Most students tend to give more than one MBA admission exams rather than sitting for just one and waiting for the results. So most of the times students are flushed with offers, there are institutes within your own state and if done better than other states. When selecting a B-school, one needs to look for various aspects of the university like infrastructure, area of specialisation, faculty, placement record, alumni networks, and foreign affiliations, among others. It is important for students to realize that most of the stuff mentioned here might clash like infrastructure and faculty but one should bear in mind to choose what is best for him.

One factor that plays an important role in choosing a B-school is location. This location is with respect to student's home. Not many would opt for a college in Mumbai when Delhi suits them better. The other part of this location factor is its location with respect to interaction it provides with the corporate world. Even though most of the colleges are situated in places that are free from all the noise and utterances of a city but there are colleges like JBIMS which because of its prime location offers a better interaction option for the students.

The next factor is area of specialization, this shall depend upon the student. This is an easier option to look for as usually colleges have built a reputation in a particular field.

Placement records are in fact a very important factor to look out for. A better placement in a particular area suggests that specialization in that area is good which in turn suggests a good faculty. Though, companies offer placements in almost all colleges but the number of placements they offer in a college says it all.

Alumni networks, industry linkages, and international linkages are also important. Good international linkages suggest good opportunities with international companies. Alumni networks speak a lot about the college and its reputation.

More institutes to accept TOEFL Score

The number of institutions signing in to use TOEFL scores continue to increase at a fast pace. An additional 383 institutions have become TOEFL score users within the last year. Globally, around a million students appear for the test every year. The TOEFl test has been accepted by the top ranking universities around the world for the last 45 years.

Educational Testing Service, the creators of the test, announced that the English language proficiency test for both undergraduate and graduate applicants has now been accepted by 7,300 institutes across the world, making it one of the most widely accepted tests.

The Toefl test is accepted at 5,175 institutes in United States and Canada 1,000 in Europe, 600 in Asia and 200 in the United Kingdom . Institutes in Australia and New Zealand have also joined the bandwagon.

“Every student planning to *”study abroad":http://studyabroad.learnhub.com/* takes either GRE or Toefl. For Indians, where one in every 25 student heads abroad, this is great news," said Palav Sharma, counselor.

“As the number of institutions accepting the Toefl test is rising rapidly, we have opened additional testing centres in India and abroad,” said Teresa Sanchez-Lazer, executive director, Toefl product management. Currently there are more than 4500 test administration sites globally.

GRE Format changes from 2011

The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) , a test taken by 600,000 students across the world each year, will look significantly different in 2011. The Educational Testing Service , which administers the exam, announced its plans to revamp the GRE. on Dec. 4, calling the changes the “largest revisions” in the test’s history.

ETS spokesman Tom Ewing said changes have been a “long time coming.” ETS first announced changes in 2006, but delayed making them until 2007 to add more Internet-based test centers. In 2007, it canceled the planned changes. The new test will include a new grading scale and an increased emphasis on reasoning and critical thinking skills, while focusing less on analogy and vocabulary sections.

Changes to the computer systems the test is administered through will allow students to skip questions and come back later to complete them before finishing the section. Previously, students could not go back to answer questions they skipped. The most significant change, Ewing said, will be in the types of prompts.

“The questions asked will be more focused and require thoughtful responses rather than strictly memorization,” he said. Ewing said exam changes will benefit future test takers.

There is good news for all GRE takers. With the introduction of the GRE revised General Test, Educational Testing Service (ETS) will offer 50% discount on the test fee to all individuals, for a limited-time period, who take the test between August 1 and September 30, 2011.

The announcement appeared on the GRE website when ETS revealed a completely new test-taker section designed to educate potential graduate and business school students about the GRE revised General Test.

The GRE revised General Test will deliver many new features when it is introduced in 2011. Some changes are –:
1) More questions based on real life situation to analyse students’ thinking and reasoning skills.

2) New navigation features, including the ability to skip questions and go back to them later within a section for a better test-taking experience.

3) More emphasis on reading — and no antonyms or analogies.

4) New answer types, such as filling in a number or providing more than one response when asked, so students can better demonstrate what they know.

5) On-screen calculator for the Quantitative Reasoning section.

Speaking about these changes to the Indian Express, David G. Payne, VP and COO for Graduate and College Programs at ETS, said, “We know students are going to find the overall testing experience better with the introduction of the GRE revised General Test.”

Starting in August 2011, the split-test administration will be eliminated in China (including Hong Kong), Korea and Taiwan, and will be replaced with computer-based testing one to two times per month. Candidates appearing from those regions will be able to take the Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical Writing sections on computer, all on the same day. This change has been made to cater to growing number of Asian students taking the exam.

IIM Rohtak Begins Functioning

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Rohtak has been inaugurated. As per sources, the institute had been formally launched by the Vice Chairman of Tata Motors Limited and Chairperson of the Board of Governors at IIT-Rohtak, Ravi Kant. Currently, IIM Rohtak will commence with an intake capacity of 50 students, all of which have been filled up for the current academic year.

Until the time IIM Rohtak gets its own faculty, the faculty of IIM-Lucknow would organize classes. The process of recruiting faculty members to teach at the university is likely to take a period of about a year. However, a permanent director for the institute would be recruited within a month.

In addition, presently, the new IIM will begin functioning from the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) campus, until it can have its own building, which might take a time period of 2 years. Moreover, the MDU would also be providing temporary residence to the faculty members from IIM-Lucknow.

UK Visa Letters become obsolete

From 22nd February 2010, all potential Tier 4 students applying to UK from inside or outside the UK must use a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) in their application. All applications that do not contain a CAS will fall for refusal.

Institutions will need to provide all potential students with a CAS reference number and your sponsor licence number (SLN). Institutions will also need to give them all the information they will need when making their application. This information is sometimes called a ''CAS statement''; it is up to sponsors to decide its format and how to send it to their potential students. A ''CAS statement'' may contain:

student name;
student date of birth;
course title;
course start and end date;
details of any financial sponsorship/deposits taken;
documents that should be included as part of an application to prove qualifications;
CAS number; and
ATAS certificate (if appropriate).

This additional information will assist our caseworkers and entry clearance officers when making decisions on migrant applications under Tier 4.

If a prospective student has a visa letter issued before 22 February 2010, they can no longer use it to apply for a Tier 4 student visa. If institutions have issued a visa letter to a student who is intending to apply to us, they must replace the visa letter with a CAS.

India No.1 again at sending its students to US for Studies

The number of international students at colleges and universities in the United States increased by 8% to an all-time high of 671,616 in the 2008/09 academic year, according to the Open Doors report.

India is No. 1 again, in sending 1,03,260 students to USA. According to the Open Doors 2009 report, India has sent more than one lakh students to USA for the academic year 2008-09. The Indian numbers went up 9.2 per cent from 94,563 in 2007/2008 to cross 100,000 for the first time to retain its position as the top place of origin for international students in the US. China remained in second place, although there was a sharp 21 per cent spike in students from China, going up from 81,127 last Academic Year to 98,235 this year. South Korea (increased from 69,000 to 75,065) remained in third place.

This is the eighth consecutive year that India has remained in the top spot. Indian student inflow contributed nearly $ 3 billion to the US economy in 2008. Overall, international students contribute $17.8 billion to the US economy.

The largest growth this year was seen in undergraduate enrolments, which increased by 11%, compared to a 2% increase in graduate enrolments. According to Open Doors 2009, universities in California hosted the largest number of foreign students with 93,124, up 10%, followed by New York with 74,934, up 7%, and Texas with 58,188, up 12%.

For the eighth consecutive year, University of Southern California hosted the largest number of international students, this year reporting 7,482. New York University held in second place with 6,761 international students and Columbia University hosted 6,685, displacing Texas A & M University (College Station). Rounding out the top five 2008/09 host institutions are University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (6,570 students) and Purdue University (6,136 students).

MHT-CET-2010 Maharashtra Dates announced

N.B. (i) (a): A candidate is required to specify clearly of the application form the services for which he/she wishes to be considered in the order of his/her preference. A male candidate is advised to indicate as many preferences as he wishes to, so that having regard to his rank in the order of merit due consideration can be given to this preferences when making appointment.

Since women candidates are eligible for OTA only, they should give OTA as their first and only preference.

(b) (i): If a male candidate is competing for short service commission (Army) only, he should indicate OTA as the one and only choice. However, a male candidate competing for short service commission course at OTA as well as permanent commission course at IMA, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy should indicate OTA as his last preference, otherwise OTA will be deemed to be the last choice even if it is given a higher preference by the candidate.

(b) (ii): Women candidates are being considered only for short service commission at OTA. They should indicate OTA as the only choice.

(c): Candidates who desire to join Air Force Academy must indicate AFA as first choice, as they have to be administered pilot aptitude battery test at one of the AFSB and AF Medical at Central Medical Establishment/Institute of Aviation Medicines. Choice exercised for AFA as second or third will be treated as invalid.

(d) Candidates should note that, except as provided in N.B. (ii) below, they will be considered for appointment to those courses only for which they exercise their preference and for no other course(s)

(e): No request for addition/alteration in the preferences already indicated by a candidate in his/her application will be entertained by the commission. No change of choice once exercised will be allowed. Second choice will come for consideration only when the first choice is not offered to the candidate by Services HQ. When first choice is offered and a candidate declines the same, his/her candidature will be cancelled for all other choices for regular commission.

N.B. (ii): The left-over candidates of IMA/Naval Academy/Air Force Academy courses viz. those who have been recommended by the Union Public Service Commission for grant of permanent commission on the basis of the final results of this examination, but who could not be inducted on these courses for any reason whatsoever may be considered for grant of SSC even if they have not indicated their choice for this course in their applications, if they are subsequently willing to be considered for this course subject to the following conditions: (i) There is a shortfall after detailing all the candidates who competed for the SSC course; and (ii) The candidates who are detailed for training even though they have not expressed their preference for SSC will be placed in the order of Merit List after the last candidate who had opted for this course, as these candidates will be getting admission to the course to which they are not entitled according to the preference expressed by them (iii) Candidates with Air Force as first and only choice cannot be considered as left over for grant of SSC (OTA) if they fail in the pilot aptitude battery test. Such candidates, if they desire to be considered for SSC (OTA) should exercise their option for OTA also.

Note 1: NCC ‘C’ certificate (Army wing/Senior division air wing/Naval wing) holders may also compete for the vacancies in the short service commission course but since there is no reservation of vacancies for them in this course, they will be treated as general candidates for the purpose of filling up vacancies in this course. Candidates who have yet to pass NCC ‘C’ certificate (Army wing/Senior division air wing/Naval wing) examination, but are otherwise eligible to compete for the reserved vacancies, may also apply but they will be required to submit the proof of passing the NCC ‘C’ certificate (Army wing/Senior division air wing/Naval wing) examination to reach the Army HQ/Rtg. CDSE entry for SSC male candidates and SSC women entry for female candidates West Block-III, R.K. Note 2: In the event of sufficient number of qualified NCC ‘C’ certificate (Army wing/Senior division air wing/Naval wing) holders not becoming available on the results of the examination to fill all the vacancies reserved for them in the Indian Military Academy course/Air force academy course/Naval academy course, the unfilled reserved vacancies shall be treated as unreserved and filled by general candidates.

Admission to the above courses will be made on the results of the written examination to be conducted by the commission followed by intelligence and personality test by the services selection board of candidates who qualify in the written examination. Centres of examination: The examination will be held at the following centres

The centres and the date of holding the examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of the commission. While every effort will be made to allot the candidates to the centre of their choice for examination, the commission may, at their discretion allot a different centre to a candidate, when circumstances so warrant. Candidates admitted to the examination will be informed of the time table and place or places of examination.

Candidates should note that no request for change of centre will normally be granted. When a candidate, however, desires a change in centre from the one he/she had indicated in his/her application form for the examination, he/she must send a letter addressed to the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, giving full justification as to why he/she desires a change in centre. Such requests will be considered on merits but requests received after the 25th November, 2009 will not be entertained under any circumstances

Condition of Eligibility

(a) Nationality: A candidate must either be (i) a citizen of India, or (ii) a subject of Bhutan, or (iii) a subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

(b) Age limits, Sex and Marital Status

(i) For IMA – Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1987 and not later than 1st January, 1992 only are eligible

(ii) For Naval Academy – Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1989 (2nd January, 1987 in case of NCC naval wing ‘C’ certificate holders) and not later than 1st January, 1992 only are eligible

(iii) For Air Force Academy – Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1988 and not later than 1st January, 1992 only are eligible

(iv) For Officer’s Training Academy (SSC course for men) – Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd January, 1986 and not later than 1st January, 1992 only are eligible

(v) For Officers Training Academy (SSC women non-technical course) – Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have born not earlier than 2nd January, 1986 and not later than 1st January, 1992.

The date of birth accepted by the commission is that entered in the matriculation or secondary school leaving certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to matriculation or in an extract from a Register of matriculates maintained by a university which must be certified by the proper authority of the university or in the higher secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. These certificates are required to be submitted only after the declaration of the result of the written part of the examination. No other document relating to age like horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from municipal corporation, service records and the like will be accepted.

Educational Qualification

(i) For IMA and Officers Training Academy – Degree of a recognized university or equivalent

(ii) For Naval Academy – B.Sc (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of engineering

(iii) For Air Force Academy – Degree of a recognized university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of engineering

Graduates with first choice as Army/Navy/Air force are to submit proof of graduation provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB interview at the SSB

Candidates who are studying in the final year degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination to reach the Army HQ/Rtg. CDSE Entry, West Block III, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066 in case of IMA/SSC first choice candidates and Naval HQ ‘DMPR’, (OI & R section) room no, 204, ‘C’ wing, Sena Bhawan, New Delhi-110011 in case of Navy first choice candidates and PO3(A)/Air Headquarters, ‘J’ Block, Room No. 17, Opp. Vayu Bhawan, Motilal Nehru Marg, New Delhi-110011 in case of Air Force first choice candidates by the following dates failing which their candidature will stand cancelled

Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognized by government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees would also be eligible for admission to the examination.

Note 1: Candidates, who have yet to pass their degree examination will be eligible only if they are studying in the final year of degree examination. Those candidates who have yet to qualify in the final year degree examination and are allowed to appear in the UPSC examination should note that this is only a special concession given to them. They are required to submit proof of passing the degree examination by the prescribed date and no request for extending this date will be entertained on the grounds of late conduct of basic qualifying university examination, delay in declaration of results or any other ground whatsoever.

Note 2: Candidates who are debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any type of commission in the Defence Services shall not be eligible for admission to the examination and if admitted, their candidature will be cancelled

Note 3: In the event of air force candidates being suspended from flying training for failure to learn flying, they would be absorbed in the navigation/administration/logistic branch of the IAF. This will be subject to availability of vacancies and fulfilling the laid down qualitative requirements (including 60% in graduation)

Fee: A candidate seeking admission to examination must pay the commission a fee of Rs 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) through a single central recruitment fee stamp of the requisite denomination. Central recruitment fee stamp (not postage stamps) may be obtained from the post office and affixed firmly on the application form in the space provided therein. The stamp must be got cancelled from the issuing post office with the date stamp of the post office in such a manner that the impression of the cancellation mark partially overflows on the application form itself but within the space provided on the form. The impression of the cancellation mark should be clear and distinct to facilitate the identification of data and the post office of issue.

All female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST are not required to pay any fee. No fee exemptions is, however, available to OBC candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.

How to apply

(a) The UPSC have developed an application form common for all their examinations which can be processed on computerized machines. This application form along with an Information Brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending the application is obtainable from the designated head post offices/post offices throughout the country as listed in Appendix-III of this notice against cash payment of Rs 20/- (Rupees twenty only). Form should be purchased from the designated head post offices/post offices only and not from any other agency. This form can be used only once and for only one examination. The candidates should also fill up in the relevant places of the Acknowledgement Card, their application form number (8-digit) and the name of the examination. The applicants are required to affix the postage stamp of Rs 6/- on the acknowledgement cards and send the same along with application form to UPSC. If an applicant fails to affix the postage stamp of requisite amount his/her acknowledgement card will not be dispatched and commission will not be responsible for non-receipt of acknowledgement cards by the applicant. The duly filled in application form and the acknowledgement card along with unstamped self addressed envelope to receive a SSB interview call letter should then be mailed in the special envelope supplied with the Information Brochure. The candidates should also write the name of examination viz. ‘Combined Defence Services Examination-(I), 2010’ on the envelope before dispatching it to Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069.

You do not need to do any specific course in banking to start a career in banking. While nationalized banks hire graduates from any discipline through the Bank Probationary Officer’s exam, multi-national banks prefer MBAs from the premier management institutes. After graduation preferably in commerce or economics, you are eligible for the an exam, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This all-India exam is held for class I posts. Graduates, postgraduates, CAs, and MBAs in the age group of 21-26 years are also eligible.

In Bank PO Exams, you will be tested for logical reasoning, mental ability, numerical aptitude and general English. (See Bank PO Question Bank and Previous Years Solved Question Papers) The test is followed by an interview. Most private and foreign banks directly recruit MBAs from premier management institutes, chartered accountants with above average results, finance experts and economists with postgraduate qualifications.

Nevertheless, there are some universities and institutes that offer banking courses. The University of Madras offers a bachelor’s degree in bank management and a PG diploma in banking. Others offering this course include Aligarh Muslim University and Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, offers a BBA in banking and insurance. Reserve Bank of India Scholarship - RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme 2009

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme to generate interest in and awareness about the Indian banking sector and RBI. Under the scheme, the RBI will select a maximum of 150 young scholars through a countrywide competitive examination and awarded a scholarship.

Selection test will focus on the role and functions of RBI and banks in India and will be held in English as well as all major regional languages. Selected candidates will be required to work on projects in select offices of RBI for 2 to 3 months and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs 7,500/- per month during the duration of the project. RBI will assist outstation awardees in boarding and lodging. The awareness shall have no right/claim for an appointment in the RBI. Any candidate who had qualified and worked at RBI under the RBI Young Scholar Award Scheme in any of the previous years need not apply again.

Eligibility

(A) Educational Qualification: All students across India who have completed 10 + 2 years of formal education or its equivalent from recognized institutions/boards in 2009 or before and are currently pursuing their undergraduate studies. However, those having enrolled for or having acquired degree(s) higher than graduation will not be eligible. Candidates who have qualified and worked at RBI as a Young Scholar in any of the previous years are not eligible to apply.

(B) Age : Candidates should be of age 18 years or more but less than 23 years as on September 1, 2009.All students, between 18 and 23 years of age, currently pursuing their undergraduate studies in any subject under any recognized university in India, are eligible to take the competitive examination.

There is no application fee
The selection test will be held on January 10, 2010 at various centres across India.
The results of the selection test are likely to be announced in the middle of March 2010.

Entrance Examination

The entrance exam will be conducted in English, Hindi and 11 other regional languages. Examination Pattern and Syllabus

The examination will be of objective type with multiple choices for answers. The paper will be of approximately 90 minutes duration and will have questions related to role and functioning of the RBI, the trend of banking industry in India and general economic and financial environment of the country.

What is GATE ?

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee comprising faculty from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board - GATE, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Admission to post graduate programmes with MHRD and some other government scholarship/assistantship at engineering colleges/institutes in the country are open to those who qualify through GATE. GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy or Master degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications are eligible for Master/Doctoral programmes in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science. To avail the scholarship, the candidate must additionally secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. This annual contest, co-sponsored by NASA Ames and the National Space Society (NSS) is for 6-12th graders (11-18 years old) from anywhere in the world. Grades 6-9 and 10-12 are judged separately, except for the grand prize. Students develop space settlement designs and related materials. These are sent to NASA Ames for judgement.

Applications are invited from students to participate in the International Olympiads 2010 in physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy and junior science, There will be five stages for selection. TCS IT Wiz, India's biggest IT quiz for schools, started in 1999, celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2008. NTPC Scholarships 2009

NTPC Limited, a public sector enterprises in power sector invites application from Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes students pursuing full time diploma course in Electrical / Mechanical / Instrumentation / Electronics / Civil in any of the institution recognized by the Government. The scholarship will be given for academic year 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.

Scholarship will be given to students of second year. Scholarship amount of Rs. 1000/- (one thousand rupee) will be given for 12 months in a year excluding the first year of curriculum. Students in receipt of NTPC scholarships will not be entitled to draw any other scholarship / Financial Aid / Stipend. Other terms and conditions will be followed as per NTPC Scholarship Scheme. Candidates can apply for the scholarship on or before 15.09-2009 in Ihe prescribed application format to be duly forwarded by Head of Institution / College. NIIT Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarship Test 2009 on September 13

THE 19th Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarship Test‘ will be conducted on Sunday, September 13, by Global Talent Development Corporation, NIIT, across the country.

The 19-year old annual scholarship program rewards fee waivers to meritorious students and graduates desirous of building successful careers in diverse industries that require Information Technology skills. NIIT plans to offer scholarship to the students in the country, this year, based on their performance in class XIIth score and personal interview. For select career programs, scholarships will be awarded based on their performance in the competitive written test, personal interview and Class XIIth score.

With the theme of `Have Something Bigger to Celebrate’, this year’s program will offer Merit based fee waiver of up to Rs. 34,000 on NIIT’s IT training programs. This is NIIT’s gesture to enhance employability of meritorious students and make them job ready to meet the industry needs. As a part of the high aptitude community, they also get to pursue Global Vendor Certification backed program and get the benefit of collaborative learning.

SNAP Test for Symbiosis Postgraduate Programmes

Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is a common written test for the admission processes of Symbiosis postgraduate institutes. These institutes are either affiliated to SIEC Deemed University or approved by AICTE. SNAP Test is conducted under the aegis of SIEC Deemed University.

It is a mandatory written test for admission into any postgraduate programme at Symbiosis. However, it is only the first step. Each institute has its own selection process and a student aspiring to do higher studies at Symbiosis needs to do the following:

SNAP 2009 Test Date: 20th December 2009.

Registration for SNAP:

Starts in the month of September 2009. However exact date will be published on the web site and in news papers. All Post Graduate programmes of constituent institutes of SIU.

Process of Registration:-

Register for SNAP Test at www.snaptest.org.This will generate your SNAP ID. For different modes of payment different ‘Payment Advice’ formats are created. Choose payment mode and print a ‘Payment Advice’ form online.

Mode of Payment:-

Cash Payment at Axis Bank.

Demand draft : Get a demand draft from any Nationalize Bank in favor of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune. Sign the single copy of the ‘Payment Advice’ for DD and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat only.

Payment through Credit Card : Students may pay directly through either Master or Visa card online.
Prospectus will be sent to candidates by Symbiosis Test Secretariat.

The candidate has to make separate registration and payment for the particular institute where he is interested to take admission. For this the mode of payment is either by Credit Card or by Demand Draft. For candidates both the above mentioned processes are mandatory i.e. candidate has to pay for Test Fee + Prospectus Fee and pay separately to the institute as a particular institute’s registration fee.

MAT Score is acceptable even to certain other Institutes for considering admission of candidates for Post Graduate Degree / Diploma programmes, besides the above Institutes, subject to specific cut-off marks and other admission parameters.

Q. How many Management Institutes participate in MAT. Do they keep on changing or remain the same? Is there a same admission criterion for each & every Institute? Are they recognized, by AICTE? Do they have hostel facility? What about the total fee?

A. The number of participating Management Institutes may vary. The number of MI’s keeps on changing from test to test. Admission criteria for every institute is different. All MIs participating in MAT are either AICTE approved or affiliated to some Universities, for further information you may contact the MIs/Universities of your choice. The list of various Management Institutes /Universities is available in MAT bulletin along with the admission notification. It may be worthwhile to go through the brochure of the Management Institutes for detailed information.

Q. What is the validity of MAT score?

A. For applying to MI’s it is suggested that the prospectus of the MI’s opted should be bought.

Q. Is MAT held all over the country what about a person living abroad? Can he/she apply for it?

A. MAT is conducted in all major cities in the country and in leading cities abroad. For further clarification, see MAT bulletin or contact our information centre.

Q. Do we get a separate Admit Card for appearing in MAT?

A. Candidate has to download his/her admit card from aima website 7 days before the Test Date with the registration form number. No separate admit card is mailed to candidate.

Q. Is there any age bar for it? Any Job experience required, to appear in MAT?

A. There is no age bar. Job experience is not necessary.

Q. Is appearance in MAT necessary for getting admission into PGDM/ MBA programme ?

A. Yes, MAT is necessary for admission into PGDM / equivalent programmes offered by AIMA or other MIs who participate in it.
