spotting for a while

delayed menstruation

I have been on the pill for many years now. I was late on 1 pill (the eighth pill in the pack), and made it up, two days later I was late on another pill. my period is due this coming up Sunday/Monday. but I have been lightly spotting on and off the past 3 days.
