Electric Fondue Pot - Comparison

It is very hard to pick a top ranking electric fondue pot, and to be honest we don’t feel there is much between our 1st and 2nd ranked fondue sets. We have taken into account the number of reviews for each product, the average star rating and the price, and on this basis the Cuisinart CFO-3SS just very slightly outranks the Rival FD350S. We also liked the fact that the Cuisinart has a longer guarantee period, and that you are able to put the parts into a dishwasher – much better than washing by hand each time you use it.

Number 3 goes to the Trudeau 0823004 Electric 3-in-1. This is another great electric fondue set with many happy users. One reason it is 3rd and not higher is the fact that it only comes with 6 forks rather than the 8 provided with the top two models. This is however a well priced fondue set and well worth a look.

The OSTER FPSTFN7700-022 takes our 4th place. This is in part due to the fact that is has much fewer reviews than the top three in our comparision chart. This model is also dishwasher safe which is a great plus.

Fifth place goes to the West Bend 88533, again this is more because it has a lower average star rating of 3.5. On going through the reviews many people do in fact give 4 – 5 stars, but some are only awarding a much lower rating. One stated reason is that chocolate is not so easy to use in this fondue set as it heats very quickly. So if you are looking for a purely savoury fondue pot then this could well be for you – at the moment this has a 25% discount.

You will see that we have also included a chocolate fondue set, although as it is purely for chocolate we are not able to rank it so high. Lots of people only want a fondue set for dipping marshmallows etc into lovely melted white or dark chocolate, so if this is you, the Nostalgia Electrics CFF-986 3 tier Chocolate Fountain would be a great choice. As you can see this fountain will deal with 3lbs of melted chocolate and it has really good reviews from those that are using it.

Rounding up our comparison chart is the Swissmar AlpenGlow with an average star rating of 3.5 and only a small number of reviews (7). The bulb does give a unique flickering effect so it looks more like the older style fondue sets heated by a flame. Partly this came out 6th because it is more expensive than the others, although at the moment it is on offer with a 15% discount, so the price does not seem such a difference.

The 18/10 stainless steel pot has a capacity of 56 ounces and has a mirror finish – this pot then sits securely on the warming base, with its non stick warming plate.  The temperature of the fondue is easy to control with the variable temperature control located on the front of the warming plate with a built in light letting you know whether it’s on or off.

The bowl is stainless steel and is lined with a special non-stick coating to stop the hot foods from sticking, and has a 3 quart capacity.
