Exciting news is coming your way {and mine}.  Twentieth Century Fox and MGM Home Entertainment are releasing some all-time favorite classic movies on September 7th! For as long as I can remember, I have been meaning to watch those old classic movies  - most of them came out before I was even born.  Not only do I feel like I should watch these classics, I want to.  I want to gather my family and watch these classics together, and be taken back to a different point in time.

Moby Dick on DVD

Moby Dick (1956):

Battling a mutinous crew, tropical heat and violent storms, Ahab finally catches up to his quarry and begins a confrontation that culminates in an epic struggle of non-stop fury…and inevitable doom.

Richard III (1995):
As the newly installed King Edward (John Wood) takes the reins of power, his ruthless brother Richard (Ian McKellen) sets in motion a monstrous scheme to claim the crown for himself. Richard embarks on a merciless, single-minded campaign of betrayal, seduction and cold-blooded murder to achieve the goal that has obsessed him all of his tortured life: to be king…at any price.

The Grapes of Wrath (1940)
After serving four years in prison, hotheaded Tom Joad (Henry Fonda) heads back to the family farm in Oklahoma. On his way he meets Casy (John Carradine), a former preacher who has lost his faith. The pair find the farm deserted; Tom’s family was evicted. Tom is reunited with his family at his uncle’s farm, only to discover the family must also leave that farm the next day. The family heads to California to look for work; however, their peregrination and experiences in California are not as promising as the Golden State originally seemed.

I cannot wait to see these three.  After I see these, I just know I will be heading to the store to get the rest of the collection!

SCENTSY PLUG-IN WARMERS AND SCENT BARS

I really enjoy scented candles, but sometimes don’t enjoy the messes they can make. My son is a perfect example – he loves candles too {don’t ask me}, but many times he uses pillars on a plate and they make a big, huge mess as the wax spills all over everything.  I have been hearing about Scentsy warmers for a couple of years now, but I haven’t had the pleasure of owning my own until recently! I am absolutely thrilled with the Sand Dollar Scentsy Warmer that I received to review. I can’t help but think how convenient Scentsy warmers would have been when my son headed to college a couple of years ago, and was living in a dorm. Most dorms do not allow actual candles {and understandably so}, but college students still want their dorms to smell nice, or even smell like home. They are incredibly easy to use – just attach the bottom part {with the light bulb} to the actual warmer, add your scent bar of choice, plug in the wall and that’s it! I was surprised how long each bar lasts. One night I added another scent bar to the warmer, and it overflowed. It was my own fault for doing this in the dark, but I just figured that the bars I put in initially would be long gone by then. Boy was I wrong!

I really do love Scentsy warmers {and also their scented travel tins} that I reviewed.  I am astounded by their huge collection of styles and colors – there is certainly a Scentsy warmer for every type of decor.  I have one in my kitchen, and one in my living room and can I just say that my house smells heavenly?  Another advantage to warmers over candles is that there is no soot, smoke or flame.  There is also no need to search the house for a lighter.  It’s hard to believe that a small light bulb is what melts the scent bars.  I do recommend plugging these in a high outlet  if you have small children – the wax does get hot!

The scent bars that I reviewed {and still have plenty of} are:   Green Tea Smoothie, French Lavender and Cinnamon Vanilla.  All three smell so good.  They are pleasant, fresh and most importantly, they are not overpowering.  Scentsy also has scent bars in several collections {including holiday collections and more}:  Tropical, Spring & Summer, Spa, Bakery Romance, and Cafe.

Between my daughter and myself, we go through quite a few blow dryers. They either stop working after a few months, or what often happens, is my daughter pilfers mine and then it typically gets lost in the great abyss we call her room. I am left without a blow-dryer, and I am also left with a pretty poor disposition. I was so excited when I was contacted to review the Infiniti Pro by Conair. Not only did I need a new blow dryer, but I needed one with lots of power {insert Tim Allen roh roh roh here}.

The Infiniti Pro by Conair 1875-Watt Salon-Performance blow-dryer is not only powerful, but it is super sexy! I think I have fallen in love. It is quiet, yet has powerful air velocity to dry hair faster and lessen heat exposure/damage. It has a true blast of cold air when “Cold Shot” button is engaged, to better set your style or provide lift at the roots, and another plus – It lasts up to a 3x longer life span as compared to typical (DC motor) hair dryers! This is music to my ears, because as I mentioned above, we go through many blow dryers.

Isn’t she gorgeous? Well, yes the model too, but I am talking about the Infiniti Pro. It is so sleek, modern and super lightweight {which is surprising, since it’s so powerful and all!}. I have been using this for a couple of weeks, and I really am swept away with it. It comes with two attachments which enables me to be creative with my hair, for the look I want.

One of my favorite features is the removable filter. The Infiniti Pro by Conair is the first blow dryer I have ever owned that has this. With my previous blow dryers, I would notice the air getting really hot, and I knew the filter was clogged with dust, hair, and whatever else. I literally used tweezers to pull off the gunk that had accumulated on the filter, and it was incredibly time consuming. With the InfinitiPro by Conair, I was able to just remove the filter, rinse it, dry it and put it back on!

In addition to the AC motor benefits the Infiniti Pro dryer also generates neutralizing ions to seal the hair cuticle, reducing frizz and enhancing shine. The Step into Summer event is officially ending. We had a blast bring you the latest and greatest must-have products for summer. For the last day of Step into Summer, I wanted to tell you about something really special, that you can actually use year round! The Prodyne Fruit Infusion Pitcher is a genius idea, and I am in love with this product.

The idea is simple:

Crystal clear acrylic pitcher has removable fruit infusion rod that screws into lid. Fill the rod with lemons, limes, raspberries ect. Pitcher can be continually filled without having to replace the fruit. 2.5qt capacity with tube.

When I received my pitcher, I could not wait to try it. I had lemons on hand {plus I love lemon water – so refreshing}, so I decided to make a fresh pitcher of lemon flavored water. There are several fruity waters available at the stores, but many taste artificial to me, so I was so happy to have fresh fruit water {and at only a fraction of the cost of store bought flavored waters!}. I also know that there are no added sweeteners.

There are three parts to the pitcher, and it is super easy to disassemble when it’s time to add fruit. I simply unscrewed the lid, and pulled out the tube. The tube has small openings for the fruit flavor to blend with the water. I cut a few lemons in quarters and inserted them in the tube, I filled the pitcher with filtered water from our refrigerator, and then put the tube into the pitcher and screwed the lid back on. It couldn’t be easier! Another nice thing is that when the water level gets low, you can just add more water. There is no need to add new fruit in each pitcher you make. It is recommended that you replace with fresh fruit every 7 to 10 days.

I kept the pitcher in the refrigerator, and it was so handy to just pull it out to grab a fresh, cold glass of lemon water whenever I wanted it. My family was enjoying it as much as I did and we are excited to try other fruits in the pitcher as well. I have also noticed that we are all drinking more water than we did previously – an added bonus! The sky is really the limit on what kind of flavored fruit water you want to have. One thing I really want to try is iced tea! I can make flavored iced teas just as easily as I made the water, and it will be fun to create my own favorites.

The pitcher is lightweight, but looks elegant. I am looking forward to the next get together in our home, so I can show off this gem, and introduce my friends to the Prodyne Fruit Infusion Pitcher!
