An ION single core Eee PC called the 1201NL has been spotted lately from the Asus lines which could have good potential. The 1201N as we know, is a mighty fast netbook available on the market, which boasts the dual core 1.6Ghz Intel Atom 330 processor and the NVIDIA ION chipset.

It seems that this new arrival from the Asus Eee PC 1201 range, which might be better known as the Seashell range, carries a single core Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz processor and the NVIDIA ION chipset and will feature Windows 7 Starter instead of Windows 7 Home Premium, which could be found in the 1201N.

But that is where the differences stop between these two siblings. In all other aspects, the 1201N and the 1201NL carry the same foundation of features, such as the popular chiclet keyboard, HDMI-out and 12.1 inch display at 1366×768 resolution.

The price for the 1201NL should be a little cheaper though, considering it comes with lower specifications than it’s older brother, but we’ll probably soon see where Asus wants to take this upcoming release.

Some standard questions are asked, and other specific ones such as how did you find your Eee PC,  what series do you use, what do you consider the most important feature when shopping for an Eee PC, what is your main reason for having one, what do you intend to use it for and much more.

It really does seem like one can almost “order” the so called perfect Eee PC if enough responses come through with particular features, so give it a go and see what you think. Let them know what great feature you wouldn’t mind upgrading for and you might just get it.

You can also offer feedback on what is already available and how you would like to see particular aspects improved as well as being asked which aspect are you the most unhappy with.

As many readers would already be aware, this means enhanced durability for the T91MT because the SSD drive brings with it near 0% chance of mechanical failure as it contains no moving parts, is much quieter than other hard drives and uses far less power as well. It would also give a much, much less chance of data loss due to failure of the drive.

The Eee PC T91MT comes bundled with Windows 7 Home Premium and supports touch gestures such as rotating, pinching and swiping, let alone the fact that it can also be used as a tablet PC.

It also provides a 8.9 inch screen, weighs less than 1Kg and is of a very compact size. The Eee PC T91MT is quickly proving to be a very interesting and anticipated release.

As a follow-up, the Eee PC 1201N is one of latest Asus netbooks to grace us with its presence. It weighs just 3.2 pounds and is boasting some interesting specifications.

It features the Intel Atom Dual Core 1.6Ghz N330 processor, 2GB of DDR system memory which can be upgraded to 8GB maximum and comes bundled with Windows 7 Home Premium. It also brings with it a spacious 250GB (some say 320GB) SATA hard drive at 5400RPM speed as well as 500GB of Asus Web Storage. Did I mention the NVIDIA ION (GeForce 9400M) GPU?

It boasts a 12.1 inch screen, which is a little bigger than most netbooks, but that compromise helps us in getting a larger and easier to use keyboard. For connectivity, it brings exactly what you have come to expect from the latest netbook releases; 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and fast ethernet. Bluetooth is also included as well as a 0.3 megapixel webcam.

So if you are looking for a new hobby Eee PC for general use, watching HD movies or even playing some games which comes with very decent specifications, multi-touch gestures and a claimed 8 hour battery life, check out the 1201N. It is available for pre-order on Amazon and should be available early January next year.

The Eee PC 1008P has just made an appearance but unfortunately we are only able to tell you a few things about it. It is a 10.1 inch netbook, featuring similar dimensions to the Eee PC 1008HA. It can be had in very bright pink or gold brown colors. However, what makes this stand out, is that it features the Intel Atom 1.66Ghz “Pineview” processor, which features an integrated graphics adapter and on-chip memory controller. It is claimed to only need 6.5 watts of power.

Update: I have double checked and confirmed the fact that the 1201N can be upgraded to a handy 8GB of RAM.

We have the Eee PC 1005HR, which comes with a ten inch screen at 1366×768 resolution, a very decent battery life which should bring about 7 hours of internet connected time and about 5 hours of 1080p movie watching time.

The Eee PC 1201N is now available for pre-order from selected retailers. The 1201N is special in that it is the first Eee PC to be powered by the NVIDIA ION graphics chipset. It also comes with a 11.6 inch screen bringing a 1366 x 768 resolution as well. It will feature the Atom N330 1.6Ghz processor.

Also we have the Eee PC 1201T, which comes with a large 12.1 inch screen, which may start to be borderline laptop rather than extra portable netbook. It will also boast the AMD dual core 1.6Ghz Neo MV40 processor and ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics. It is a concern however, that battery life may be compromised in exchange for the processor and graphics card, which should 3D accelerated games play quite nicely though.

Asus no longer produce this netbook, but they have not forgotten their followers. Asus now have a Windows 7 upgrade guide for users with Windows XP or for those who may already have Windows 7 but are looking for further tips, guidelines and other “official” tidbits of information.

Asus recommend a BIOS upgrade first, then the installation of Windows 7, followed by some utilities and drivers and ends with information on the Super Hybrid Engine and the Asus Update software.

So give it a look see and find out what they have to say. Maybe you already know everything in the guide, but a thumbs up to Asus for still supporting the 1000H with user guides, updated drivers and utilities.
