Division X has been providing premium domain name registration, web hosting, marketing, and development services world-wide since 1998. <dc:subject>Entrepreneurship, Technology</dc:subject>

DivisionX was founded in 1998 with the aim of providing the highest quality Internet services at affordable prices to customers world-wide. We currently have offices in London, and Los Angeles, and the technical staff in our employment are probably some of the most highly qualified in the industry today. Our clients range from some of the world’s largest corporations to small businesses and private individuals. Typically our clients have been with us for four or more years.

We provide more domain types for registration than virtually any other registrar. Our servers are housed in one of the most secure facilities world-wide. Primary bandwidth is supplied by Savvis. Savvis supply a number of stock exchanges and governments, and provide services for popular events such as the Emmy awards. Our secondary bandwidth suppliers are Level3 who supply services to virtually all of the Fortune 100.

All of our services can be tailored to fit the needs of our customers. Our aim is to allow you to distinguish your business from those of your competitors. If you want things your way, if you want friendly, reliable service at a reasonable price, or if you are simply tired of being treated as a number, then we are the company for you. We will always try and provide you with advice that actually relates to your particular problem and keep working with you until we have succeeded in helping you to your s atisfaction. You won’t get any cut-and-paste answers from us. This is probably the reason we have never had a single customer complaint. You are definitely not just a number to us.

In addition to providing our clients with the knowledge, tools, and partners required to achieve rapid growth and success in China, NetBridge Global helps companies create a strong bridge to local players.

Relationships are the lifeblood of Chinese business and market success. Often familiar to those with even a rudimentary knowledge of China business, the term guanxi (pronounced “guan-tsee”) is a crucial element of doing business in China. Guanxi describes a personal connection between two people or a network of people in which one person or group is able to prevail upon another person or group to perform a favor or service, and vice versa.

We build our success not only by providing the critical service of introducing our clients to prospective customers, partners, and agents, but by helping our clients develop and nurture relationships based on the important but complex concept of guanxi.

Susannah Dunlap joins E factor Radio to discuss the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund and how entrepreneurs can help BCEF and other non-for-profit organizations with innovation.

In the month of October, EFactor is going pink, supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In this segment we discuss:

What are some of the major challenges faced by non-profits such as the BCEF?

How can entrepreneurs work together with non-profit organizations to solve these problems?

Throughout this month, we will feature various entrepreneurs who have survived breast cancer and their businesses did too.

For all of us here at E Factor, celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month goes beyond” being in the know. It goes back to being in the past, remembering our loved ones suffering from this cancer. And we know we’re not the only ones.

Understanding Venture Capital with Ralph Patterson

Ralph Patterson joins us to discuss the nuances and considerations when presenting a business to VC firms.

      <dc:subject>Finance, Starting Your Business</dc:subject>

Ralph Patterson Bio

Ralph has been an executive at both large and small high-tech companies and the CEO of a start-up. Since he left corporate life about a dozen years ago, he has been the President of his consulting company. For the last six years, he has focused exclusively on helping start-ups get funded. His clients have ranged from venture capital firms, Fortune 500 companies, to small companies and start-ups. As a consultant to Technology Ventures Corp, a government-funded company that successfully helped start-ups get funding, he evaluated over 300 investor pitches and over 1500 executive summaries.

Recently he has started a new effort, Bay Area Entrepreneurs Workshop, to help more entrepreneurs get funded.
Ralph frequently gives talks around the Bay Area; one of the more popular being“13 Mistakes Entrepreneurs Make.”

That talk is serialized on his blog http://www.baeworkshop.com/baeblog. It examines mistakes drawn from Ralph’s consulting experience in which fundable companies were made un-fundable by naive and often dumbfounding mistakes made by their CEOs.

Recently, Ralph has joined with eFactor to branch out geographically, agreeing to speak at eFactor venues in Dallas March 28, Los Angeles April 18 and Miami May 24. His topic in each city will be “Investibility,” a discussion of what it takes to get funding from a venture capitalist or angel group.

Ralph has a Doctorate of EE from Washington University in St. Louis and is a member of three engineering honor societies. He has been the General Chairman of the International Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Materials in Washington DC, the Program Chairman of Intermag, and the Reviews Editor of the IEEE Transaction on Magnetics.

A Note from Alex…
My passion for wine began as a child at dinner as my mother would explain the differences in wines and its complimentary value with food. At the same time, we lived in Tunisia (North Africa) and youngster we would participate in Roman digs at local ruins looking for artifacts. We found many wine jars, amphorae, and decorations that included grapes. I became fascinated with the history of wine and food.

We found many wine jars, amphorae, and decorations that included grapes. I became fascinated with the history of wine and food.

Fast forward 12 years, I attended the University of Texas at Austin and began my career as an entrepreneur in college. A long with a friend we founded Personal Wine. Part of the trials and tribulations of owning a business is loneliness. I felt isolated for many years from many of my peers as the majority of them worked for larger corporations and here I was in a tiny incubator office looking for every possible way to succeed. Associating with like minded people who have created their own business and to help people in early stage development has been a tremendous asset to me. My only regret is that I felt so isolated for so long that I only wish that I opened up my Entrepreneur network sooner.

A few months ago I spoke with Patrick Stern at EFactor about the organization. He explained to me that EFactor was not a round table referral source for more business, but rather a way for business owners to mix, mingle and participate in presentations and panel discussions which was something I felt very strongly about. Thru EFactor I have met some really incredible people who I feel will be lifelong contacts and friends.

In the 5 years of M&A experience in both Amsterdam and New York, Eva worked on a variety of projects mainly involving companies with an international focus.

EFactor was formed in 2007 by Roeland Reinders, AdrieReinders, and Marion Freijsen. The EFactor is an online community and virtual marketplace connecting over 800.000 entrepreneurs and investors both on- and offline throughout the globe. EFactor helps entrepreneurs to build their business, to find funding, to network with other likeminded entrepreneurs and to get great deals & discounts.

Within EFactor Eva is focusing on the investment / finance pillar. We are keen to expand this area because we feel that there is an increasing need for both (informal) investors and entrepreneurs to connect. We help entrepreneurs finding capital both online but also through personal assistance. In addition, we launch our new website 16 September, which marks the beginning of a new era for EFactor. Maybe it is a good idea to focus a little bit on these two areas.

1.	What’s at the core of this model and mission and how did it come to be?
3.	Who is your target audience for this the change-the-world CEO idea?
4.	Why these leaders need our services (they are in the trenches and hitting the “wall” that must be scaled for further growth)
5.	What is the members-only forum?
6.	This model includes do-it-yourself online information, such as free lessons and informational video interviews and blogs, and also offerspaid online courses that go deeper on a particular topic, such as human resources or operational excellence.
7.	You offer one-on-one coaching, strategic retreats and virtual CSO positions. Talk us through, give us a sense of each of these activities and how they work.
8.	This is a menu-based approach so a CEO can find what they are looking for as they reach/enter each new stage of your business.

Jeff Zbar on Creating the Ideal Home Based Business

Our guest on this segment is a multifaceted talent-Jeff Zbar is a newspaper and online columnist; blogger, and chronicler of topics vital to entrepreneurs, teleworkers and home officers. He’s a small business expert, speaker, television guest, a columnist and contributing editor to Home Office Computing, Entrepreneur.com, Writer’s Digest and is the author of four books.

      <dc:subject>Entrepreneurship, New Thinking, Operations, Productivity</dc:subject>

Jeff Joins us from Fort Lauderdale, FL to share his insights on how companies and organizations can create effective teleworking and alternative officing programs. Here are some of the questions guiding our segment:

How did you get interested in the world of home office, teleworking and the like-wha’s your connection to all of this?

Give us a sense of the history of teleworking and telecommuting for companies and organizations-this is more than a trend-but a pretty well evolved alternative approach to productivity, right?

What are some of the key factors driving his movement-the desire for employees and workforce members to work at home rather than coming to an office?

What do you find that most companies or organizations misunderstand about teleworking and alternative officing and how it can serve them and their employees?

There’s a cliché that some people are wired to work at home and some are not. When is it NOT a good idea to set up an office at home?

For solo-prenuers, there are many executive offices across the country that furnish some of the common needs-receptionist, coffee, conference rooms, data connectivity and so forth. What has been your experience with entrepreneurs that choose this route?

OK, so I decide to set up a workspace at home-where do I start in terms of the physical set and flows, setting up communications and data, creating a professional environment for myself to be as productive as possible?

This is about integrating vocation and life in a new way. But, how do you suggest home based business entrepreneurs or employees manage the balance between the “family-chaos factor” and the work at hand?

There are some the tax implications of setting up a home-office. What are the key line items to be aware of?

Jeff’s Books include:

•	Teleworking & Telecommuting: Strategies for Remote Workers & Their Managers (Made E-Z Products, Inc., 2002);
•	Safe @ Home: Seven Keys to Home Office Security (FirstPublish),
•	Home Office Success Stories (Goin’ SOHO!, 1997),
•	Home Office Know-How (Upstart, 1998), and Your Profitable Home Business Made E-Z (on CD-ROM, from Made E-Z Products, Inc., 2000).

The Rules of Innovation with Robert Brands

Our guest on this edition says Innovation is the lifeblood of any company ,large or small. And it is not easy . It takes time, experience and lots of trial-and-error learning. Robert Brands is the entrepreneur and innovator behind the creation of Airspray.

As a result of the culture and process he created, Airspray grew to introduce at least one new product per year and surpassed its own expectations with two, three and even four major launches per year in the later years, clearly benefiting from the developed process and discipline. All this starting from a small Dutch dispensing Company in the Netherlands.

<dc:subject>Creativity & Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Green and Sustainable, Leadership, Management, Project Management, New Thinking, Technology</dc:subject>

Joining us on the line to tell us about how he created this vibrant culture of innovation at Airspray, and how he helps other entrepreneurs do it, is the author of the book, Roberts Rules of Innovation, (Wiley) is Robert Brands-Robert, welcome to the program….

1.	Why is sustained innovation really a matter of survival for a business? Why not simply create 1 product, do it well, grow sales, and be done with it!

2.	Take us back to an earlier time in your career—the story of Airspray. What did the beginnings look and feel like, and how do you take a small, Dutch dispensing company and grow it with a promise of new product innovations every year, ultimately shaping it into a large, multi-national public organization?

3.	Let’s walk some of the KEY through Robert’s Rules of Innovation-this is a guide with imperatives that you have created and applied through your own management journeys…
1.	Inspire, lead, and drive the process
2.	Manage risk, without letting fear of failure kill innovation
3.	Create a formalized New Product Development (NPD) process—an absolute must
4.	Convince others to work outside their comfort zone
5.	Build value for your Innovation
6.	Instill accountability-one of the most important of Robert’s Rules of Innovation
7.	Properly hire, train, and coach-to create, reinforce, and enhance your company’s culture and mindset
8.	Stay open to new ideas

All this starting from a small Dutch dispensing Company in the Netherlands.</itunes:summary><itunes:keywords>entrepreneur,efactor,business,networking,management,marketing,finance,investing,leadership,technology,social,media</itunes:keywords>

<feedburner:origEnclosureLink>http://media.libsyn.com/media/smallbiz/E-0018-Robert_Brands.mp3</feedburner:origEnclosureLink>
