He is an honours marketing graduate and has worked in digital and social media marketing for 12 years. He is the current Chair of the Irish Internet Association's 'Social Media Working Group', which has the objective of promoting social media best practice in Ireland.

Our guests were Damien Mulley, blogger, copywriter and trainer, and Roseanne Smith, the Membership, Marketing and Communications Manager for the Irish Internet Association.

Damien Mulley owns Cork based Mulley Communications and teaches organisations and enterprises how to communicate amongst themselves and with the greater world. He is also the organiser of the Irish Blog Awards and Irish Web Awards, wrote a regular technology column for the Sunday Tribune and is the former chairman of broadband lobby group IrelandOffline. Damien regularly trains people and organisations in PR, media training, Blog Training, Internet Marketing and presentation skills.

Roseanne Smith has an M.Sc. in Multimedia Systems from Trinity College Dublin. She joined the IIA in April 2008. Prior to the IIA she worked in localisation, television and radio production and most recently in the Community and Voluntary sector managing Information and Communications projects. Roseanne, a blogger since 2003, is an active participant in the IIA's Social Media Working Group and is an avid blogger and microblogger in both business and personal capacities.

In this podcast we talked to two experts in the field of website analytics: what is it, why you should use it, what it can do for your business. Our guests were Martin Murray, Chief Executive for Interactive Return and Brian Donohue, Senior Analyst with iQ Content.

Martin has led Interactive Return since 1999. His background is as an electronic engineer, working in Ireland, the UK, Middle East and Japan for companies such as Eircom and Ericsson. He's a former Director of the Irish Internet Association and is regularly asked to speak at industry events on issues surrounding online marketing.

Brian is a usability expert with over six years experience working with web technologies. Brian heads up iQ Content's web analytics services, and has helped numerous organisations, such as Vodafone, Dublin City Council, and ESB to use web analytics to effectively measure online activity, improve website performance and increase conversions. In 2005 he designed and delivered Ireland's first dedicated web analytics training course as part of iQ Content's Boot Camp training event. In 2007, based largely on Brian and his team's expertise, iQ Content was selected as Ireland's first certified Google Analytics partner.

Gareth joined Tibus in 1997 as a Web Programmer, progressing to Senior Programmer, Director of Software Development and subsequently Managing Director. Mike is a Director in Ernst & Young's Risk Advisory Services practice, specialising in Financial Services. He currently leads a team providing information security, IT audit and IT advisory services to clients in Ireland and internationally. He has particular expertise in the financial services sector and has acted as information security manager for a large UK financial institution and Head of IT Security for a large Irish Bank. Previously he worked in the telecoms industry.

Meanwhile, Brian has over 20 years experience working in information security having worked with numerous companies in the private and government sectors, in Ireland and Europe. He has also provided advice to the European Commission on information security and has been published in a number of industry publications. Brian is currently the European editor for the SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute's SANS NewsBites, a semi-weekly electronic newsletter.
