AptHost Communications, web hosting provider of of shared, reseller, VPS and dedicated hosting services, has launched its new website.

From its inception in 2001, AptHost has been providing the web hosting market with quality hosting services to meet the needs of individuals and small businesses. In early 2006, AptHost found its niche in the social media market by providing web hosting services to individuals with social media and video sharing related websites.

Cody McLain, President of AptHost explained, ”The launch of our new website is a landmark achievement for us as we continue to grow rapidly in the hosting community. Our new website is the first step as we begin to increase advertising and improve our internal infrastructure which will ultimately allow us to serve more clients and keep our existing clients happy.”

AptHost plans to focus on rapid development in the upcoming months with plans to open a new office in Bellevue, WA and a planned increase of US based employees to support an influx of new customers. Recently AptHost moved all of its shared, reseller and vps hosting servers to ThePlanet.com after forming an exclusive partnership. The move has increased AptHost’s reliability and uptime with the cooperation of ThePlanet Internet Services.

Mr. McLain added, ”Since the company was recently acquired by RSDV, myself and our new management team has been focusing on providing the highest quality of hosting services and with the improvements we plan to implement before the end of the year, I believe we can become known as one of the highest quality Hosting providers on the market.”

With the addition of AptHost’s new website, customers can enter in coupon code “SUMMER” which will give 25% off any initial order, no matter what billing cycle is selected.

Founded in 2001, AptHost.com started its enterprise on the web in early 2003. Since then, AptHost.com has been a provider of Linux-based web hosting services for Personal, Small, and Medium Sized businesses. AptHost is owned by RSDV.

Founded in 2004, Rancho is a US Public Company with ticker symbol RSDV. RSDV is a diversified development company based in Madera, CA.

European business hosting provider based in Amsterdam, LeaseWeb, has increased the bandwidth capacity of its hosting network from 500 to 750 Gigabits per second, in a six-month period.
A large increase in new clients, and especially the increased use of videos on websites, are key drivers behind the strong growth in Internet traffic.

LeaseWeb’s clients use LeaseWeb’s hosting network as well as, among other things, its servers and network equipment in a data center to enable people to visit their websites. This Internet traffic has increased tremendously. LeaseWeb’s network, which includes fiber-optic links and four data centers in the Amsterdam region, extends across the world via telecom carriers and Internet exchanges.

Con Zwinkels, managing director of LeaseWeb explained, ”We have recently seen a strong increased in the use of streaming video in Web environments. Video is a key factor in the growth of Internet traffic handled by our network. In addition, we’re seeing a continuous flow of new clients from the Netherlands, but particularly from other countries, who have come to appreciate LeaseWeb’s qualities and competitive price-quality ratio. To give you an idea, we are currently managing approximately 22,000 servers and we’re adding about 300 servers each month. This growth is significant.”

The network capacity of 750 Gbps is twice the amount of bandwidth that clients actually use. The actual amount of Internet traffic is currently about 375 Gbps. The web page at http://noc.Leaseeb.com has a graph showing the latest developments in LeaseWeb’s daily Internet traffic.

Mr. Zwinkels added, ”Maintaining ample bandwidth is a conscious choice. Our double bandwidth capacity is one of the main reasons why companies with rapidly expanding web environments choose LeaseWeb. Exactly one year ago, LeaseWeb’s hosting network bandwidth capacity was 210 Gbps. That was already significant, certainly compared to the capacity offered by the average hosting provider in the Netherlands. I would not have predicted that we would reach 750 Gbps this soon.”

Bulk users of bandwidth within LeaseWeb’s network include the websites of 123Video (www.123video.nl), Garage TV of Belgium (www.gargetv.be), product comparison site Twenga (www.twenga.com), the German broadcasting company WIGE Media AG (www.wige.de), Turkish media giant (www.haber7.com), and the websites from Turkish companies like Akilli.tv, Turkticaret.net, Tescilet.net-Kurtlarvadisi.com, Internethaber.com, and Super Muzik.

LeaseWeb is an international provider of hosting solutions that is primarily geared towards the professional market. The company is among the top-20 hosting providers worldwide and its services include server virtualization, dedicated servers, collocation, streaming, web hosting, and domain name registration. LeaseWeb is the proprietor of a first-class network that offers a bandwidth of more than 750 Gbps, spanning four data centers in the Amsterdam region via major telecom carriers. LeaseWeb is also present via Internet exchanges in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Frankfurt, New York, Vienna, Stockholm, Warsaw, Zurich, Prague and Madrid. This way, LeaseWeb enables companies around the world to create and continue their online presence in a simple and affordable manner. Since its founding in 1997, hosting provider LeaseWeb has expanded its network to include more than 22,000 servers. LeaseWeb’s clients include Royal Joh. Ensched, OGD, 123Video, Jaap.nl, Relatieplanet, MijnAlbum, Starbucks, Hyves, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Twenga, Direct Wonen, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, and Unive.

Web hosting provider, iWeb, anticipates that its recent acquisition of Montreal-based managed hosting provider, Netsimplify, will allow iWeb to provide its own brand of managed hosting services.

Eric Chouinard, President and CEO of iWeb remarked, ”Customers face an increasing complexity in managing their IT infrastructure, and many of our dedicated hosting customers have requested that iWeb provide additional services. Netsimplify’s customer-driven approach brings a lot of experience, expertise and depth, all of which are important aspects of iWeb’s services.”

Simon Boulet will be appointed to the newly created position of IT Manager, from which he will spearhead internal development initiatives.

Martin Leclair, co-founder and President of Products and Technology added, ”This is a logical step towards both cloud computing and managed services. It is also a homecoming of sorts; Netsimplify’s founder, Simon Boulet, was one of iWeb’s first employees before he left to start his own company nearly three years ago - Welcome back Simon.”

Cyrille Mertes, Vice-President of IT and Infrastructure remarked, ”We looked at a number of companies and individuals, and Simon was naturally at the top of the list of potential candidates. In the medium-term, Simon and the entire infrastructure team will integrate cloud computing and automation into iWeb’s service offering.”

The transfer of Netsimplify’s customers to iWeb is almost complete, a task made easier by the fact that Netsimplify’s infrastructure was mostly colocated within iWeb’s data centers. Financial details regarding the transaction were not disclosed.

iWeb is a worldwide provider of Internet hosting services and IT Infrastructure, with three secure data centers in Montreal. Since 2004, the company’s compounded annual growth rate has been above 75%, making it one of Canada’s 100 fastest growing companies according to PROFIT Magazine.

Founded in 1996 in Montreal, iWeb now generates more than 60% of its revenues from abroad and employs over 170 full-time employees. Providing Dedicated Server Hosting, Co-location and Web Hosting services to more than 20,000 customers in 150 countries.

The blogsite live.gdgt.com, a Rackspace Cloud hosting customer integrating both Cloud Sites and Cloud Files products, through live coverage and blogging of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2009, handled 4.7 million web page views in less than two hours recently.

Ryan Block, co-founder of live.gdgt.com remarked, ”Scaling an infamously well-trafficked event like Apple’s WWDC has always been a major challenge, often requiring a large IT staff and massive infrastructure at multiple data centers. The Rackspace Cloud has enabled us to iterate and scale our live coverage beta quickly, and without us having to make a major investment in hardware or operations.”

The much-anticipated keynote was the highlight of the sold-out WWDC 2009. During the keynote, Apple announced among other notable technologies, a new feature-rich and fast iPhone 3G S, a $99 version of the iPhone, and new Macbook Pro products.

Representing a real world demonstration of the power and value of cloud computing, Ryan Block, live.gdgt.com co-founder and editor, was able to provide live coverage of the keynote event over his site using Cloud Sites. He and his photographer were also able to simultaneously capture and upload photos in real time to Cloud Files which auto-integrates into the site.

These activities took place while serving an average of 656 page views per second to live.gdgt.com viewers around the world at a minimum of cost and hassle.

Mr. Block added, ”Perhaps most importantly, though, Rackspace’s support staff went above and beyond to help us prepare for the event. Their input and attentiveness to maintaining our uptime - even despite unbelievable load - sets them apart.”

Cloud Sites retails at $100 per month and Cloud Files is based on a pay-as-you-go model starting at $.015 per gigabyte of data. Cloud Files also allows customers the option to serve content files using Limelight Networks, a top tier content delivery network (CDN) in real time without any extra effort and only paying for what is used.

Customers also receive 24/7 Fanatical Support for questions or concerns about their hosting needs at no extra cost.

The estimated cost difference between ”do-it-yourself” hosting from scratch vs. deploying Cloud Sites and Cloud Files using this type of an event as a barometer provides a clear example of the cost benefit of cloud computing. Physical space, hardware, software, and administration costs for a unique datacenter capable of handling this type of load and traffic could cost tens of thousands of dollars, while using Cloud Sites and Cloud Files is likely to cost just a few hundred dollars.

Emil Sayegh, general manager of The Rackspace Cloud offered, ”Ryan and his team did a great job of integrating our Cloud Sites product for his application and our Cloud Files content delivery network to deliver an amazing live-blogging experience. We were really happy to remove the scaling burden for him so he could focus on his real-time reporting. You don’t have to be Nostradamus anymore and predict what your datacenter needs are going to be during peak periods using Cloud Sites when you can simply code, load and watch it scale.”

Through its suite of cloud solutions, Cloud Sites, Cloud Files and Cloud Servers, The Rackspace Cloud enables astute developers and IT managers to minimize the hassles, upfront investments and high costs associated with dedicated hardware while offering the ability to easily scale hosting resources.

General registration - also known as Landrush - starts Sept. 1 on a first come, first served basis. For more information on .MX and other ccTLDS available through GoDaddy.com, click here.
