So this week, we’ve interviewed with dear Randy in Istanbul, just after his show! – Here you can read while listening his amazing set.

1. Okay! First things first! Turkey, first thoughts and is it the first time here?

Turkey exceeded my expectations, what an incredible country full of beautiful history, culture and food. It‘s an incredible place, and my one regret is that I only had a few days to enjoy it. I can’t wait to come back soon, and stay for longer.

2. How about family Randy, what does it take to make? Being a Musician, touring the world!

Family is the most important, and I always make time to be with them. My mom travels with me often and enjoys being at the shows, experiencing the tour life. It’s important to have balance, and to keep those close who truly support you is a big part of that.

3. What are main challenges then as a touring musician?

Lack of sleep can be tough, but I always try to keep it in perspective and count my blessings. Also, often you can’t spend as much time in one place that you’d like.

[soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/randy-seidman/randy-seidman-on-ibiza-sonica[/soundcloud]

4.What is the interesting part?

Food. The main thing I love about traveling is eating authentic food.

5. What makes you decide to play “that” song in your sets? What’s the criteria?

Well, I edit just about 100% of the songs I play, so I try to make unique versions of tracks that keep the journey going. In a typical 2 hour set, I play around 40 songs. Sound quality of a song is important, but so is the idea itself, often times, if I really like a song but it doesn’t have the right punch for a dance floor, I’ll put it in my radio show, so that the song doesn’t just collect dust sitting in a folder.

I love sexy downtempo music.
Electronica.FM : Hell, Yeah!

6. We loved your Downtempo set! Can you tell us more about producing on Chill Out?

I love sexy downtempo music. It can be emotional, meditative, contemplative, melodic, and nostalgic. It can evoke memories, and can bring about immense intimacy. For me, it’s a wonderful artistic balance. I try to record one downtempo set a year, whether it’s recorded live at a place like Lush Sunset Club in Borneo (overlooking the South China Sea), or for special radio brands such as Ibiza Sonica. My productions have hit *1 on Beatport’s top 100 chillout chart, and I’ve made a downtempo remix of Infected Mushroom’s ‘Nutmeg’, which has tens of thousands of plays on SoundCloud.

7. Festivals? Which is your favorite one, we know that you are a Burner.

Haha! I’ve been fortunate enough to play Burning Man twice. There are many amazing festivals I’ve experienced such as EDC, and Coachella. My favorite festival is one that’s near to my heart, which is Full Moon in Thailand. Specifically, the Jungle Experience. I’ve played there something like 17 times in the last 7 years. 5,000 party animals going crazy for underground house & techno on the island of Koh Phangan. Great vibes.

[soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/randy-seidman/open-house-126-wrandy-seidman-sunset-at-lush-in-borneo-chillout-mix-v-xavier-fux[/soundcloud]

8. What is one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you hear it?

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody

9. Your favorite online music store? and suggestions.

Beatport & Traxsource work well for me.

10. And Infected Mushroom, as we know you are working with them from 2007!

Yes! I’ve been fortunate to work with Infected for nearly 12 years. We are like brothers and they’ve seen me grow up. They have been very generous throughout the years, allowing me to warm up for them around the world, and letting me do my own shows/tours. It’s a dream come true, and we operate like a well-oiled machine.

11. What advice or tips would you give a new-beginner deejay?

Find mentors, and ask them questions, learn by watching & listening to DJs you admire. Dive into the hunt for music beyond just the charts. This will enable you to constantly discover new producers which is integral the shaping your “sound”. Never stop. Even when it’s discouraging or overwhelming… just keep going. The only way your dreams won’t come true is if you give up. Remember first and foremost this is a passion. Don’t do it because you want to travel and be a rockstar. Do it because you love the music.

12. What is next for Randy Seidman? We are following Open House Podcast!

Open House has been a labor of love for around 9 years. It’s now syndicated on around 50 stations around the world, and has been downloaded nearly half a million times. Besides continuing the radio show, I’m going to spend much of the next few months in the studio working on new music, and planning the next adventure. I played Ministry of Sound in London this past month, so that felt like a nice accomplishment. Want to keep the momentum going throughout the rest of 2019.

1. How did you get into DJing?

Almost 20 years ago I moved to London to study media. I was fascinated
by the club scene, the variety of electronic music and it”s unique way
of getting people together. Most of my friendships seeded in these
environments. Sharing a house with DJs and having technic decks in our
front room encourage me to buying records and DJing as a hobby. Soon I
realise what I loved the most about to scene was sharing the music I
love to generate positive energy which brought people together. I had
to play for people !

2. Who were some of your influences?

As a DJ it has been very long time and too many different genres but
as a producer, I can tell I have truly inspired from Perfect Stranger
and his unique ability to create his own genre. He doesn”t fit in any
box, which I like to do with my music. I must mention Astrix and
Neelix for their long going respectful career. They don”t seem to ran
out of ideas for sure.

3. Do you prefer DJing or producing songs?

DJing is my first love but nothing beats test ridding one of my tracks
and crowd takes off! Winters are great for producing as it is cold and
wet and I feel very cosy in my studio. Summer is all about DJing at
festivals and inspiration which dictates what I will be producing
winter coming.

4. What advice or tips would you give a new-beginner deejay?

Practice, practice, practice. Lift your head up and read the crowd.
Make sure you are enjoying your self as if you are not having fun you
can not aspect them to do so. Be a fun maker.

5. What casino online is the best and worst part of life as a deejay?

Best thing is when you connect with the crowd, you are loving it,
they are loving it. I call this magical moments. It doesn”t happen al
the time but when it does happen it makes you feel the luckiest person
on earth. Worst thing can be having a technical problem during your
set and music stops. These few seconds of silence feels like a life
time..

6. What is the best song or your favorite song that you have produced?

They all have their times for popularity. My favourite now is psy-prog
remix of an old Techno track that I have done with Matt Williams,
“Creation of your life“. It is coming out at Free-Spirit Records
January 2015.

https://soundcloud.com/bahar-canca/creation-of-your-mind-bahar-canca-matt-williams-bahar-canca-psycadelic-remix

7. What is the longest set that you have ever played, and where was it?

Commercially longest I have been asked to play is 3 hours. I played 14
hours on a private party once.

* A break with Bahar;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRnYUpBo_qE

8. Is there a perfect set length, and if yes, how long would it be?

It all depends on the party, DJ and crowd. DJs like Shane Gobi,
Tristan, Ace Ventura should have minimum 2,5 hours sets of not longer.
I love playing 2,5 hours sets.

9. Tell us about your Psy-Boutique Project.

Psy-Boutique is a small and intimate biennial festival, which is held
in sunny Turkey since 2010. It is a friendly gathering where we can
put together almost all our friends for a relaxing few days by
beautiful beach as we share the music we love, dance and be jolly. We
were blessed artist like Shane Gobi, Aphid Moon, System 7, Gaudi,
Dickster and many more.. Our next gathering will be on 2016, however
we make parties all around the world to celebrate our precious
community regularly.

10. What”s next and now for Bahar Canca?

My new EP “Psy Boutique” due to come out on Free-Spirit Records in
January. Last one year I have been collaborating with Ozlem Tekin for
a fresh new live project under the name “PSYSHE” and our album teaser
will be on the 17 of January in Istanbul within Psy-boutique and Ayata
reunion. Apart from DJing and producing I am also a promoter so next
is Elixir of Life New Year Celebrations in London. To keep updated my
coming gigs follow me on Facebook, link below.

1. How did you get into DJing?

In 2003, I”d played my playlists in my high school”s theatre, while singing on my mix. Then I started to play in a small bar, where the place was just about drinking alcohol and talking with friends. I was taking seriously what I played in my sets.

2. Who were some of your influences?

I was born in a musician family. Especially my father is currently a musician/singer and I was a big fan of Micheal Jackson when I was 4.

3. Do you prefer DJing or producing songs?

I love both of them but producing song is my independence.

4. What advice or tips would you give a new-beginner deejay?

They have to hear whatever comes next or “be open whatever comes next” to control.

5. What is the best and worst part of life as a deejay?

To make people dance is the best, to make people talk is the worst part of my dj life.

6. What is the best song or your favorite song that you have produced?

Well, too many. But, which comes first in my mind is the strange attractor from Silent Servant. It”s bass snare”s repetitions force very well the brain”s This does not affect any liability that RED cdl license and/or cdl license (Acceptances) Limited may have for any loss or damage you may incur which is caused directly as a result of any breach (including negligence) by it or them of any legal duty owed by it or them to you. cell walls.

7. What is the longest set that you have ever played, and where was it?

5,5 hours in a garage, where I was making noise in Provence.

8. Is there a perfect set length, and if yes, how long would it be?

It depends on the ambiance and the dj mood. But I prefer to play minimum 3 hours.

9. What”s next and now for Ezgi Mutlu?

Every day mixing of my own songs, playing on the ground in every week for my program “morning sherifs” while creating its visuals and working working working until the dream of an unseen objet d”art meets with ears and eyes.

We did a interview with Mario Ochoa, here enjoy!

1. How did you get into DJing?

I was 16 and used to hang out at a lot of all ages parties and eventually I just said “I want to be the DJ” so I went for it, and here I am. Regarding music production this is something that I felt came hand in hand with Djing so I just decided to make my own music and learned by myself.

2. Who were some of your influences when you started DJing?

Razon n Guido, Sal Dano, Victor Calderone, Club 69 (R.I.P Peter Rauhofer), Joey Beltram, Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Adam Beyer, Daft Punk, Eric Prydz, Antoine Clamaran and many others.

3. Do you prefer DJing or producing songs?

I think both complement each other, so I enjoy both.

4. What advice or tips would you give a young deejay?

Work really really hard. Because this is not an easy job like most people think.

5. What is the best and worst part of life as a deejay?

The best I would say is travelling and getting to know new places, the worst is that you feel online casino sleepy most of the time.

6. Who would you love to DJ with?

Marco Carola, Joris Voorn and Luciano are my favorites Aven om du kommer att kunna spela casino Saga gratis raknar vi med att du ocksa kommer att kunna kopa mynt eller andra former av vardesaker for att lasa upp funktioner, gora din avatar starkare, med mera. at the moment so I would be glad to share a booth with them in the future.

7. What is the best song or your favorite song that you have produced?

Chronos

8. What has been your best and worst show?

Best show was this year in Seoul at Ellui, great vibe and amazing crowd. Worst show, there’s many but not because of the crowd most of the time cause of bad promoters.

9. Where do you find the best audiences?

Caracas (Venezuela), Manizales (Colombia), Seoul (South Korea), Beirut (Lebanon), Toronto (Canada)

Mario”s 10min. liveset

10. What is the longest set that you have ever played, and where was it?

Like 9 years ago I played in a party in my hometown (Medellin) and I played for around 14 hours, it was crazy!

11. Is there a perfect set length, and if yes, how long would it be?

I would say around 6 hours and the perfect time would be from 3am to 9am

12. What”s next and now for Mario Ochoa?

Lots of new big releases and gigs coming, and we are also planning my first European Tour.

13. Do you have any words to Electronica.FM readers?

I hope you guys enjoy to know a little bit more about me and I wish you good luck in your future.

We have news from Martha! a.k.a Panic Girl!

She released her new LP from Infiltrator Records, well it”s mostly triphop and named Lowlands. I can say, i loved all vocals in the album also they all had mystery tones, which is good for me. You can easily get trips without drugs! and album cover is amazing, loved it.

Thoughts about song ;

Echoes : Gives me goosebump! for me it”s #1
Bound : Love that “80 tones, inside the song. (imho) – I don”t like the fade-out finish in the song but if there”s a idea behind that, it”s so sharp. I mean “it”s fade-out”ing because it”s a “80”th related song!” I can say “wow”.
Maze : You can feel you in the dgfev online casino nbso Maze with this song. Just close your dam” eyes maan!
Drums of War : Loved the lyrics and song but i think – someone should touch this song with Drum”n Bass. Curious! Loved that drums, reminds me Woodkid”s Iron.
Webs & Antimatter : Imho, needs longer versions.

Well guys, I am def. suggesting you to buy that LP or digital copy!

I would like to express our gratitude to José Woldring who set the interview and Sander’s tour manager Mark for greeting us nicely and The Sutton manager Kyke Navarro and DJ Brian Cross also DJ Alex Rosen, it was a nice set before Sander! :)

Well, actually we’ve waited his new single to release interview, so here it is.

1. How did you get into DJing?

I started about 10 years ago. First I started as a producer a little bit.. back-room producing. A little bit experimenting with tracks. Got signed first to record label which I am still with today. About 9 years ago I came for my first show over in Switzerland and I kind of kept rolling after that. So, it was 9 years ago that I started.

2. Who were some of your influences when you started DJing?

Around that time a big influence was and still is Depeche Mode, Underworld, Marko V was of big influence, back in those days. He was a resident DJ in Eindhoven, club called Dance Loom. I would always call it, clubbing over in a club, he was always a big express for this. This is kind of like basis of mine, on my side.

3. Do you prefer DJing or producing songs?

It’s hard to say, I actually prefer the whole combination. Because you can produce a track in studio and then you can play at the same night, which I love to do. So, I couldn’t choose one or the other. These are two completely different worlds. I definitely love the combination.

4. What advice or tips would you give a young deejay?

A young DJ, I would say.. Really focus on producing as well. It’s all about creating your own sound. There are a lot of DJs out there and I predict the next few years, the amount of DJs, It’s kinda, gonna triple or quadruple, so there is gonna be a lot of competition and the best way to deal with that is to start producing first, to create your own sound and kind of take it from there.

5. What is the best and the worst thing about being a DJ?

The best thing is, you get a play out.. I still see it, sometimes as a hobby and it’s more work at the same time. It’s the best thing in the world. The worst thing in DJing is the whole travel part. Because getting from point A to B is sometimes gonna be, 20 hour-30 hour flight schedule. I actually.. for New Year’s eve, I played India, it took me 32 hours to get to Ottowa, Canada and then I had to go to Dallas and then New York and then to Mexico. So, it’s such a big flight schedule that makes it very hard.

6. Who would you like to DJ with? May be B2B

Back to back? One of the most spontaneous back-to-backs was actually with Sebastian Ingrosso, we both at the Sensation over Belgium and we ended up in this after our club. He was playing his set and I just came, just for fun, ended up in the DJ booth and started DJing with him.. absolutely love doing that. Beside, i did sets with Marco V, actually just did back-to-back Sunnery James around my show that was pretty cool in Argentina. It doesn’t matter who, as long as it’s spontaneous. I like that.

Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano – Sander van Doorn @ Mandarine Park;

7. What has been your best and worst show?

My best show, its hard to say which one is the best. I would say, the best year definitely was 2012.. it’s just insane with the whole amount of festivals. US market has blown up. EDC was insane, Electric Zoo New York was crazy. Tomorrowland was off this world, so many good festivals these days.

Well, the worst gig, I would say, for me personally, the most painful gig was actually in Poland, that was around 8 years ago, I was doing a DJ set in a lake and I was attacked by bees and I was surrounded by Redbull and all this sugar. So, one of the bees crawled into one of the ear shelf of one of my headphones, it was over on my chin and it stung me on my chin while I was doing the set. Nobody spoke a word in English, so I couldn’t explain it to the guys, you know what was going on.. the only thing they expect is that show must go on. So, that was the most painful gig.

8. What is the longest set that you have ever played and where was it?

The longest set… I was in Singapore@Zouk a few years ago. I think I was playing for 7 hours, I could have played for about 10 hours, but I had to stop because we had a flight, I had to be pulled out of stage because I was about to miss that flight. Yeah, I think that was the longest one.

INFECTED MUSHROOM – ELECTRONICA.FM INTERVIEW

1. How did you get into DJing?

Well, we were both DJing before we met each other, actually Erez was DJing out of his mother’s womb haha… You might have heard the story of when Erez was a little boy of not much more than 14 years old, DJ Jorg took him (with his mother’s permission) to tour around Europe.

2. Who were some of your influences when you started DJing? Today?

X-Dream, Hallucinogen, and Etnika for when we were starting… and probably Skrillex, Datsik, Deadmau5 and Opio are some of our influences now.

3. Do you prefer DJing or producing songs?

Producing songs because we can stay home in LA, at our studio! There is also some fun in playing the songs we making while we DJ ;)

4. What advice or tips would you give a young deejay?

Don’t give up, there will always be ups and downs but just keep moving forward.

5. What is the best part of life as a deejay?

Eating good food from around the world and seeing people react to our music.

6. What is the worst part about DJing?

Being away from our families during the weekend.

7. Who would you love to DJ with?

Paris Hilton. Haha… just kidding.

8. What is the best song or your favorite song that you have produced?

That’s a tough question, there are a lot of good ones ;) And our favorites change from time to time.

9. What has been your best show?

It’s hard to say… there have been some amazing shows… Playing on the beach in Rio de Janeiro for 100,000+ people with the Black Eyed Peas… Playing on top of the Swiss Alps, Burning Man, Virgin Music Festival and Coachella were great too – so many incredible experiences that it’s difficult to name one as the best.

Burning Man Video :

10. What has been your worst show?

I’d rather not talk about it, raises my blood pressure…

11. What would be your favorite live set?

We just debuted our new 3D mapped live experience at Avalon in Hollywood last week*, it went over extremely well and we are very pumped up to start touring the new set around the United States. Was it our “favorite live set?” Tough to say because we don’t like to play favorites… but it is new, exciting, trippy, and we are very stoked to start showing this off to our fans.

*interview date – 30.05.12

12. Where do you find the best audiences?

Each market has their own flavor, and we can dig that. Our best audiences are probably in Mexico, Brazil, Russia, the USA and at home in the States.

13. What is the longest set that you have ever played, and where was it?

6 hrs or 7 hrs in Switzerland.

14. Is there a perfect set length, and if yes, how long would it be?

We like to play 1.5 hours LIVE, and sometimes another 2 hours DJ set, if the party is rocking. Any more than that we start to get antsy!

15. What’s next for Infected Mushroom?

Our new album was released a couple weeks ago – hit number 1 dance album in iTunes and Beatport, that is very exciting… Also we have some international dates in June & July, then I believe in August we will start the US tour – we are hoping to hit around 50 cities.

16. Do you have any words to Electronica.FM readers?

For those of you who know and who have supported us, we cannot thank you enough. For those of you who do not know us or think you know us, come check us out! And if you are an aspiring artist, live every day to its fullest.

Thank you!
