Unsurprisingly, producers feasted on it like some sweet-tuned Sunday roast but most were inadequate musings that lacked seasoning. That is until Dutch curators, Full Crate & FS Green, spilled their own rehash. Mellow (heart)strings for your midweek.

Aren’t collaborations a great thing? When me and my mum come together in the kitchen, we cook up a curry goat and rice to rival the Caribbean gods themselves. I play culinary elite in this relationship, obviously. Now, this match of Poland’s Chloe Martini and Austrian, Milo Mills, is more of a European delicacy. I’m not too well versed on my Pierogi or my Tafelspitz but ‘Falling In Love’ is impeccably quenching. Masked in a slowed garage camouflage, it cruises through its five minute duration with moisturise-smooth pads and strung out vocals. I can’t quite afford a drop top, but I can imagine cruising along South Beach in my imaginary caddy, bobbing my head to this. Don’t take my word for it though, give it a test drive.

‘Falling In Love’ is just a snippet of the pair’s unnamed joint EP. We’ll keep you updated of course.

If Beyonce has ever caused a headline because of her curvaceous bosom, then this rework of ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ has the equivalent of bootay for days. Sidechained, fuzzy synths smooch up within French kissing distance of Bey’s spaced out vocal patterings that filter passively throughout.

The arrangement comes from Stwo; a 20-year-old beat merchant from Paris who randomly popped up on our Soundcloud radar.

Project Maldonado has crept out of some shadowy crevice seeping ethereal R&B from its every pore. The sound of one of my favourite vocalists, Liam Bailey melds a beautifully cloudy tone atop beats probably most welcomed on a London night bus journey, post-party. Throughout his twilight run, he trounces through the voodoo darkness of ‘Rebel’ and brash sensuality of ‘Confessions’ where he doesn’t need to know your name to get ‘fucked with you’. Off of public transport, ‘Seraphim’ conjures up memories of those nocturnal stumbles home with just headphones and the whirs of drugged up police sirens as company.

Someone give me a chewing-gummed seat at the back of the N8.

Currently going through one of those ‘whatcha call it garage?’ moments. Numbers released Rustie‘s Slasher/Triadzz EP yesterday and what an untameable beast it is. Triadzz teeters on the edges of trap, flirts with dance floor bangerism and wallows in hip-hop and we can’t get enough.

Ciara and her body-popping self once had quite a stronghold on the R&B scene. How could we forget the Austin native’s crunk-inspired take on R&B during the mid-2000s? What we would do for a moment of ‘Goodies’ watching Ciara wrangle herself to Jazze Pha’s whiny, 808 hip-hop. Welsh pair, Bodhi, take one of her later creations that featured JT during his electro pop phase. ‘Love Sex Magic’ gets converted to a jumpy twostepper, perfect for shaking off that weekend laze/hangover. It’s Monday, let’s go.

‘Puddle’ has a habit of sounding like an electric shock if it could have a rhythm. Glitchy sounds o’er the almighty funk of slap bass didn’t ever quite match up in our heads. That is before Osaka-born, Fujimoto Tetsuro married them up in a fashion unbeknown to us. It’s a groovy juxtaposition.

Oh, the glory days of grime. When riddims were made using Playstations, MSN noises (shouts out to Shizzle) and any other polyphonic sounding device within touching distance. It’s been a long time since Dizzee Rascal was barking out absonant screams of ‘stop dat, start dat’ atop similarly atonal instrumentals. Dizzee, why are you so bonkers now? Nevertheless, grime has had a mini phoenix-type resurgence in the last few years and the beats are as rudimentary as ever. Just as we like it. I tripped across Lemzly Dale this morning and ‘Warrior’ is about as gruff as it gets. Jittery drums overlaid by pincer sharp, staccato strings are just what the grime surgeon would order. Along with a resuscitation to the pulmonary artery of most MCs. Just kidding (not really).
