            <title>Fessenden-Bowdon Public School: INSTEP-Kickoff</title>
            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/edutech/workshops/~3/wmzPOl7joU0/</link>
<description>Instructional Technology Partners (INSTEP) is designed to support teachers as they move along on the continuum of technology integration. The kick-off, involving the administrator and entire teaching staff, enables teachers to see what resources are available to them in their particular school and provide them with the pedagogy behind technology integration.

Post kick-off, the EduTech partner works with three to five teachers one-on-one. Each teacher designs, modifies and integrates a technology-based activity into some part of their curriculum. A requirement of the class is that each teacher is to mentor one other teacher. Upon request, more than one wave of teachers can be taken through this process for an additional charge.

In order for this program to be successful, the school administrator/principal must be involved in all phases by attending a kick-off session with the entire staff, observing the process, and being present when the lesson or activity is implemented in the classroom. The administrator also offers support, encourages the teachers to complete the course requirements, and identifies possible ways to sustain the integration momentum.

A graduate credit is available, for an additional charge, to the three to five teachers participating.

            <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/edutech/workshops/~3/IcXl5ubsIhk/</link>

<description>Most technology-rich projects are low-level and time-consuming projects. Students rarely get beyond the technology to the thinking. Why? The problem is too many teachers use technology tools just because they exist in their building and don&amp;#8217;t focus on whether this technology tool is actually enhancing student learning. Participants will be taken through the integration process; content, assessment, standards, essential questions, and technology tools and resources. This is a hands-on session where participants will be able to explore web sites for integration ideas.</description>
