Has anyone experience issues where the Mac Mini's would run out of storage due to the both Logic and Garageband program and sound files have been installed and now we are unable to do any OS updates. Not to mention this is also taken up by 150GB of system data which is not possible to remove. Has anyone run into this .....? I can't find a workaround.

This is regarding Co-Pilot age restrictions. (Minor, Not Adult etc).

I'm successfully allowing only year 9+ to access CoPilot from: CoPilot chat, CoPilot app, Teams, waffle button in e.g. Outlook etc.

I'm syncing MIS student users to M365 via Locker.

Setting an attribute in Locker that changes the 'Age Group' property depending on their.... erm.. age, which in turn restricts them from accessing CoPilot from some of the above... except Outlook.

I'm also setting the 'Department' attribute to e.g. 'Pupils year 9' to create dynamic security groups.

In M365 admin centre / Settings / Integrated Apps / CoPilot I'm only allowing staff and specific year groups to access CoPilot.

	This all works as planned.

However, a LARGE snag when students NOT in the above list try and access Sharepoint sites, Class Teams, etc etc.

Has anyone got this working without breaking everything ?

We’ve got the usual mix coming up: AP changes, switch and cabinet tidying, camera checks, a few small installs, and jobs that need someone physically onsite while the buildings are quieter.

The technical work itself is usually straightforward. The harder part is access, keys, site contacts, evidence and sign-off. We also need to make sure our own safeguarding procedures are followed, especially when several schools need work done during the same period.

We may use Kinettix for some of the onsite field work when our internal team can’t cover every location, but I haven’t settled on what should stay in-house and what can be handed over.

How do others manage this across multiple schools? Do you rely mainly on internal technicians, local contractors, trust-approved suppliers, a field services partner, or a mix depending on the job?

Zabbix and Sharp Printers

https://www.edugeek.net/forums/topic/226755-zabbix-and-sharp-printers/?do=findComment&comment=2030006

I've been on-again off-again for the last year or so trying to make a better Zabbix console for monitoring ink and paper levels in our sharp copiers than just throwing up a Top Items widget. Anyone managed to do this?

The main issue I keep coming up against is that the Sharp printer template we use uses a discovery item to create the paper tray items, so all the paper tray items get the same name. This means that the top hosts doesn't differentiate between the trays and just show the data for the "first one" in each column. Only options I see are making a dial (or similar) for each ink/paper level on each printer (7 dials * 28 printers - way more effort than it's worth), or trying to rewrite the printer template (probably beyond my skillset, and would end up being bespoke to this model/tray config so more work going forward to keep it up to date).

Any Scuba Divers?

https://www.edugeek.net/forums/topic/226754-any-scuba-divers/?do=findComment&comment=2030000

Been thinking about doing a Scuba try dive / Open Water Course (i know someone who's soon to be an instructor as he has made it sound really good).

Odd question, but we have a problem with Edulink where it syncs "all" student records even for leavers from Bromcom which is then clashing with a Staff login because they have the same email address (being the same record within Bromcom) - Does anyone know if you can remove "just" the student record via Bromcom without deleting the active staff account? (Trying to change email etc on student record also updates the staff because it's the same user as such). As the staff member was a student more than 20 years ago there's no valid reason to have the student data and it's just causing issues with syncs currently
