We are pleased to announce the opening of the official Egress UK online store.

This gives you the option to buy and preview all releases directly from us (although we will still continue to distribute to all the other major online stores).

We here at Egress UK are actively seeking artists so if you are interested in working with us then please send us your demos.

We are based in King's Lynn, Norfolk but the label is open to anyone, anywhere.

Submissions are welcome from bands and/or solo artists. All genres of music will be considered, especially lo-fi, electronica, experimental, post rock, etc. but please no more "punk pop" in the style of Green Day, et al.

Egress UK Update

Thought I'd just post a quick update on some of the things happening here at Egress.
Everything is going well for the launch of the new Distant Guns EP "The Invisible Observer", this gets its official release on Monday 2nd August and has already received favourable reviews and BBC radio airplay.
The release of the EP also coincides nicely with the addition of two new Digital outlets for the Egress catalogue. Juno is one of the biggest UK online stores and has the added bonus of giving you a choice of MP3 bitrates or even CD quality lossless downloads, something that I hope to see more stores offer in the future. We have also finally managed to get our releases onto Spotify so there's no excuse to not add them to your playlists now.

The French creative agency Superbien came up with the installation you can see in the video below in order to promote the Telecoms company Alcatel-Lucent. But who cares why it was created....it is absolutely fantastic, no idea how they achieved it (guess it's projection based rather than self-illuminated) but it's for real not a CGI mock up...I can't wait to see this technology start to appear all over the place...absolutely mesmerising...

Insects Vs Sinister Fairies

I've just discovered the work of Artist Tessa Farmer.
She depicts a world where tiny, sinister, skeletal fairies are at battle with our world.
They battle with insects and collectively take down bigger prey like Hedgehogs, Rats and Snakes.
It's fascinating, atmospheric and disturbing stuff invoking feelings of childhood nightmares and evil lurking just out of sight.
I've become an instant fan of her work and hope I get the chance to check some out in person soon.

GAS Strikes Again!! (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome)

I only sold my Fender '62 American Reissue Jaguar a couple of weeks ago (some pics here and here) but I've already fallen in love with this new release from Gibson.
The 50th Anniversary 1960 ES-335TD is a thing of absolute beauty.
This Gibson Custom Shop reissue is based on the late 1960 version of the 335 which many consider to be the best version of this iconic guitar ever made.
Looks like the Custom Shop are really pushing the boat out on this model with a choice of three finishes and with period correct hardware including a pair of PAF-style 57 Classic humbucking pickups.
I've always wanted to own a genuine Gibson 335 and this looks like the one to get....if it wasn't for one thing....you've guessed it, the price!
Prices start at $5,645 and rise to $6,115 depending on the finish.
