If you go on a hike with us you will receive a new insight into the Caribbean. You are accompanied by experts and locals who can provide information about almost everything in nature. You will get a new perspective for the beauty and the mysterious interplay of tropical vegetation.

El Cabito Tours offers several hikes. According to your wishes, we put together an individual program tailored to your physical abilities. From a tropical walk up to the Caribbean mountain tour with mountaineering in various degrees of difficulty.

Hiking Tours

1. Playa Madama: 1 hr of hiking to the beach, inspection of a cave, snorkeling, snack, walk back to El Cabito.
   Duration approx. 4-5 hours.
2. La Guazuma: 2 hrs of hiking to a small village, visit a fruit and vegetables garden, watch a local baseball game on special days, snack or lunch, walk back to El Cabito.
   Duration approx. 6 hours
3. Cabo Samana: 2 hrs of hiking to a Finca in Fronton Mountain, snack, whalewatching in season, visit of caves if desired, walk back to El Cabito. Duration min. 6 hours
4. Playa Fronton: 2.5 hrs of hiking to Playa Fronton, cave inspection, lunch on the beach, snorkeling, boat transfer to Las Galeras. Duration min. 6 hours
5. Playa Rincon: 2,5 hrs of hiking to the Playa Rincon, lunch, swimming and beach, walk or boat trip back.
   Duration approx. 7 hours
6. Eco-Projects: Combination tour – walking, boat trip or minibus
   Visiting organic farms and eco-projects in the area

El Cabito local tours and points of interest

1. Playa Fronton 1: Combination tour – drive, walking, boat trip
   Transfer to the Boca de Diabolo by car, 1 hr of walking to the beach, cave inspection, snorkels, boat transfer back to Las Galeras.

2. Playa Fronton 2: Combination tour – walking, boat trip
   2.5 hrs of wandering to Playa Fronton, cave inspection, lunch on the beach, snorkeling, boat transfer to Las Galeras.

3. Playa Fronton 3: Boat tour
   Boat transfer to Playa Fronton, cave inspection, lunch on the beach, snorkeling, boat transfer back to Las Galeras.

4. Cabo Samana cave tour: Combination tour – horseback riding and walking tour
   Inspection of the extensive cave scenery of Cabo Samana.
   Duration min. 6 hours
   (For particularly adventurous, there is the possibility to spend the night in a cave with a view of the bay of Samana at approx. 300 feet high).
5. La Guazuma: Combination tour – horseback riding or walking tour
   1 hr horseback ride or 2 hrs of walking to a village in the countryside, inspection of an orchard and vegetable garden, snack, ride or walk back.

6. Loma and Playa Rincon: Jeep tour
   Loma Rincon – a unique mountain landscape, visit a small village, stop at the dreamlike Playa Rincon for a bath in the river and sea, meal in a typical local restaurant, ride back to Las Galeras.

Do you want to experience the unique scenery of Samana in a small group or in the circle of friends individually?

You have 6 hours time for your shore leave to Samana.
We pick you up in Santa Barbara, let you experience a unique day far from the beaten tourist track and bring you back in time.
You can enjoy the beaches and have a snack or have lunch at El Cabito and watch the whales in the season from the terrace of the restaurant. Various other arrangements can be made according to your wishes.
