon screen and then it should switch to the main staff profile on logon but it hasn't been working properly for a while which causes lot's of issues.

I'm considering setting up another SSID, sitting on our admin VLAN which just uses a password (could do MAC filtering)

I haven't even caught up with the super thin bezel version that I thought was vogue, as I'm still on a Panasonic Plasma model - could be 10 or more years old. EG. Using the likes of bitly.com to create a URL for tiktok.com and then using that to bypass the filtering.

I have both URL shorteners and social media blocked but there are a million URL shorteners out there that students are finding and using these for the redirects as the web filtering on an iPad only scans the initial domain and not the forwarded redirect like a normal PC (HTTP 301/302).

Instagram on iOS behind a smoothwall

https://www.edugeek.net/forums/topic/226877-instagram-on-ios-behind-a-smoothwall/?do=findComment&comment=2031208

Has anyone managed to get the instagram app working behind a smoothwall? The other evening I was prepping to move our VLANs/Routing and DHCP to our Smoothwall S9 box. During this, despite doing this on an empty NIC in isolation I lost connectivity to the Smoothwall. No worries my failover box kicked in. I gave it the classic reboot to attempt to get the master box to take back over. No luck. I managed to plug into the master box and I now see three of my 5 NICs have question marks next to them instead of numbers. They also list missing device on them instead of the Intel Driver. My failover is running fine and I have unplugged the heartbeat link to it to block any config overrides from the broken master. I have tried a reinstall of the Smoothwall image and restoring a backup to it, with no luck. I was half tempted to use my limited Linux knowledge to run APT Upgrade/Update on it to see if that worked, but thought it might invalidate any support.
