trilogy by E.L. James consists of these 3 books (in order): Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed. If, for some reason, you have not heard about these books...don't worry. With 10 million copies sold in the past 6 weeks alone, I am quite sure the books are coming your way soon enough. Even better, just a few weeks ago, Universal Pictures bought the book rights so we can all expect a movie shortly.

These books are, basically, erotica. They are...
Myne Whitman (Nigerian author and blogger) also wrote a post about this, where she shared a quote from my post. So I went over to her blog to see what the comments would be like.

Most people seemed to agree that reversal proposals are not for them at least, but there was one comment in particular that made me think.

I won't spoil the story for you, since it was Oscar worthy *coughs* but it revolved around a woman who planned to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day. Apparently a man cannot refuse a proposal on Leap Day.

Nobody told this to Chrissy on Love & Hip Hop last year. Perhaps if she had properly scheduled her proposal it wouldn't have taken so much to get Jim Jones to actually say "YES" to marriage.

I just need to understand how the rest of you in similar situations deal with this.

Yes, yes, all of you have seen this blog post about "Folu" a woman who is marrying a man she is not in love with or even attracted to.

I debated whether or not to write a blog post in response because I can be a bit...what is the word..."brash" when it comes to sensitive issues like this.

I have little patience for women like Folu and only involve myself in an attempt to make sure I learn from their experiences and avoid repeating their mistakes.

There are people who CLEARLY should not be married and can end up doing more harm than good to each other when they stay together.

So, with my "open minded" view on divorce, I decided to watch this season of "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" (KAKTNY) to find out what happened between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

I tuned in every Sunday to watch the show so I could see what "irreconcilable differences" led to the end of their 72 day...
I am actually experiencing pity.

I have never felt sorry for Nigerians, even when I lived there. Really. I have been annoyed, irritated, flabbergasted, disgusted, laughed at things, but pity has never been part of the gamut of feelings till...
I blogged a lot less this year than last year, I just realized this looking at my archives. Only one post in November?! *hides head in shame*.

Thanks to everyone who read and commented here. Although, due to a mishap in June, I lost almost all my comments from August 2009 to June 2011, I am glad that you all visited and shared your thoughts over the year.

I hope 2012 is a good year for everyone and starts off great! I have things to look forward...
This came up when I discussed my future plans with someone from my old old job (not the one I left this summer). I was explaining my "plans" for the future and she basically told me to "adjust" my plans.

I will not get into how some people set low expectations for themselves and others, that is for another time.

As a person of generally average means, I cannot understand why "money" would not make me happier. Mind...
Perhaps over the weekend.

Who am I kidding? This weekend I probably won't have time, but I will try.

As some of you may have noticed, I have been a bit absent. Mostly because this whole moving thing has had some twists recently. Well, one twist.

Sidenote: Packing up your life for a move this huge is kind of a pain in the a**.

After I had...
I have spent the last few weeks investigating various moving related topics: neighborhoods, apartments in said neighborhoods, transportation options (since I won't have a car for a bit), furniture, places to buy furniture, prices for "stuff", even cable providers (found out my only choice is Comcast, so annoyed), etc.

At this point, I think its safe to say I know more about the northwest suburbs of Chicago...
But, the surprise turned to shock for many when they found out she was engaged to a "millionaire". Tells you a lot about Nigerian mentality, doesn't it?

The explanation of how this will work without my having to change jobs will come in another post at another time. I will know for sure about this possible move by December, but it looks like it will finally happen. So we were browsing a few apartments in...
I have discovered that I (legally at least) could claim South African citizenship if I really wanted.

This revelation, startling as it was, occurred over chin-chin making one fine day with my mother. It's amazing what can happen when the whole "mother-daughter" bonding thing happens.

Is this good news? YES. Does it change anything? For now, not really. Except I...
My issue with Beyonce's "woman power-ness" began with Irreplaceable. I will not lie and say that I didn't sing the song very loudly and out of tune, when it was released. I did. But in the back of my mind...
I have evidence to prove this.

Clearly, I use Blogspot for this blog (which is a Google product in case you did not already know)/

Next, I use Gmail for all my mail both for the blog and my personal email address.

My mobile phone is an Android.

I run blog ads with Google Adsense.

Even as I type this up I'm using Google Chrome.

I think it is safe to say that I haven't met a Google product that I didn't...
